"The fall of the new order government in 1998 and the political reform that followed posed substantial challenges for Indonesia's bureaucracy to continue fulfilling its mandate. This book analyses the process of bureaucratic reform in the irrigation sector. Using Irrigation Management Transfer policy as the entry point for analysis, it documents and analyses the irrigation bureaucracy as ability to sustain its power and prominence in the sector as development, amidst and against national and international."

The phenomenon occurs that the bureaucracy could not deliver good public services and bureaucracy is a den of disease. The specific purpose of this research is fo¬cused on finding ways of preventing the pathology of the bureaucracy that comes from a variety of scientific literature. The method in this research article is systematic reviews technique that tries to identify all the written evidence exists regarding research themes. The results of this study reveal that the pathology of the bureaucracy is something to be prevented if we want the bureaucracy to run the task properly one of the ways that can be done is to do a bureaucratic innovation (an innovation on structure, systems, culture]. The innovation of bureaucracy will not only make changes to the organization to prevent the pathology of the bureaucracy but also as an ingredient to do discretion for a government policy especially regional government."

" This paper defines the informal sector (IS) as being self employed
persons assisted by family and other non-wage earners. It discusses some
theoretical aspects of the urban informal sector and presents some pertinent
findings in indonesia such as why persons enter the informal sector.
relationships of the informal sector to itself and the formal sector (FS),
factors affecting the competitiveness and potential of the informal sub-
sectors. and the interpretation of a change in the size of the informal sector
relative to the format sector. An analysis of Central Bureau of Statistics
data shows that the rate of growth of the informal sector from 1985 to 1990
was much tower than the formal sector and much lower than the informal
sector from 1980 to 1985, with the construction and transportation sectors
being exceptions and the female informal sector growth rate being 39 % that
of males.

"The reforms triggered by the economic crisis that hit Indonesia and a number of other Asian countries in 1998 have resulted in not only an improvement over a system that has been in force for the past 30 years but also fundamental changes. Although reform is born by a spirit of renewal, in response to the failure of the state to develop a system that can generate prosperity and justice for the people, both in the political and economic fields, but in the process has not produced a better relationship system between politics and public administration, which is professional, effective, efficient and free from corruption. This unsuccessfulness is predictable because the administrative reform is not based on a strict economic school. We had previously applied the Keynesian school, then Neo-liberalism, up until now the world is still searching for a new school. No exception for Indonesia. Reform has established a new system, completely different from the previous system, but without consistent ideology and paradigm. The lack of clear direction is the cause of the failure of administrative reform in Indonesia. The paper will analyze the cause of this unsuccessful, and propose recommendations for improvement."

"ABSTRACT
Using a combination of vulnerability and resilience frameworks, this paper examines governance challenges and strategies to coastal and water-related resilience in two indonesian cities. It compares the methods that local governments have used to engage different stakeholders and enact various policy solutions, in order to understand how multi-scalar elements of governance influence vulnerability and adaptive capacity to water related hazards."

ABSTRACT
The idea that trade liberalization can generate a market selection has been an interest for researchers in developing countries. Theoretically, trade liberalization-induced competition can benefit the high-productive firms but lead the low-productive ones out of market. The implication of the selection is the more efficient use of resources. This study examined the firm-level data of productivity and market share from Indonesian Manufacturing Firms Data from the 2000 -2013 period and found an increased positive correlation between the firms total factor productivity and its output share after import tariff decreases. The empirical findings supports the benefit from trade liberalization in terms of resource use.
