"This book describes efforts to improve subject-independent automated classification techniques using a better feature extraction method and a more efficient model of classification. It evaluates three popular saliency criteria for feature selection, showing that they share common limitations, including time-consuming and subjective manual de-facto standard practice, and that existing automated efforts have been predominantly used for subject dependent setting. It then proposes a novel approach for anomaly detection, demonstrating its effectiveness and accuracy for automated classification of biomedical data, and arguing its applicability to a wider range of unsupervised machine learning applications in subject-independent settings."

"Kendala-kendala yang sering dijumpai dalam kegiatan perkuliahan telah mendorong dihasilkannya aplikasi-aplikasi baru yang dapat mempermudah kegiatan tersebut Aplikasi Shared Working Space dapat mengatasi kendala tersebut, dimana aplikasi ini memungkinkan masing-masing dosen dan mahasiswa sebagai pengguna dapat tetap melakukan kegiatan perkuliahan tanpa kedua pihak harus berada dalam satu ruangan yang sama. Aplikasi Shared Working Space memiliki 2 komponen besar yaitu aplikasi client dan server. Aplikasi client terdiri dari shared whiteboard, text area, dan presentasi slide. Shared whiteboard berfungsi sebagai media untuk membuat gambar atau bentuk goresan tertentu yang berhubungan dengan kuliah yang bersangkutan. Text area dapat digunakan sebagai komunikasi antara dosen dan mahasiswa dalam bentuk teks. Presentasi slide berfungsi sebagai media presentasi yang dapat menampilkan slide presentasi dalam bentuk file power point/html. Aplikasi ini dapat disertai kemampuan atau fitur-fitur tambahan lainnya sesuai dengan kebutuhan, Aplikasi server berfungsi sebagai media pengirirnan data antar server. Hasil rancangan aplikasi Shared Working Space dengan bahasa pemrograman Java memperlihatkan semua aspek aplikasi I software yang dibangun, baik dari desain objek data, arsitektural maupun interface. Hasil evaluasi throughput dan lime delay pada aplikasi Shared Working Space dan perbandingannya dengan software Network Assistant 3.2 dan Windows Netlvleeting 3.2 telah memperlihatkan hasil kinerja yang hampir sama baiknya. Hasil pengujian user interace dan arsitektur client/server juga memperlihatkan bahwa penggunaan aplikasi Shared Working Space tergolong cukup mudah dan memenuhi kebutuhan standar bagi pengguna untuk aplikasi sejenis"
