"In 2014 there was found two "enigmatic" specimens of mandible, which named as Semedo 3417 and 3418. Both mandibles are morphologically similar but twice bigger than common primate?s jaw. In this research, we use morphology and morphometric analysis to determine the species identity and taxonomic position of those specimens. For comparison study we use some samples from Homo erectus (Java and China), Gigantopithecus (blacki and bilaspurensis), Australopithecines (robust and gracile). Based on morphology and morphometric characters on the mandible and teeth, it is concluded that Semedo specimen tends to be close to Gigantopithecus blacki. The discoveries of Gigantopithecus fossil in Java has implication on some research problem, especially regarding the adaptation pattern of this species which known only found at high latitudes environment. Furthermore this discovery has reinforced the perspective that tropical environment has a very high biodiversity, particularly on primate fossils.

Despite the highly praised for technology achievements and prosperities, the morphology and appearance of Cities in Japan are often criticized as dull, uninteresting, brutal, and chaos. The question is, how do cities in Japan gain stability while the reality of the urban condition is in a chaos? Is there something behind the chaos that makes urban dwellers of Japanese cities able to relatively live comfortably and safely? This paper analyses some aspects which shaped Japan urbanism, from disorderly addressing system to the speed of building transformations that considerably high. Findings on the hidden orders behind the chaos of Japanese cities reveal an understanding that the spatial and physical chaos of a dense city are not always identified as a social chaos."

This article examines the impact of the economic depression (Great Depression) in the Dutch East Indies, especially on the oil mining industry community in the Tjepoe region. Great Depression was an event of falling stock prices that caused a decline in export-import activities in the United States, which then had an impact on the whole world, including the Dutch East Indies. Furthermore, this event affects various sectors, and what will be studied in this research is its impact on the socio-economic life of the oil mining industry community in Tjepoe. This study uses the historical method which includes four stages, namely heuristics, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. This study is different from previous studies, which discussed the economic and social impacts of the existence of the oil mining industry on the communities in those vicinities. This study focuses on discussing the socio-economic impact caused by Great Depression on the mining industry activities in the Tjepoe area. This study proves that Great Depression affects the continuity of the oil mining industry activities in Tjepoe, and the decline in activity that occurs then has an impact on the socio-economic life of some groups of people who are engaged in the oil mining industry in Tjepoe. This can be found in contemporary reports and newspapers, which state that Great Depression that began to have an impact in the Dutch East Indies in the 1930s led to a reduction in the workforce and a reduction in wages in the oil mining industry in Tjepoe. This study uses some sources, both primary and secondary sources, which include archives, contemporary newspapers both available online and manually accessed, books, and various journals related to the study of socio-economic impacts, arising from Great Depression on various groups of people in Tjepoe, especially the people who involved in the oil mining industry there."

"Tribadi, Suranto, Sajidan. 2009. Variation of morphological and protein pattern of cassava (Manihot esculenta) varieties of Adira1 and Cabak makao in Ngawi, East Java. Nusantara Bioscience 2: 14-22. This research is intended to find out the morphological and anatomical variation as well as the protein band pattern of cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) widely spread in three different areas of height. The sample collecting is done using simple random sampling in the three different areas of height that is 50, 300, 1000 meters asl in Ngawi District, East Java while the analysis of protein band pattern is done using SDS-PAGE. The result of the research of morphology and anatomy is analyzed descriptively and presented in the form of tabels, histograms and figures. The analysis of protein band pattern is done using quantitative and qualitative analysis that is based on the appearance or not the gel band pattern by counting the molecular weights based on code marker S 8445 and qualitative method based on the quality of the band formed. The band pattern formed is istimated and presented in the form of zimogram. The result of the research shows that the height of the cultivating site very much influences toward variations of root, stem and leaf morphology. The longest root is at 50 meter heights asl (Cabak makao local variety, the widest stem diameter is at 50 meters asl (Cabak makao local variety) the longest leaf and branch is at 300 meters asl (Cabak makao local variety) and 1000 meters asl (Cabak makao local variety). There is no difference of anatomy in the root, stem and leaf and no difference of protein band pattern either in Adira1 or Cabak makao local variety. "

"There are 49 nominal taxa of Thiaridae known from Sulawesi and 11 species from Lake Poso, Central Sulawesi have been reported by Sarasin & Sarasin (1897 & 1898). Since then, no study on the systematic of the species from Lake Poso have been carried out. The basic information on the morphology of those species were described for the first time in 1897 & 1898. However, information on their habitat and distribution are still lacking.
Lake Poso is a tectonic-lake, which lies at 510 m above sea level and covers about 32,000 hectares. The deepest part of the lake reaches 450 meters. To study the diversity and distribution of Thiaridae in Lake Poso, snails were collected from 33 locations (outlet, inlet, and area of the lake), using sieve and by hand (at the shallow area) or small hand ?dredge? (at deep area). Morphology characters (height, width of shell and aperture; number of axial and spiral ribs at the penultimate and body whorls) were examined. Anatomical study (head, neck, tentacle, eye, snout, sole, foot groove); pallial cavity (ctenidium, osphradium, rectum, mantle edge); alimentary system (buccal mass, radula sac, radula, stomach); reproductive system (female: brood pouch, bursa copulatrix, albumen gland, egg, embryo, ovary; male: prostate gland, testis, testicle lobes, vas deferens); nervous system (cerebro ganglion, pleuro ganglion, pedal ganglion) was conducted only on Tylomelania.
Totally there are 13 species and more than eight undescribed species of Thiaridae identified in this study. Most of the species belong to the genus Brofia which occurred at the area of the lake (LP 10, LP 11, LP 12, LP 13, LP 15, LP 16, LP 17, LP 17 a, LP 18, LP 19, LP 20, LP 21, LP 22, LP 23, LP 24, LP 24 a, LP 25, LP 26, LP 27, LP 28, LP 29, LP 31), outlet (LP 1, LP 2, LP 3, LP 4) and inlet area (LP 5, LP 6, LP 7, LP 8, LP 9, LP 30). B. toradjarum, B. sca/ario psis, B. ku/i, B. centaurus were found at the area of the lake, while B. perfecta and B. robusta at the inlet and outlet respectively. There are two species of Melanoides (M. tuberculata & M. granífera) found at the area of the lake, and one species, M. punctata, occurred only at the stream of Saluopa (inlet area).
The anatomy of the genus Tylomelania was described for the first time. Comparative study on the morphology and anatomy were based on specimen of T. neritiformis, T. porcellanica, and T. carbo. The anatomical characters described and compared: the length and width of buccal mass, radula sac, ctenidium, osphradium, stomach, style-sac, albumen gland, eggs, and embryos, cerebral commissure, pedal commissure. The shape and position of anus, rectum, ctenidium, osphradium, radula, brood pouch, bursa copulatrix, albumen gland, genital Opening, prostate gland, ovary, testis, cerebro ganglion, pleuro ganglion, pedal ganglion, suboesophageal ganglion, supraoesophageal ganglion presented for the first time.
