"The present study deals with affect of adoption pattern of the ATMs by banks on its characteristics.
With the exploration of various characteristics of the banks like Size, Profitability, Efficiency, Cost of
Operations, Asset quality and Credit risk, Financing Pattern, Diversification and Age etc.; the study
has tried to differentiate between the early and late adopter category of the banks regarding ATM
cards. The banks have been categorized into early and late adopters on the basis of their adoption
period. For this purpose, 50 scheduled commercial banks consisting of 27 Public Sector Banks and
23 Private Sector Banks have been taken as sample to investigate the various aspects of and early
adopter banks in comparison to late adopter banks. The time period of the study is 20 years i.e.
from 1991 to 2010. It can be concluded that the initiators and first movers take advantage over
the late adopters and laggards. They have found to perform better in terms of various parameters.
Overall, the early adopter banks are larger in size, more diversified, having lesser branches, more
market share and wide ATM network as compared to late adopter ones. Thus, the empirical results
evidently reveal that the both the groups have their own different characteristics."

"The present study examines existence of service recovery paradox in Indian banking industry. The
study is taken up in the tri-city of Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali. The respondents are categorized
into failure and no-failure groups on the basis of their service experience. Failure group constitutes
those respondents who have experienced service recovery, and has been further divided into
five sub-groups ranging from service recovery++ (service recovery better than expected) to service
recovery- - (service recovery worse than expected). Service recovery paradox is examined by comparing
service recovery++ group with no-failure group. The study shows evidence for existence of
service recovery paradox in relation to satisfaction. It has been concluded that for service recovery
paradox to exist, recovery effort has to be exceptionally good and much better than expectation
level of the customer. The study suggests that service managers should take service failure as an
opportunity to appease customers by providing a much better than expected recovery experience.
However, organizations should not plan to create service failure situations because if they falter on
imparting the recovery, customer satisfaction may be influenced negatively."

"The positive impact of absorptive capacity (ACAP) on innovation and the positive impact of innovation on competitive advantage have been proven in different research contexts. However, current knowledge on organizational culture that affects ACAP, innovation and competitive advantage as a whole, remains unclear. This article proposes a model to examine how organizational culture (developmental culture and rational culture) affects ACAP, innovation and competitive advantage, directly and indirectly as well. Surveyed data (in Indonesian Banking Industry) shows that both of organizational culture have a direct impact on ACAP. Only developmental culture has a direct impact on innovation. There is no culture type affects competitive advantage directly. In this research, culture affects competitive advantage through ACAP and innovation."

"Perilaku belanja kompulsif dewasa ini menjadi salah satu topik menarik bagi sejumlah peneliti di bidang konsumsi maupun bidang pemasaran. Karena dianggap sebagai akibat dari materialisme dan dampak buruk dari konsumerisme. Alasannya, karena kedua hal tersebut berpengaruh sangat serius, baik itu secara perseorangan maupun bagi publik. Perilaku compulsive buying dapat diakibatkan dari beberapa faktor. DeSarbo dan Ewards (1996) membagi dua faktor yang memengaruhi seseorang untuk berperilaku compulsive buying yaitu predispostional factors dan circumstansial factors.
Menggunakan aplikasi Lisrel sebagai pengolah data, Emosi yang terdiri dari image consciousness dan compulsive spending berpengaruh signifikan terhadap materialism yang dilakukan pengguna sebagai mediasi untuk mempengaruhi dorongan untuk membeli maupun mempengaruhi dorongan untuk berbelanja sehingga dapat menciptakan sifat compulsive buyer. Hal ini didukung dengan nilai t-value yang sama tinggi antara image consciousness, materialism dan compulsive spending . Sifat materialism tidak terlalu berpengaruh signifikan terhadap credit card usage yang dilakukan pengguna karena orang yang memiliki sifat matrealistik tidak selalu memiliki kecenderungan untuk memakai kartu kredit untuk pemuas kebutuhan pribadinya.

Compulsive buying today become one of the topics of interest to a number of researchers in the field of consumer and field marketing. Since it is considered as a result of the adverse effects of materialism and consumerism. The reason is, because both of these are very serious effect, either individually or for the public. Compulsive buying behavior can result from several factors. DeSarbo and Ewards (1996) divides the two factors that influence a person to behave compulsive buying are predispostional factors and circumstansial factors.
Using Lisrel applications as data processor, Emotions which consists of image consciousness and compulsive spending a significant effect on a user's materialism as mediation to influence or affect the urge to buy an urge to shop so it can create compulsive nature of the buyer. This is supported by the value of the t-value is equally high among image consciousness, materialism and compulsive spending. The nature of materialism is not too significant effect on credit card usage as the user who made the matrealistic properties do not always have the tendency to use credit cards for satisfying personal needs.

"Conflict can be functional or dysfunctional to the organization?s performance. This study focused on the relationship between conflict approaches implemented by the project manager based on project team member?s perception on the effectiveness of the project manager in managing project?s
conflict. Questionnaires were modified from Barker et al. (1988) to measure conflict management
approaches and outcomes of managing project conflict. Data were gathered from 57
respondents who worked in the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractors
serving the upstream sector of the Oil and Gas industry in Indonesia. By using Pearson correlation,
result of this study indicated that project managers were perceived to be effective in managing
project conflict when implementing cooperative and confirmative approaches, but ineffective
when combining competitive and avoidance approaches. Further research should investigate correlation
between cultural dimensions with conflict approaches and outcomes of managing conflict."

"Penelitian ini menganalisis tentang tingkat persaingan sistem perbankan di Indonesia dengan menggunakan pendekatan New Empirical Industrial Organization. Dalam mengukur tingkat persaingan sistem perbankan Indonesia penulis menggunakan Boone Indicator dan Model Panzar-Rosse. Sebagai robustness test penulis juga mengestimasi tingkat persaingan sistem perbankan Indonesia menggunakan Lerner Index. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah 109 bank umum dengan periode pengamatan tahun 2006-2011. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa persaingan yang terjadi pada sistem perbankan Indonesia adalah persaingan monopolistik.

This study analyzes the level of competition in the Indonesian banking system by using the New Empirical Industrial Organization approach. Boone Indicator and Panzar-Rosse Model employed to estimate level of competition in Indonesian banking system. As a robustness test, authors also estimate the Indonesian banking system competition using Lerner Index. The data used in this study is a 109 commercial bank with the observation period from 2006-2011. The results of this study show that the Indonesian banking system is in the monopolistic competition."

"Tesis ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kondisi penerapan manajemen risiko dengan menilai berdasarkan data laporan keuangan serta mengetahui pengaruh penerapan manajemen risiko terhadap return harga saham. Dengan menggunakan rasio keuangan net interest margin to total assets (NETIM), non interest margin to total assets (NONIM), provisions to total assets (PROV) dan rasio kecukupan modal (CAR) yang berfungsi sebagai proxy variabel pengelolaan manajemen risiko sehingga dapat dihitung tingkat pelaksanaan manajemen risiko dengan metode statistik multivariat. Untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan manajemen risiko terhadap return harga saham digunakan analisis regresi.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan penerapan manajemen risiko di industri perbankan Indonesia menurun di awal periode (Maret 2004 ? Desember 2005) kemudian stabil (Maret 2006 ? Desember 2011). Penerapan manajemen risiko berpengaruh positif terhadap pergerakan return harga saham.

The purpose of this researchare to summarize the information that contained in bank financial statement on the risk management capabilities of bank and to investigate the impact of risk management capabilities to bank stocks return movement. By using accounting ratios such as net interest margin to total assets (NETIM), non interest margin to total assets (NONIM), provisions to total assets (PROV) and capital adequacy ratio (CAR) as proxy of risk management variables and attempts to quantify the overall risk management capabilities of bank by multivariate statistic method. Than, regression analysis is used to analyze the impact of risk management on stock return.
This research shows that risk management capability in indonesian banking industry declines in the beginning of research period (March 2004 - December 2005), and than stable until the end of the period (March 2006 ? December 2011). Risk management capabilities has a positive affect to stock return movement.
