"Indonesia adalah negara dengan jumlah muslim terbesar di dunia. Penegakkan nilai-nilai syariat terus diupayakan, termasuk dalam dunia keuangan dan perbankan. Berbagai organisasi telah melakukan upaya- upaya untuk memajukan perbankan dengan sistem syariah. Seminar Edukatif, Expo iB Vaganza, Kampanye GRES, dan Forum Riset merupakan beberapa bentuk sosialisasi perbankan syariah dengan agenda masing-masing yang ditujukan kepada masyarakat mulai dari memberikan pemahaman mengenai perbankan syariah hingga mengajak masyarakat untuk ambil peran dalam memajukan perbankan syariah di Indonesia. Namun, tingkat efektivitas sosialisasi tersebut belum terevaluasi mengingat kondisi percepatan pertumbuhan industri perbankan syariah di Indonesia sedang melambat, terlebih lagi market share-nya masih sangat kecil. oleh sebab itu, untuk mengetahui seberapa efektif upaya sosialiasi perbankan syariah yang telah dilakukan tersebut, maka peneliti membuat survey yang ditujukan kepada masyarakat yang menggunakan jasa perbankan syariah dengan meninjau aspek Public Understanding, Public Awareness, Public Involvement, dan Aspek Public Participant. Dari survey yang telah dilakukan, upaya sosialisasi perbankan syariah dinilai cukup berhasil. Namun, dari data bahwa cukup banyak masyarakat yang belum pernah mengikuti bahkan tidak tahu mengenai acara-acara yang diselenggarakan tersebut. Walaupun demikian, masyarakat tetap menyambut baik terhadap upaya-upaya yang dilakukan untuk memperkenalkan dan memajukan perbankan syariah di Indonesia. Hanya saja berbagai upaya yang telah dilakukan tersebut dinilai masih belum optimal untuk setiap aspek yang ditinjau.

Indonesia is the country with the largest Muslim population in the world. Establishment of the Sharia law keeps on being sought out, including in the worlds of finance and banking. Numerous organizations have attempted to promote banking to use Sharia law. Educative seminars, iB Vaganza expo, GRES campaign, and research forum are some of the medias to socialize Sharia banking. Each of the socializing forms has objectives starting from educating the masses about Sharia banking to engage them to have a role in promoting Sharia banking in Indonesia. However, the effectiveness of those socialization forms are not evaluated considering the development acceleration condition of Sharia banking industry in Indonesia is slowing down, not to mention how little the market share currently is. Therefore, to learn how effective the Sharia banking socialization attempts are the researcher had made a survey directed towards the population that uses Sharia banking services whilst concentrating on Public Understanding, Public Awareness, Public Involvement, and Public Participant aspects. The survey shows that the Sharia banking socialization attempts are deemed quite successful. However, data shows there are still many of the populace that has never attended or even acknowledged any of the organized socialization events. Nevertheless, the public keeps on positively welcoming the pursuit being done to introduce and promote Sharia banking in Indonesia. Though there are several researched aspects which has not been done optimally."
