"ABSTRAK
The fractionation of five heavy metals in a washing aggregate sludge, a sewage sludge, a clay-rich sediment, the mixtures of these materials and the lightweight aggregates manufactured with them has been determined by applying the optimezed European Community Bureau of Reference sequential extraction procedure in order to evaluate the effects of the heating process on the extraction of these elements. Additionally, preparation of efaluates by aggregate leaching has been performed in accordance with the UNE-EN-1744-3 standard. The availability of all the studied heavy metals has been reduced by the thermal treatment, since most of the heavy metals have become part of the undigested material in the lightweight aggregates. Nickel has been the heavy metal that has presented the highest concentration in the eluates obtained after completion of the single extraction procedure in the lightweight aggregates. The studied lightweight aggregates may be used in lightweight concerte manufacturing from the standpoint of heavy metal leaching. "

"ABSTRAK
A significant share of the U.S federal R&D budget is devoted to large-scale, complex technological system commonly referred to as "big science". Over the last two decades, these systems have continued to grow in size, complexity, development time, and cost. At the same time, political changes in the US, particulary the concern over goverment spending and the federal budget deficit, have made it more difficult for proponents to secure and preserve support for these programs over their (increasingly long) lifetimes. Using the U.S space shuttle and space station programs as examples, the article shows that the political requirements for obtaining approval and funding for large and expensive research and development projects create conditions that reduce the likelihood that they will succeed technologically. The problems of technology-based projects like those of the US space program are in fact deeply rooted in the American political process itself. "

"ABSTRAK
Genome Sequence Analysis for genetic datasets by using ORF (Open Reading Frames) techniques is an interesting area of research for bioinformatics researchers nowadays. There is a strong research focus on comparative analysis between genetic behaviors and diversity of different species. Contrary to whole genome sequence analysis, scientists are now trying to concentrate specifically on layered analysis to get a better insight of relevancy among genetic datasets. This phenomenon will help to better understand species. An ORF statistical analysis for genetic data-sets of species Chimera Monstrosa and Poly Odontidae is presented. For completion of this analysis, we use a hybrid approach that combines a generic mechanism for statistical analysis with specific approach designed for out performance. At first instance, genetic datasets are refined for better usage at next level. These sets are then passed through layers of filters that perform DNA to Protein translation. Statistical comparison is performed during this translation. This layered architecture helps in better understanding of the degree of similarity and differences in genomic sequences. "

"The nature of biodiesel production itself is complex with multisectors and multi-actors conditions, and with addition of sustainability issues from various stakeholder, created a complex challenges for developing the biodiesel industry. In order to understand of the complexity, this research developed a comperhensive sustainability model to draw the relationship and analyze the effects of government policy for stimulating biodiesel industry using the combination methods of process mapping, financial modeling, life cycle analysis (LCA) and business sustainability strategy. The model combines its output tanslated into a complete sustainability index of financial, social and environment. The model simulation results show that accomplishment of a sustainable biodiesel production within the target and timeframe is impossible without releasing the subsidized price of diesel fuel and further directions from the government.
