"In any heterogeneous system, porting reconfigurable computing is often a high
performance platform for a broad range of computationally challenging issues.
However, efficiently utilizing the maximum potential of these reconfigurable
systems is a difficult job without understanding their performance
characteristics. This work proposes an analytic performance model using Petri
Nets (PN) for a Reconfigurable OR1200 (ROR1200) soft-core processor with model
validation and verifications. By modeling the ROR1200 system using Petri Nets,
both behavioral and structural properties existing in parallel systems were
analyzed. The Bound Level Analysis with respect to the dependency level of data
is also performed on Soft Core Processors (SCP) like the ROR1200, the OR1200
and the MicroBlaze."

"Cylindrical uranium dioxide pellets, which are the main components for nuclear fuel elements in light water reactors, should have a high density profile, a uniform shape, and a minimum standard quality for their safe use as a reactor fuel component. The quality of green pellets is conventionally monitored by laboratory measurement of the physical pellet characteristics; however, this conventional classification method shows some drawbacks, such as difficult usage, low accuracy, and high time consumption. In addition, the method does not address the non-linearity and complexity of the relationship between pellet quality variables and pellet quality. This paper presents the development and application of a modified Radial Basis Function neural network (RBF NN) as an automatic classification system for green pellet quality. The weight initialization of the neural networks in this modified RBF NN is calculated through an orthogonal least squared method, and in conjunction with the use of a sigmoid activation function on its output neurons. Experimental data confirm that the developed modified RBF NN shows higher recognition capability when compared with that of the conventional RBF NNs. Further experimental results show that optimizing the quality classification problem space through eigen decomposition method provides a higher recognition rate with up to 98% accuracy."

"The routine daily
activities that tend to be sedentary and repetitive may cause severe health
problems. This issue has encouraged researchers to design a system to detect
and record people activities in real time and thus encourage them to do more
physical exercise. By utilizing sensors embedded in a smartphone, many research
studies have been conducted to try to recognize user activity. The most common
sensors used for this purpose are accelerometers and gyroscopes; however, we
found out that a gravity sensor has significant potential to be utilized as
well. In this paper, we propose a novel method to recognize activities using
the combination of an accelerometer and gravity sensor. We design a simple
hierarchical system with the purpose of developing a more energy efficient
application to be implemented in smartphones. We achieved an average of 95% for
the activity recognition accuracy, and we also succeed at proving that our work
is more energy efficient compared to other works."

"A
vacuum drying system is being designed and developed at National Institute of
Vacuum Science & Technology (NINVAST) to dry various materials under vacuum
conditions. Its performance and capabilities are tested by carrying out
different experiments on green (freshly cut) wood samples of Poplar and
Eucalyptus with dimensions of 990.6 mm x 76.2 mm x 25.4 mm and 469.9 mm x 50.8
mm x 25.4 mm, respectively. These samples were dried from green moisture
content (MC) 78% to 10% by this system at ultimate vacuum of about 1.6 x 103
pascal and at a temperature ranging from 35oC to 55oC for
about 20 hrs. Drying quality tests included: prong test, warp measurement,
surface checking and moisture content measurement, which were all performed.
The resulting wood samples showed no dislocation and no excessive stress
buildup. If compared to ordinary drying process, the vacuum drying is rapid and
the drying rate increases with rise in temperature. The designed system is
beneficial for commercial use."

"To
develop seismic design criteria for buildings, seismic hazard analysis is required to estimate the ground motion
intensity with criteria such as peak ground
acceleration (PGA). The seismic hazard can be analyzed by using two approaches: deterministic seismic hazard analysis (DSHA) and
probabilistic seismic hazard analysis (PSHA). In these two approaches, the
seismic hazard is evaluated from past earthquake events and active faults data. In Thailand, seismic hazard is classified in the low lying regions; however, in recently years,
earthquakes have occurred frequently in the North of Thailand. To
prevent and reduce damage due to earthquakes in the future, determination
of seismic hazard is needed. This
research proposes a deterministic seismic hazard
map evaluated from nineteen
active faults affecting
Thailand. Two types of active faults are considered: first, an active fault in a subduction zone and second, a crustal fault. The seismic hazard is evaluated by using a ground
motion prediction equation (GMPEs). Four GMPEs are weighted equally for
seismic crustal fault, and two GMPEs are weighted equally for
a seismic subduction zone. The hypocentral distance is
used to evaluate the seismic hazard for all ground motion prediction equations.
The Northern part and the Western part of Thailand are high seismic hazard
regions, because there are active faults with the large possibility of earthquakes of a maximum magnitude. The seismic
hazards in the North, West and Northeast of Thailand are about 0.60 g.
The seismic hazard in Bangkok is about 0.25 g due to the Three Pagoda fault and Sri Sawat fault. The seismic hazard in the South of Thailand is about 0.40 g."

This thesis studies the factors that affect the performance of Incentive Program Technology Diffusion and Utilization start from input factors to outcomes using logic models method. This study uses a descriptive analytic that is a qualitative approach.
The result of analysis showed that the most influential factor inputs in the implementation of Incentive Program Diffusion and Utilization of Science and Technology are human resources, proposal, timing and research counterpart. Selection of proposal that was conducted by an independent assessment team must conform to the terms and conditions set by Kemenristek. Long-term outcomes that should be achieved still require long process and need support from relevant stakeholders.
The results of this study suggest to received priority on proposals that have a high potential for the achievement of long-term outcome. And suggest Kemenristek to coordinate and synergize with other relevant ministries to support policy concerning implementation and transfer technology as a result from financing of Incentive Program Technology Diffusion and Utilization.

"The choice among modes of intercity transport depends on conditions of not only intercity transport modes but also intracity transport in both the departure city and the arrival city. Intracity transport conditions might be advantageous for one intercity mode and disadvantageous for others. Intercity and intracity transport conditions are complex and need to be approached systemically. This study proposes an approach based on the passengers? preferences. The logit model was adapted to evaluate the transport modes? choices in competition. This model is called the ?Adapted Mixed Multinomial Logit Model? (AMML). It was applied on the Jakarta-Bandung corridor in both directions. It contributes to a complete approach for intercity transport mode choice by considering the influence of the intracity transport conditions in both the departure and arrival cities. The results proved that the choice of intercity transport mode depends not only on its own quality of service but also, importantly, on that of the intracity transport systems."
