"Academic procrastination was often doing by college students (Ellis & Knaus, in Solomon & Rothblum, 1984). One of the factors that influence academic procrastination is how the people look themself. The person who look themself poorly and engage with fear of failure have a tendency to avoid evaluating with others (Vohs & Heatherton, 2004). Social comparison constructed into two dimensions are ability and opinion (Gibbons & Buunk, 1999). So, the researcher conducted a study to find the relationship between social comparison and academic procrastination among college students. Social comparison is measured using Iowa-Netherlands Comparison Orientation Measureproposed (INCOM) and academic procrastination is measured using Procrastination Assessment Scale for Students (PASS). The participants of this study are 211 participants (150 female," "61 male) that selected by non-random sampling (accidental sampling). The result show that in general, there is no significant relationship between social comparison about ability dimension and academic procrastination (R= 0,116; p=0,120). Then, there’s a significant relationship between social comparison about opinion dimension and academic procrastination (R= -0,191; p= 0,0110, significant at los 0,05).

Starting a new life in college is never an easy thing for adolescents. A lot of changes and challenges must be experienced, whether it is academic matter, social environment, or attachment to the chosen major. In order to survive, new college students need to do some adjustments which is usually called college adjustment. One of the important adjustments in college is academic adjustment. From various factors that might influence academic adjustment, family has an important role. The purpose of this research is to identify relationships between family functioning and academic adjustment among the freshmen students in University of Indonesia. The participants are 315 freshmen from 13 faculties and Vokasi program. Family functioning is measured by Family Adaptability and Cohesion Evaluation Scale (FACES), made by Olson, Bell, and Joyce in 1978 and Family Communication Scale, made by Olson and Barnes in 1982. Academic adjustment is measured by Student Adaptation to College Questionnaire, made by Baker and Siryk. The result of this research showed that there is no significant relationship between family functioning and academic adjustment among freshmen students in Universitas Indonesia. This is caused by other factors which might have stronger corelation and need further examination such as internal motivation and peer."

College students meet academic challenges and setbacks on a daily basis that they have to face. Those academic challenges and difficulties are different than the previous education levels. This research is using Self Determination Theory perspective and aimed to examine the contibution of motivation external regulation, introjected regulation, identified regulation, and intrinsic motivation to predict academic buoyancy. The sample of this study is 463 undergraduate college students in University of Indonesia female 75 The research method of this study is quantitative method, with statistical analyses of Multiple Regression. The measurement of motivation was using The Academic Self Regulation Scale Vansteenkiste, Sierens, Soenens, Luyckx, Lens 2009, and the measurement of academic buoyancy was using Academic Buoyancy Scale Martin Marsh, 2008. The results indicate that the higher introjected regulation, the lower academic buoyancy. Furthermore, the higher identified regualtion and intrinsic motvation, the higher academic buoyancy. The implication of this study is that intrinsic motivation which derived from within oneself can predict adaptive behavior in the face of everyday academic challenges and setbacks. "
