"This paper reviews and assesses emerging issues in retirement systems and pension reform in Malaysia. The pension system models proposed by the ILO, the World Bank and the Geneva Association are compared and analysed, providing a useful conceptual framework for the design and reform of pension systems. This framework is then used to assess pension reforms in Malaysia, analysing the relative advantages and disadvantages for workers. The authors conclude by proposing a number of recommendations for retirement system design and reform"

"ABSTRAK
Dampak psikologis sering menyertai kehidupan masa pensiun, hal itu terjadi
karena tidak setiap orang sama dalam menyikapi masa-masa pensiun.Tujuan dari
penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas program konseling dalam
upaya merubah citra negatif pensiun dini pegawai. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan
bahwa program intervensi konseling yang dilakukan oleh psikolog memiliki hasil
yang signifikan untuk merubah citra negatif pensiun dini pegawai dibanding
konseling yang dilakukan oleh unsur pimpinan. Hal ini dapat menjadi suatu
indikasi bahwa citra negatif pensiun dini berdampak secara psikologis kepada
para pegawai yang akan menjalaninya.

Abstract
Psychological impact often accompanies retirement life, this is because not
everyone is the same in dealing with periods of retiremet. The purpose of this
study was to determine the effectiveness of counseling programs in an effort to
change the negative image of the early retirement of employees in the Office of
XYZ. The results showed that the intervention program conducted by counseling
psychologists have significant results to change the negative image of the early
retirement of employees than the counseling conducted by the leadership. This
can be an indication that the negative image of the psychological impact of early
retirement to employees who will live it."

"This book argues that the weakening of public and employer-sponsored social safety nets in several countries will permanently increase pre-retirees? risk-anxiety and create pressure towards readjustment of their expectations about the quality of their lives in retirement. The result will be to raise the priority of achieving effective comprehensive retirement related risk management. This achievement requires an emphasis upon the cascading of linked risks, and careful attention to the optimization of scarce resources used to manage those linked risks. Professional financial and retirement planning advisors comprise a key source of help. This book develops new knowledge concerning the factors that help to explain three important aspects of access to these professional advisors. The results of this analysis are used to illustrate the process of identifying distinctive population segments, key demographics, on the basis of multiple population attributes treated simultaneously. The illustration is further extended with an identification of distinctive population segments relative to performance on a composite indicator of the conduct of multiple retirement risk management activities. The book also discusses implications of the pattern of gender differences in preparedness to address retirement?s challenges, highlighting subgroups of women in which inadequate preparedness is pronounced. "[ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini membahas fenomena pengkaryaan kembali pekerja senior pasca
pensiun di perusahaan menufaktur Jepang. Jepang yang merupakan negara dengan
penuaan populasi tercepat no 1 di dunia mengalami masalah dalam demografi
penududuknya. Sementara itu, pemerintah semakin gencar melancarkan upaya-upaya
untuk membuat Jepang bangkit dari resesi ekonominya sejak tahun 1990-an. Salah
satunya adalah menghimbau setiap dari masyarakat yang masih mampu bekerja untuk
berkontribusi pada sektor ketenagakerjaan demi tercapainya strategi pertumbuhan
ekonomi. Salah satu kelompok yang didorong adalah pekerja senior pasca pensiun
pada perusahaan manufaktur Jepang. Himbauan tersebut disambut baik dengan mulai
banyaknya perusahaan yang mengadopsi sistem tersebut dengan berbagai alasan,
yakni angka harapan hidup yang meningkat, adanya himbauan pemerintah kepada
masyarakat, kebutuhan perusahaan akan pekerja senior, gaji dan pandangan
perusahaan terhadap pekerja muda. Kondisi pekerja senior pasca pensiun pada
umumnya sama dengan kondisi mereka sebelum dikaryakan kembali, namun
perbedaan yang paling menonjol ada pada penerimaan gaji yang berkurang dari gaji
sebelumnya. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa fenomena pengkaryaan kembali
pekerja senior pasca pensiun merupakan akibat dari perubahan-perubahan sosial yang
terjadi dalam masyarakat Jepang saat ini.

ABSTRACT
This study discusses about the phenomenon of the re-employed senior workers after
retirement in Japan?s manufacturing companies. Japan is a country with the fastest
aging population in the world that has many problems in its population demographic.
Meanwhile, the government launched intensifying efforts to make Japan rises from its
economic recession since the 1990s. One of the efforts is call on each of the people
who is still able to work to contribute to the employment sector in order to achieve
economic growth strategy. One of the encouraged groups is the post-retirement senior
workers in Japan?s manufacturing companies. The call on was well received while a
number of companies were adopting this system with several different reasons
namely life expectancy increases, the government calls to the people, the needs of the
company's senior workers, the salary and the company's view of the young workers.
The conditions of the post-retirement senior worker are generally same as their
conditions before re-employed, but the most notable difference is in their salary
receiving which is less than the previous salary. This study concludes that the
phenomenon of the re-employed senior workers after retirement is the result of social

"Penentuan usia pensiun yang tepat menjadi penting agar seseorang dapat menikmati masa pensiun dengan nyaman. Untuk menunjang kebutuhan finansial di masa pensiun, seseorang dapat mengikuti program pensiun. Program pensiun di Indonesia terbagi menjadi dua skema, yaitu skema manfaat pasti dan skema iuran pasti. Dari sisi peserta, skema iuran pasti dapat memberikan kesempatan bagi peserta untuk memaksimalkan pendapatan pensiun yang diterima, tergantung pada iuran yang dibayarkan dan hasil pengembangan investasinya. Oleh karena itu, dalam penelitian ini, dibangun sebuah model keputusan pensiun two-thirds untuk peserta program pensiun iuran pasti (PPIP). Model keputusan pensiun two-thirds merupakan model yang memberikan aturan atau indikator bahwa seseorang dapat pensiun jika pendapatan pensiun nya lebih besar atau sama dengan dua pertiga penghasilan terakhirnya sesaat sebelum pensiun. Untuk mensimulasikan model ini, digunakan model Vasicek berdasarkan data suku bunga BI untuk memperhitungkan faktor anuitas hidup dan model Double Exponential Smoothing berdasarkan data harga saham BBCA untuk memperhitungkan tingkat pengembalian saham. Pada akhirnya, simulasi model keputusan pensiun two-thirds dijalankan untuk peserta yang mendaftar menjadi peserta PPIP pada usia 35 tahun dengan penghasilan sebesar Rp15.000.000/bulan dan membayarkan iuran sebesar 20% dari penghasilan nya kepada Dana Pensiun. Dengan asumsi batas maksimum usia peserta atau batas akhir usia mendapatkan pendapatan pensiun adalah 75 tahun, diperoleh usia pensiun yang ideal untuk peserta tersebut dibawah model keputusan pensiun two-thirds adalah 64 tahun.

n Indonesia are divided into two schemes, namely the defined benefit scheme and the defined contribution scheme. From the participant's perspective, a defined contribution scheme can provide an opportunity for participants to maximize the retirement income received, depending on the contributions paid and the results of investment return. Therefore, in this study, a two-thirds retirement decision model for defined contribution (DC) pension plan is built. The two-thirds retirement decision model is a model that provides a rule or indicator that a person can retire if his/her pension income is greater than or equal to two-thirds of his/her last income just before retirement. To simulate this model, the Vasicek model based on BI interest rate data is used to account for the life annuity factor and the Double Exponential Smoothing model based on BBCA stock price data is used to account for stock returns. Finally, the two-thirds retirement decision model simulation is run for a participant who enrolls in DC pension plan at the age of 35 with an income of Rp15,000,000/month and pays contributions of 20% of income to the Pension Fund. Assuming the maximum age of the participant or the end of retirement income payments is at age 75 years old, the ideal retirement age for this participant under the two-thirds retirement decision model is 64 years old."
