productivity (TFP). Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa partisipasi industri UBT dalam
IFN signifikan meningkatkan TFP. Selain itu, tingkat pendidikan pekerja juga
signifikan meningkatkan TFP.

ABSTRACT
Indonesia's participation in the International Fragmentation Network (IFN) trade
has increased from year to year. Correspondingly, foreign companies (MNC) that
produce their products in Indonesia are also growing. This study aims to determine
whether Indonesia's participation in the IFN and the entry of MNC can improve
productivity and provide transfer of technology and knowledge to domestic
industry. The data used is data sub-sectors of industry (2-digit) from the class of
High Technology-Based Industries (UBT) in the period from 2002 to 2010, and the
productivity and technology transfer was measured using a proxy of total factor
productivity (TFP). Research shows that UBT industry?s participation in the IFN
significantly improving TFP. In addition, the educational level of workers also
significantly increase TFP. However, in this study, there was no evidence to suggest
that domestic enterprises in the UBT industry have spillover benefit from IFN
activities undertaken by the MNC."

This study analyzes the impact of knowledge spillover on the productivity of
the manufacturing industry in Indonesia during 2010-2014. There are two paths
analyzed in this dissertation research. The first is through the inter-sector path,
namely the linkage between industries in a vertical relationship (suppliercustomer)
through a supply chain network which is divided into two channels: 1)
Economic distance (input-output), through transaction activities of intermediate
goods on: a) Upstream namely between the industry (as a customer) that transacts
with its upstream industry (as a supplier); and b) Downstream, namely between
industries (as suppliers) transacting with their downstream industries (as
customers); and 2) Technology proximity, through inter-industry linkages in
different sector (high-tech – low-tech) and intra-industry linkages in similar sector
(high-high and low-low). The second is through the inter-region path, namely the
linkages where knowledge spillover flows through industrial agglomerations that
are geographically close and have technological proximity.
By using the Intersectoral Durbin Model (IDM) dan industry-firm model,
intersectoral spillover is analyzed by regressing the total factor productivity (TFP)
with industry internal factors and industry external factors in backward linkage
and forward linkages. Meanwhile, interregional spillover is analyzed using the
Spatial Durbin Model (SDM) and Moran-I methods, where the total factor
productivity (TFP) is regressed with the characteristics of the region's own
internal factors (which are the accumulation of industrial input factors, industrial
agglomeration and the region's infrastructure itself ) and external factors ftrom the
nearest region which are the weighted weight of the inverse geographic distance
between regions (Regency and City).
This study concludes that knowledeg spillover has a positive impact on
productivity through the downstream spillover effect from inter-industry linkages
(high-tech - low-tech) and upstream spillover effect from intra-industry linkages
(high-high and low-low), based on inter-sector path. Meanwhile, knowledge
spillover has a positive impact on productivity through industrial agglomeration in
areas that are geographically close to each other and have a similar technological
profile especially in the high-tech sector, based on inter-region path. Another
important finding is that investment in human capital and physical capital is a
prerequisite for absorbing technological knowledge and reducing technological
gaps from more advanced company/industry.

ABSTRACT
Service sectors play an important role as input for other sectors and enablers for all economic activities. Production activities in manufacturing firms are inseparable from the existence of the service sector, as the service sector has an important role to facilitate the production process. This paper examines the impact of service openness on the Total Factor Productivity TFP of manufacturing firms in Indonesia through mode 3 commercial presence over the period of 2010 2015. While adding the issues of endogeneity in services reform, this study uses instrumental variable regression and fixed effect regression. Using two kind of the data, FDI inflow and STRI OECD weighted by services input share, it show that service openness have impact on manufacturing productivity at firm level. However, when we estimate each service sector electricity, gas and water services construction services transportation, warehouse and telecommunications services different results are obtained. Among these three sectors, only openness in the transportation, warehouse and telecommunications services sectors that have an impact on the increase in productivity of manufacturing companies and others does not show significant results.
