"Since the last five years, Faculty of Dentistry Universitas Indonesia has implemented an integrated curriculum as a process of change from teacher centered to student centered learning, as well as problem based learning, community based and practicing in a small group discussion. The dental curriculum is divided separately into seven semesters for academic and followed by three semesters for clinical years. The aim of this qualitative study is to evaluate the implementation of the integrated curriculum. Evaluation of this five year program showed less than 10% of the 5th year students were able to finish their study on time. Most of the students needed more than three semesters to complete the clinical requirements; therefore, the recent curriculum should be revised."

"Special needs patients (SNP) have diffculty accessing dental services, partly due to reluctance of dentists to treat them. Objective: We assess didactic and clinical training experiences of fnal-year dental students and new graduates in managing SNP. Methods: An online questionnaire was sent to 123 fnal year dental students and new graduates, assessing their experiences and readiness in handling SNP. Results: Majority of the respondents were not confdent in attending to SNP. Majority gained knowledge in handling SNP via lectures while more than half had managed patients with complex medical history. Majority mentioned a lack of clinical training to treat SNP as their dental training experience had only been in a dental school clinical setting. Most of the respondents hope their curriculum would include more education to improve clinical skills in managing SNP. Conclusion: Respondents demonstrated minimum training and lack of confdence and skills that might contribute to a lack of preparedness to manage the oral health care needs of SNP. Clinical exposure in managing SNP at the undergraduate level is still inadequate and it needs to be emphasized in the curriculum."

"Kesehatan gigi dan mulut merupakan permasalahan kesehatan masyarakat yang merata di Indonesia, memengaruhi individu dari berbagai kelompok usia. Kesehatan gigi yang buruk tidak hanya mengurangi kualitas hidup tetapi juga meningkatkan risiko penyakit sistemik seperti penyakit kardiovaskular dan diabetes. Tingginya prevalensi masalah gigi seperti karies, kehilangan gigi, dan penyakit gusi menunjukkan perlunya strategi promosi kesehatan yang efektif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi dampak berbagai metode edukasi dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan pasien tentang kesehatan gigi dan mulut di Rumah Sakit Gigi dan Mulut Fakultas Kedokteran Gigi Universitas Indonesia. Dengan menilai efektivitas pendekatan ini, penelitian ini bertujuan memberikan wawasan dalam meningkatkan praktik kebersihan gigi dan kesehatan umum pasien.

Poor oral health not only diminishes quality of life but also exacerbates risks for systemic diseases such as cardiovascular conditions and diabetes. The prevalence of dental problems like cavities, tooth loss, and gum disease underscores the urgent need for effective health promotion strategies. This study focuses on evaluating the impact of various educational methods on enhancing patients' knowledge of dental and oral health at the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Indonesia Dental Hospital. By assessing the effectiveness of these approaches, the research aims to contribute insights into improving oral hygiene practices and overall health outcomes among patients."

"Tesis ini berisi tentang studi kurikulum tersembunyi madrasah. Studi ini dilakukan di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Assubkiyah, yang merupakan salah satu Sekolah Islam Unggulan di Kota Bekasi, Jawa Barat. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan studi kasus, data-data yag dikumpulkan dalam studi ini berasal dari wawancara mendalam, observasi dan studi dokumen. Dengan menggunakan kerangka teori praktik Piere Bourdieu, pembahasan kurikulum tersebunyi dikaitkan dengan posisi objektif agen-agen madrasah yang ditentukan berdasarkan modal yang dimiliki juga terkait dengan habitus agen-agen madrasah yang memberikan pengaruh terhadap implementasi kurikulum tersembunyi madrasah serta produk yang dihasilkan dari berbagai dinamika yang terjadi dalam implementasi kurikulum tersembunyi madrasah.
Berdasarkan hasil studi, ditemukan bahwa kepala madrasah memiliki posisi dominan dalam konteks implementasi kurikulum tersembunyi madrasah karena memiliki modal yang relatif besar dibandingkan dengan guru dan orang tua yang berada dalam posisi marjinal. Dominasi tersebut, pada gilirannya, mengontrol skema tindakan agen-agen madrasah lainnya kendati dalam berbagai prosesnya dibuka berbagai ruang partisipasi yang memungkinkan agen-agen marjinal mengambil peran dalam proses pendidikan madrasah yang dapat meminimalisasi tensi-tensi yang dapat menyebabkan konflik di antara mereka. Skema tindakan tersebut merupakan habitus agen-agen madrasah yang lebih menekankan pada aspek keislaman kendati masingmasing agen tersebut memiliki bobot yang berbeda terkait dengan aspek keislaman tersebut.
Lain dari itu, bahwa dominasi kepala madrasah secara tidak sadar ditentukan juga oleh keengganan agen-agen marjinal untuk mengambil peran dalam proses pendidikan karena berbagai alasan yang memungkinkan agen-agen marjinal bertahan dan dapat menjaga kepentingannya. Namun demikian, adanya dominasi itu juga tidak serta merta menjadikan kepala madrasah semena-mena dalam menjalankan proses pendidikan. Bahkan, dominasi tersebut berujung pada beban kerja kepala madrasah yang lebih banyak ketimbang agen-agen madrasah lainnya agar tidak keluar dari nilainilai keislaman yang merupakan habitus madrasah dan sesuai dengan aturan-aturan yang telah ditetapkan oleh negara.
Dominasi tersebut juga memungkinkan agen dominan untuk melakukan barbagai penyesuaian aturan main yang didasarkan pada habitus keislaman madrasah untuk meminimalisasi konflik di antara para agen madrasah dan sebagai strategi untuk meningkatkan posisi tawar madrasah di masyarakat dan negara. Hasil dari semua itu, terjadinya proses pendidikan yang sepenuhnya fokus pada penanaman aspek-aspek keislaman tetapi masih dapat memenuhi berbagai kebijakan-kebijakan negara terkait kurikulum yang telah ditetapkan. Bahkan, mencapai hasil yang relatif baik.

This thesis contains a study of the hidden curriculum of madrasah. This study was conducted at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Assubkiyah, one of excellent Islamic Schools in Bekasi, West Java. By using a qualitative approach with case study, the data collected in this study came from in-depth interviews, observation and document study. By using Piere Bourdieu's practice theory framework, the discussion of hidden curriculum is connected to the objective position of madrasah agents determined based on the owned capital and also related to madrasah agents habitus giving influences upon the implementation of the hidden curriculum of madrasah and the products produced from various dynamics occurring in the implementation of madrasah hidden curriculum.
Based on the result of the study, it is found that the principal has a dominant position in the context of the implementation of madrasah hidden curriculum because he has relatively large capital compared to teachers and parents existing in a marginal position. The domination, in turns, controls the action schemes of other madrasah agents even though in the various processes, various spaces of participation allowing marginal agents to take part in the education process of madrasah that can minimize tension that can lead to conflicts among them is opened. The action scheme is madrasah agents habitus providing more emphasis on Islamic aspects although each agent has different weights dealing with the Islamic aspects.
Furthermore, the domination of the headmaster is unconsciously determined also by the reluctance of marginal agents to take part in the education process for various reasons allowing marginal agents to survive and maintain their interests. However, the domination does not necessarily make the headmaster run the educational process arbitrarily. In fact, the domination leads to the workload of headmaster more than the other madrasah agents so that it is not out of Islamic values as madrasah habitus and in accordance with the rules set by the state.
The domination also allows dominant agents to perform various rule adjustments based on madrasah Islamic habitus to minimize conflicts among the madrasah agents and as a strategy to improve the bargaining position of madrasah in the community and the state. The overall result, the educational process is fully focused on the growing of Islamic aspects but still can meet various state policies dealing with the curriculum that has been established. In fact, it achieves relatively good results.
