"Penelitian ini ditujukan guna mengetahui jumlah operator telekomunikasi di Indonesia yang ideal berdasarkan banyaknya pelanggan (konsumen) yang bisa ditampung oleh operator telekomunikasi tersebut serta total pendapatan yang diperoleh masing-masing operator seluler pada tahun 2009. Adapun yang akan diteliti adalah operator seluler yang menggunakan teknologi GSM (Global Systems for Mobile communication) serta teori yang akan digunakan untuk melakukan analisis jumlah ideal operator tersebut adalah chaos theory. Data diambil sampling dengan data pelanggan area Jakarta yang merupakan sentral dari kelayakan usaha telekomunikasi di Indonesia. Berdasarkan analisis yang dilakukan, diketahui bahwa dari 5 operator seluler yang saat ini eksisting terdapat 3 operator yang pada jangka waktu ke depan masih akan tetap mampu bertahan memenangkan pasar.

This study aimed to determine the number of telecommunications operators in Indonesia are ideal based on the number of subscribers (consumers) that can be accommodated by the telecommunications operators as well as the total revenue obtained by each mobile operator in the year 2009. As for who will be investigated is the cellular operators that use GSM (Global Systems for Mobile Communication) and theory that will be used to perform analysis of these operators is the ideal amount of chaos theory. Sampling with data retrieved customer data which is the central Jakarta area of the feasibility of telecommunications in Indonesia. Based on the analysis undertaken, it is known that out of five cellular operators that currently there are three existing operators in the period ahead will still be able to survive to win market."

"This paper reports the local-innovation perspective for the Indonesian mobile cellular market. Under the local perspective, the innovation opportunity appears when it suit characteristics of the country and the behavior nature of its people such concept is built into realization by making an applications of mobile-herbal (m-herbal) services applications. The service is designed by following the proposed framework, starting from scanning the market demand, defining specific applications, defining the actors, exploration of tacit knowledge of the actors, engineering development, implantation innovation and concurrent innovative development. We used the results of previous market survey emphasizing a need of health-related service for Indonesian market. Herbal remedy was chosen as the focal point of health-related service development since it is well-known indigenous method of treatment by using Indonesian natural ingredients. The service is developed to run on the Android-based smartphone, connects to the database called Indonesian HerbalDB. It consists two main features, i.e. query of herbal remedies and self evaluation assessment. Users of the services may search the names of Indonesian traditional plantation, its local names, and the kind of disease which can be cured. Through the features of self evaluation assessment, users are encouraged to give their personal perception of the herbal remedies, and being the recommendation to other users afterward. Finally, our proposed framework signifies the importance of communications channel among the actors in the mobile cellular facilitating mutual interaction between the multiple actors involved in the mobile herbal development."

"PT. Bakrie Telecom, merupakan salah satu operator layanan seluler dengan menggunakan teknologi CDMA yang menawarkan produknya yakni ESIA, saat ini terus mencoba memperluas dan memperbaiki coverage area yang dimilikinya. Perbaikan kualitas jaringan yang dilakukan saat ini hampir meliputi seluruh wilayah kota Jakarta, dan terutama wilayah Sudirman, Senayan, Gatot Subroto dan Kuningan yang memiliki prospek menjanjikan. Dalam Tugas Akhir ini, dilakukan analisa coverage eksisting di wilayah Sudirman, Senayan, Gatot Subroto dan Kuningan untuk menentukan langkah perbaikan yang meliputi analisis dari sisi transmisi dan dari sisi jaringan. Dari sisi transmisi dilakukan perhitungan parameter transmisi pada radio link yang meliputi perhitungan power link budget untuk menentukan radius sel dengan menggunakan model propagasi Okkumura-Hatta. Dari sisi jaringan, dievaluasi perfomansi jaringan menggunakan data hasil drive test yang meliputi tiga parameter yaitu nilai Rx Level, Ec/Io dan FER, dan di lakukan penilaian dari data drop call. Hasil analisa menunjukkan bahwa performansi jaringan di wilayah Sudirman, Senayan, Gatot Subroto dan Kuningan pada awal pembangunan jaringan masih dibawah standar yang diinginkan, hal ini disebabkan karena daerah tersebut tidak tercover dengan baik oleh BTS-BTS di sekitarnya. Untuk itu dilakukan perbaikan coverage dengan pembangunan BTS baru. Dari hasil perhitungan didapatkan bahwa untuk dapat mengcover wilayah Sudirman, Senayan, Gatot Subroto dan Kuningan dengan baik, dibutuhkan tiga BTS baru. Dianalisa pula kondisi performansi di daerah tersebut setelah tercover oleh tiga BTS baru, Secara keseluruhan, performansinya sudah memenuhi standar yaitu - 85 dBm untuk Rx level, -13 dB untuk Ec/Io dan 3% untuk FER. Untuk nilai Rx level, masih ditemukan ada beberapa daerah yang nilai rata-ratanya masih dibawah -85 dBm, karena ini merupakan daerah blank spot, ataupun terhalang oleh Obstacle. Saran perbaikan untuk mendapatkan nilai Rx level yang lebih baik adalah re-orientasi antena sektor sesuai target yang diinginkan untuk daerah blank spot, yakni wilayah pemukiman padat, mall, kampus, dll., dan pemasangan repeater untuk daerah yang wilayah nya tidak Line Of Sight dengan antena BTS atau terhalang obstacle."
