"One of many definitions offered to explain human existence is that human being is a paradoxal being. By paradoxical being one intends that the very existance of human being is perceived in its seemingly contradictory expression without being contradiction. Human being is material-spiritual, Individual-social, etc. This paradoxial nature constitutes human existance. It affects essentially his/her personality, religion, act, culture, etc. Social status of Women in Toba Batak culture is placed in such paradoxial situation too. In one hadn, they are invoked as "Boru ni Raja" (the honored daughter), but on the other hand, they are treated as "hatoban" (slaves). This article seeks to show critically the place of Toba Batak Women in Toba Batak women inherited culturally from ancestors. By critically we mean that we seek to present fairly the social status of women in both its negative side and positive one. "

"The book asserts that unlike theory, which unfolds a logical continuity, and unlike dialogue, which is directed sequentially upward toward intellectual conclusions, the mode of reflection of the ?rhapsodic logos? imposes no limits or caps upon its understanding. Instead, the ?logoic? flow interlaces the rhapsodic cadences of our reflections on reality, in all their innumerable fluctuations, and sifts them to mold the intimate mind/soul inwardness that we experience as faith."

"Mitos; kata yang seolah-olah dekat dan dikenal. Banyak orang berbicara mengenai mitos, bahkan bermitos.
Myth; a term that is as if familiar and known. Many people talks about myth, even mything. But, a lot of them do not know what is myth; they tend to think about it in its additional meanings. Different conceptions about reality and truths can emerge differences on view about myth. This writing is an attempt to review the conceptual movement that constructs view about myth as the untruth and the unreal. Thereby, we need to reconstruct common view to make this problem clear, so that we get a new understanding about myth to safe reason."
