"Penelitian ini membahas mengenai kolaborasi antara writing center dan layanan referensi di Perpustakaan Sampoerna University. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat kesiapan pustakawan dan mendeskripsikan persepsi mahasiswa dan tutor writing center mengenai potensi kolaborasi kedua layanan tersebut. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Informan dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa yang pernah memanfaatkan layanan di writing center, tutor writing center, dan pustakawan Perpustakaan Sampoerna University. Teknik pemilihan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pustakawan siap dengan kolaborasi tersebut dilihat dari SDM dan koleksi yang dimiliki oleh perpustakaan. Mahasiswa dan tutor pun menjelaskan bahwa kolaborasi layanan tersebut akan berkesinambungan dan menghasilkan suatu yang positif dalam membantu mahasiswa dalam penulisan karya ilmiahnya, namun harus didukung oleh kebijakan yang jelas dan terstruktur.

This study discusses the collaboration between writing center and reference service in Library of Sampoerna University. This study aims to see the readiness of librarians and to describe the perceptions of students and tutors of writing center about the potential collaboration of both services.

The research is conducted using qualitative research method with descriptive studies. Informants in this research are students who have utilized the writing center, tutor of writing center, and librarian in Library of Sampoerna University. Sample selection technique is done by using purposive sampling technique.

The results in this study show that librarians are ready for the collaboration, viewed from the human resources and collections owned by the library. Students and tutors explain that the collaboration of these services will be sustainable and it enables students to write paper easier as long as is supported by a clear and structured policy."

"ABSTRAKDespite adequate documentation of monograph arrearages in academic libraries, backlogs of music materials for the entire library community have gone unreported. In confirming the existence of music backlogs, it also becomes necessary to address questions concerning how the grew, what causes these backlogs to continue, and what it might take to eliminate them. In a survey of institutional subscribers to the Music Cataloging Bulletin, libraries were asked to quantify their uncataloged scores and sound recordings and to describe their music cataloging staff and procedures. Of the 358 participating libraries, 77% reported having music backlogs. These backlogs grew primarily as a result of large acquisitions and gifts without corresponding staffing staff to process them. Respondents also cited lack of knowledgeable staff as a deterrent to the reduction and elimination of the backlog."
