"Postmodern movement which rose on thel970s, has many impact on art, culture. science, education and architecture. History noted that Postmodern Architecture was one of the Postmodern Par-excellence, one of the triggers that led to a holistic movement known as Postmodern movement. Based on that historical roles of architecture in Postmodern Movement, architectural education is expected to play a significant role in Postmodern practices today. The value of Postmodernism implemented in Postmodern Architectural Pedagogy and in the philosophy of Postmodern Architecture as the content and the body of substance. The value will help the architect to become culturally aware, reviving humanistic and challenging architectural egoistic arrogancy."

"Discussions on developing an introductory foundation to architecture are always intertwined with the complexities of the subject matter. Do we begin with theory, philosophy, (historical, societal, cultural, and physical) context, spatial exploration, structural understanding, material production, building science, or the ability to convey space visually? How do we sequence these courses in such a way that they are independently coherent and comprehensively capture all important aspects that define architecture? Should discussion of precedents be part or the foundation at all, considering each work holds different set of assumptions of what constitute great architecture, the role of architects in shaping the built environment, and which aspects ot architecture, therefore, should hold priorities over the others?"

This design study explores the narrative of heterotopic memory as the basis of architectural design. In particular, heterotopia is seen as a concept of quasi-architecture that layers physical architecture, where these spaces function as reflections and representations of existing social spaces. This concept allows for an overlap between reality and imagination, creating a space with symbolic and metaphorical meanings. The existence and memory of each individual play a significant role in creating heterotopia. If both are lost, can humans perpetuate and continually celebrate the collections of memories in their lives? This study is conducted by juxtaposing memories, celebrating my personal memories towards my grandmother’s house. Through the potential of layering the memories, such explorations will then create a new heterotopia. The mnemonic technique is used to transform the memory attached to objects into a portal fragment that forms a new heterotopia. Based on the study, various possibilities of portals are created, leading us to a new heterotopia from the memory of grandmother’s house. Such layerings of heterotopic memory can contribute to expanding the architectural design method driven by narratives."
