"This paper is an attempt to explore the features of Indonesia’s post-New Order regime in terms of the reorganization of the spatial, economic, and socio-political order in the Jabodetabek region. Although buoyant property investments in the last seven to eight years significantly changed the skyline of the metropolis, this paper reveals that the basic pattern did not alter after the regime change, with major developers taking control of vast areas of suburban land and creating an oligopolistic order. This paper argues that this continuity was due greatly to the developers’ ability to organize and protect their collective interests through business associations and strong ties with political parties and the administration. The paper concludes that the emerging new regime comprises privatized urban governance in satellite cities, a dual government arrangement, and widening socio-spatial cleavages. So far, the tension inherent in this arrangement has been contained by measures such as the privatization of security and the political mobilization of Islam."

This research aims to explain the reason of Indonesia action not to fully implements ASEAN SAM protocols which are described in Multilateral Agreement on Air Services MAAS, Multilateral Agreement on Full Liberalisation of Air Freight Services MAFLAFS, and Multilateral Agreement on Full Liberalisation of Passenger Air Services MAFLPAS. In 2016, Indonesia has already ratified those three agreements. However, until now, Indonesia only opens access to all ASEAN airlines in five main airports. The partial implementation done by Indonesia inspite of ratification makes an intriguing question to be the base of this research. This research would use ACF to answer the problem stated above. The research found that the partial implementation of ASEAN SAM in Indonesia is the result of political struggle between competing coalitions with diverse interests. The result of the research show the resistant coalition has the competitive edges in interest and access against the competing coalitions. This made the resistant coalitions could advance its interest in national arena. The research, viewed in wider context, shows the obstacle faced by Indonesia on the development of ASEAN regionalism agenda. ASEAN SAM shows Indonesia has substantial nationalist agenda in its economic policy."

Since 1968 to the 1970s South Korean investment in Indonesia was more inclined into forestry and timber industries, especially in log production. However, on May 8th 1980 the Indonesian government imposed a gradual ban on logging exports and totally banned in 1985. While in the late 1980s there was an increase of South Korean investment in the manufacturing industry which affected changes of South Korean investment pattern to be inclined in manufacturing industry. Starting from that, this research exists to reveal how the change in South Korean investment patterns in Indonesia from the forestry and timber industry to the manufacturing industry and whether the 1980 log export ban also influenced the change. Using historical methods, this study found that the main factor in changing South Korean investment patterns was first, deregulation policy of the Indonesian government during the 1980s that changed the trend of anti-exports to become export-oriented. Second, an increase in production costs and the rise of labor demonstrations in South Korea during the late 1980s that led to the large-scale South Korean manufacturing companies coming to Indonesia. It was also found that the 1980 ban on log exports affected South Korean investment interest in the forestry and timber industries in Indonesia."

This study aims to explain the foreign investment promotion strategy in the passenger airport sector carried out by Indonesia in the 2016-2019 ASEAN Open Sky era. The concept used is the stages of economic diplomacy according to Kishan Rana. This research uses qualitative methods through collecting data from the literature and interviews and triangulation as a way to verify the data. The result of this research is that ASEAN Open Sky has become a spur for Indonesia to develop the aviation industry, especially airport air transportation infrastructure. The Indonesian government carried out four strategies in an effort to attract foreign investment in the airport sector, namely placing diplomatic representatives in six strategic partner countries and harmonizing the three layers of actors who played the role of economic salesmanship. Then, the Government of Indonesia encourages involvement in airport management networks such as the Airports International Council and ASEAN STOM to expand relations between economic salesmanship actors. In addition, the Government of Indonesia is promoting the image of the airport as a tourism supporting infrastructure introduced by economic salesmanship actors in international networks and forums. Finally, the Government of Indonesia is improving regulations at the domestic level with a PPP scheme for foreign investors in the airport sector. The conclusion of this study is that the Indonesian government has implemented a number of strategies, namely sending diplomatic representatives in partner countries, expanding international networks, combining the tourism and airport sectors as an investment package and PPP scheme, but this strategy cannot be said to be absolute and successful because of strong domestic political upheaval. also affect the performance of the strategy that has been formed. Based on these findings, there needs to be an effort to maximize the strategies undertaken to achieve Indonesia's economic and political interests in aviation in the ASEAN region."
