"Skripsi ini membahas tentang strategi preservasi digital yang digunakan di Perpustakaan Pusat Studi Al Qur'an (PSQ) dan permasalahan yang dihadapi dalam melakukan preservasi digital tersebut beserta solusi yang digunakan untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan desain deskriptif. Data penelitian ini data diperoleh melalui wawancara, observasi, dan analisis dokumen yang dikumpulkan, direduksi, diinterpretasikan, dan disajikan ke dalam bentuk narasi. Abstract The focus of this study is about digital preservation strategy that used in Center of Qur'anic Studies Library and the problems involved in doing the digital preservation with the solution that used in solving those problems. This study is a qualitative research with descriptive design. This research data were acquired by interview, observation, and document analysis that were collected, reducted, interpretated, and presented in narration order. The result of this study show that strategy that used by The Center of Qur'anic Studies Library in preserving their digital collections comprise of technology preservation, migration, and emulation."

"ABSTRACTPenelitian ini membahas preservasi digital e-local content di Perpustakaan Badan Pengkajian dan Penerapan Teknologi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi strategi preservasi digital e-local content yang dilakukan oleh Perpustakaan BPPT. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Dalam penelitian ini data diperoleh melalui wawancara, observasi, dan studi kepustakaan. "Beberapa buku terbitan Balai Pustaka merupakan karya intelektual anak bangsa sejak pendudukan Belanda (1917), Jepang (1942) hingga pasca kemerdekaan Indonesia. Koleksi tersebut masih dapat ditemui di Perpustakaan Heritage Balai Pustaka. Mengingat kondisi fisik yang menua, perlu penanganan khusus. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kegiatan yang dilakukan oleh Perpustakaan Heritage Balai Pustaka dalam merawat dan memelihara koleksi buku langka, baik fisik maupun isinya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi wawancara, observasi dan analisis dokumen. Pemilihan informan penelitian dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa berdasarkan teori Piramida Preservasi, Perpustakaan Heritage Balai Pustaka belum melakukan kegiatan pelestarian fisik koleksi buku langka melalui kegiatan konservasi aktif dan restorasi. Akan tetapi, perpustakaan melakukan upaya penting untuk melestarikan nilai yang terkandung dalam koleksi buku langka dengan digitalisasi. Kebijakan preservasi, anggaran, dan sumber daya manusia menjadi kendala dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan pelestarian.

Books published by Balai Pustaka are intellectual works of the nation's children since the Dutch occupation (1917), Japan (1942) until post-independent era. It can still be found in the Balai Pustaka Heritage Library. Considering the physical condition that are aging, special treatment is needed. This study aims to determine the activities carried out by the Balai Pustaka Heritage Library in caring and maintaining a collection of rare books, both physically and the contents. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. Data collection techniques include interviews, observation and document analysis. Research informants were selected by purposive sampling technique. The results showed that based on the Preservation Pyramid theory, Balai Pustaka Heritage Library has not carried out physical preservation activities for rare book collection through active conservation and restoration activities. However, the library has made an effort to preserve the values contained in the collection of rare books by digitizing them. Preservation policies, budgets, and human resources are obstacles to the implementation of preservation activities."

"Meningkatnya volume informasi yang dihasilkan dalam format digital dan adanya perubahan paradigma baru dimana pemanfaatan teknologi semakin meningkat, sehingga kompleksitas arsip juga semakin tinggi menjadi tantangan bagi lembaga arsip di era digital saat ini. Namun, tidak semua informasi digital yang dihasilkan memiliki nilai jangka panjang atau menjadi komponen penting. Diperlukan seleksi, kurasi, dan pelestarian jangka panjang agar informasi tersebut dapat digunakan di masa depan. Dalam mengelola kegiatan pelestarian kearsipan, organisasi harus memiliki arsiparis atau pegawai yang memiliki kemampuan di bidang tersebut. Penelitian menganalisis kompetensi apa saja yang telah dimiliki oleh arsiparis di Indonesia dan mengidentifikasi hambatan yang dimilikinya dalam kurasi digital. Metode kuantitatif digunakan dengan menyebarkan kuesioner pada 57 arsiparis di Indonesia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa arsiparis memiliki kompetensi yang tinggi dalam kurasi digital ditinjau dari kompetensi kognitif, kompetensi fungsional, kompetensi sosial, dan meta-kompetensinya.

The increasing volume of information generated in digital format and the emergence of a new paradigm where technology utilization is on the rise, resulting in higher complexity of archives, poses challenges for archival institutions in the current digital era. However, not all digital information generated holds long-term value or serves as critical components. Selection, curation, and long-term preservation are necessary to ensure that such information can be utilized in the future. In managing archival preservation activities, organizations must have archivists or employees with relevant expertise. This research analyzes the competencies possessed by archivists in Indonesia and identifies the barriers they face in digital curation. A quantitative method was employed by distributing questionnaires to 57 archivists in Indonesia. The research findings indicate that archivists have a high level of competency in digital curation, as assessed through cognitive, functional, social, and meta-competencies."

"Skripsi ini membahas Preservasi Koleksi Foto di Rekso Pustoko Mangkunegaran Surakarta. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan komponen kegiatan preservasi foto dan mengidentifikasi penyebab kerusakan. Pengambilan data dilakukan secara kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode studi kasus meliputi observasi, wawancara, dan studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian ini adalah terpenuhinya komponen piramida preservasi Teygeler yaitu preventive conservation, passive conservation dan active conservation. Komponen yang belum terpenuhi yaitu restoration. Faktor penyebab kerusakan koleksi foto diantaranya adalah faktor usia, pemudaran warna, dimakan serangga atau rayap, pengaruh suhu dan lingkungan yang tidak sesuai, vandalisme, dan bencana alam. Kendala yang dihadapi Rekso Pustoko dalam upaya preservasi foto yaitu kurangnya sumber daya manusia, anggaran, dan fasilitas pendukung.

This mini-thesis describes preservation of photo collection conducted in Rekso Pustoko Mangkunegaran Surakarta. The purpose of this study is to describe the components of photo preservation activities and to identify the causes of damage. Data collecting used qualitative and case study methods. The data was collected through observations, interviews, and literatures. The result of this research was the fulfillment of a pyramid component of Teygeler preservation those are preventive, passive and active conservations.

Components that have not been fulfilled are restoration. Damage factors contributed to the collection of photographs including the factor of age, color fading, eaten by insects or termites, the effect of temperature, and the incompatible environment, vandalism, and natural disasters. Problem faced by Rekso Pustoko in photo preservation efforts are the lack of human resources, budget, and support facilities."

Penelitian ini dilakukan berdasarkan enam tahap proses preservasi pengetahuan dari World Bank (1998). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pengetahuan tacit yang dimiliki pengelola merupakan pengetahuan yang penting dalam pengelolaan perpustakaan komunitasdan sebagian kecil preservasi pengetahuan telah dilakukan secara tidak sadar oleh pengelola, khususnya tahap diseminasi pengetahuan. Akan tetapi, pengelola belum menyadari bahwa pengetahuan yang dimilikinya dan pengetahuan relawan yang terlibat merupakan aset penting dalam pengelolaan Rumah Baca Zikri. Selain itu, melalui preservasi pengetahuan ini dapat ditangkap beberapa maknakeberadaan Rumah Baca Zikri yaitu seperti nilai kekeluargaan, kebersamaan, kerja sama, keikhlasan, pengorbanan, tanggung jawab, kemandirian, kemanusiaan serta terdapat juga unsur kepercayaan;This research aims to understand the knowledge preservation in communitylibrary, to indentify the important knowledge that have to be preserved in a community library, to identify the core problem of knowledge loss and to analyze the values which are embedded in community library. The research was conducted by using qualitative method with case study approach that mainly focused on the interpretation of owner/manager’s knowledge and the experiences of volunteers, users and surrounding neighbors. This research is based on the sixsteps of knowledge preservation from World Bank (1998). The result shows that owner’s tacit knowledge is an essential knowledge to maintain the library and also reveals that few of the six steps have already been done, especially the knowledge dissemination phase. Unfortunately, the owner has not yet realized that his knowledge is an important asset to manage his library. Aside from that, by doingthis research, some values that are embedded in community library such as, kinship, togetherness, team work, sincerity, sacrifice, independency, humanity, and also personal trust can also be gathered, This research aims to understand the knowledge preservation in communitylibrary, to indentify the important knowledge that have to be preserved in acommunity library, to identify the core problem of knowledge loss and to analyzethe values which are embedded in community library. "Studi ini berfokus pada pelestarian koleksi digital di Perpustakaan Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat Republik Indonesia (DPR RI). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi strategi pelestarian digital, menganalisis faktor pendukung dan faktor penghambat dalam melakukan kegiatan pelestarian digital di Perpustakaan DPR RI. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi dan wawancara dengan informan. Hasil penelitian dapat digambarkan bahwa koleksi digital yang terdapat di Perpustakaan DPR RI itu adalah kumpulan hasil digitalisasi dan kelahiran digital. Perpustakaan DPR RI telah melakukan strategi pelestarian digital dalam melestarikan koleksi digitalnya, strategi pelestarian digital yang diterapkan di Perpustakaan DPR RI mencakup strategi pelestarian teknologi, penyegaran, dan migrasi. This study focuses on the preservation of digital collections in the Library of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI). The purpose of this research is to identify digital preservation strategies, analyze supporting factors and inhibiting factors in carrying out digital preservation activities in the Republic of Indonesia Library of the Republic of Indonesia. This research was conducted using a qualitative approach with a case study method. The method of data collection is done by observation and interviews with informants. The results of the study can be illustrated that the digital collection contained in the Republic of Indonesia's Library of the Republic of Indonesia is a collection of digitalization and digital births. The Republic of Indonesia Library of the Republic of Indonesia has carried out a digital preservation strategy in preserving its digital collections, the digital preservation strategy adopted in the Library of the Republic of Indonesia includes the technology of preservation, refresher and migration strategies. As for the factors encountered in digital preservation, preserved files are exposed to viruses and hackers so that digital collection files are corrupted, and digital collection materials disappear suddenly and without a trace."
