"ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh ancaman militer yang dilakukan oleh Korea Utara terhadap nilai tukar dan indeks saham di Korea Selatan selama Korea Utara berada di bawah pemerintahan Kim Jong-un, yakni pada periode 2012-2017. Penelitian dilakukan dengan mengkategorisasi ancaman berdasarkan jenisnya, dan juga melakukan analisis perusahaan-perusahaan pada tingkat sektor. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa dari walaupun secara umum nilai tukar dan indeks saham tidak dipengaruhi oleh ancaman militer Korea Utara, pada tingkat sektor, dampak ancaman bisa saja tetap muncul. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa antar sektor perusahaan, pengaruh ancaman militer bisa berbeda-beda, tergantung dari karakteristik perusahaannya.

ABSTRACTThis research was intended to investigate the impact of North Korean military threats under the governance of Kim Jong un, that is from 2012 2017, on the exchange rate of South Korean Won and the stock prices of South Korean companies. This research was done by categorizing threats according to the types of the threats, and also by classifying the companies in South Korea according to their sectors. The result of this research shows that although exchange rates and stock index were not affected by North Korean military threat, but at sectoral level, the result might be different. Depending on the characteristics of the sectors, the impact can vary from one sector to another. "

"Dengan meningkatnya ancaman nuklir dari Korea Utara di tahun  2000-an, pemerintah Korea Selatan memutuskan untuk memfokuskan upayanya dalam denuklirisasi Semenanjung Korea salah satunya dengan  membangun rezim perdamaian permanen yang melibatkan penguatan hubungan dengan beberapa negara di antaranya, Negara Anggota ASEAN. Moon menjembatani kepentingan Korea Selatan di Asia Tenggara melalui New Southern Policy (NSP), suatu kebijakan yang secara kasat mata bertitik berat di segi ekonomi namun juga memiliki segi pertahanan dan keamanan wilayah. Dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif-analisis, penelitian ini mencoba menjelaskan strategi yang dilakukan oleh Pemerintahan Korea Selatan dalam upaya pembangunan keamanan di Semenanjung Korea melalui NSP, khususnya terkait dengan ketidaknyamanan hubungan negara dengan Korea Utara. Penemuan penelitian ini adalah melalui NSP, Moon Jae In melakukan pendekatan diplomasi preventif terhadap Korea Utara dengan bantuan Negara Anggota ASEAN. Hal ini dapat dibuktikan dengan pertemuan-pertemuan momentum yang terlaksana, walaupun hubungan kedua korea masih tidak tentu dan fluktuatif.

The increasing nuclear threat from North Korea in the 2000s made the South Korean government more focused on its efforts to denuclearize the Korean Peninsula, one of which was building a permanent peace regime that involved strengthening relations with several countries, including ASEAN countries. Moon bridges South Korea's interests in Southeast Asia through the New Southern Policy (NSP), a policy that at glance focuses on the economy but also has aspects of regional defense and security. Using the descriptive-analytical method, this study tries to explain the strategy carried out by the South Korean Government in efforts to develop security on the Korean Peninsula through the NSP, particularly related to the discomfort of the state's relations with North Korea. The finding of this research is that through the NSP, Moon Jae In took a preventive diplomacy approach towards North Korea with the help of ASEAN countries. This can be proven by the momentum meetings that have been held, even though the current relationship between the two Koreas is still uncertain and fluctuating. "
