Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan studi kasus. Langkah yang ditempuh adalah sebagai berikut. Dengan mendasarkan pada tindakan merupakan perwujudan dari pikiran atau gagasan, penulis menelusuri pemikiran pustakawan Mahkamah Agung mengenai kebijakan pengembangan koleksi dan praktik pelaksanaannya. Metode pengumpulan datanya melalui wawancara mendalam dan studi literatur. Hasil sementara ditinjau lebih jauh dengan menggunakan perspektif (teori) kebijakan pengembangan koleksi yang dijelaskan oleh Evans. Hasil yang dicapai adalah ditemukannya jarak dan kendala dalam "kebijakan pengembangan koleksi" yang ada pada saat ini yang semestinya ditingkatkan dan dilengkapi. Penulis mengusulkan suatu model kebijakan pengembangan koleksi Perpustakaan Mahkamah Agung yang diharapkan mengisi gap dan melengkapinya.

This research discusses about the practice of "the Collection Development Policy" in Mahkamah Agung special library. it aims to identify the real situation and advances suggestions to enhance its performance. This research is a qualitative research using the case study. The steps used are as follows. Based on, action is the manifestation of ideas or rationale, the writer kept track of the librarians? ideas on the collection development policy and its practice. The method used in data collecting is depth interview and literature studies.

The intermediate result is discussed further using the perspective of collection development policy as suggested by Evans. The result found gap and hindrance in the present "collection development policy" practiced by Mahkamah Agung special library which needs to be advanced and furnished. The writer suggests the collection development model to be used by the library."

"Pengembangan koleksi merupakan suatu proses yang harus dilakukan perpustakaan untuk menyesuaikan koleksi dengan kebutuhan pemustaka dan perkembangan informasi terbaru. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi proses pengembangan koleksi perpustakaan sekolah yang dilakukan oleh Perpustakaan SMA Kolese Gonzaga. Pertanyaan penelitiannya adalah bagaimana strategi Perpustakaan SMA Kolese Gonzaga dalam proses pengembangan koleksi agar tetap terbaru, relevan dengan kurikulum yang diterapkan, dan sesuai arah kebijakan pengembangan koleksi yang ada dan apa saja faktor pendukung dan penghambat dalam melakukan proses pengembangan koleksi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan studi kasus sebagai pendekatannya. Dalam hal pengambilan data, penelitian ini menggunakan teknik wawancara, observasi, dan analisis dokumen. Waktu pengambilan data dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret hingga April tahun 2023 dengan hasil penelitian yang menunjukkan bahwa Perpustakaan SMA Kolese Gonzaga selama ini melakukan pengembangan koleksinya yang mencakup analisis komunitas, kebijakan seleksi, seleksi, pengadaan, penyiangan, dan evaluasi. Pengembangan koleksi tersebut didasarkan pada Our Way of Proceeding yang merupakan buku pedoman sekolah yang berbasis visi misi dan kurikulum. Hal tersebut menjadikan pengembangan koleksi sesuai dengan kurikulum yang ada meskipun menimbulkan beberapa hambatan selama proses pelaksanaannya. Kesimpulannya adalah Perpustakaan SMA Kolese Gonzaga melakukan pengembangan koleksinya berdasarkan dokumen Our Way of Proceeding dengan strategi berdasarkan nilai kebersamaan dan multikulturalisme. Saran yang diajukan adalah perlu adanya kebijakan seleksi tertulis yang lebih rinci dan spesifik untuk meminimalisir hambatan selama pelaksanaan pengembangan koleksi.

Collection development is a process that must be carried out by the library to adapt the collection to the needs of users and the latest information developments. This research aims to explain the process of developing school library collections carried out by the Kolese Gonzaga High School Library. The formulation of the problem in this study is what the Kolese Gonzaga High School Library's strategy in the collection development process is kept up-to-date, relevant to the implemented curriculum, and in accordance with the existing collection development policy directions. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study as its approach. In terms of data collection, this study used interview, observation, and document analysis techniques. The time for data collection was carried out from March to April 2023 with research results showing that the Gonzaga Kolese High School Library has been carrying out collection development which includes community analysis, selection policies, selection, procurement, weeding, and evaluation. The collection development is based on Our Way of Proceeding which is a school manual based on vision, mission and curriculum. This makes collection development in accordance with the existing curriculum even though it creates several obstacles during the implementation process. The emerging strategy is value of togetherness and multiculturalism that forms the basis for all stages of collection development. The conclusion is that the Kolese Gonzaga High School Library develops its collection based on the Our Way of Proceeding document with strategy based on the values of togetherness and multiculturalism. The suggestion put forward is the need for a more detailed and specific written selection policy to minimize obstacles during the implementation of collection development."

"Penelitian ini membahas mengenai pengembangan koleksi anak di Perpustakaan Umum Kabupaten Bogor yang merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode studi kasus. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan bagaimana pustakawan menerapkan kebijakan pengembangan koleksi, yaitu kegiatan seleksi, pengadaan, pengolahan, pemeliharaan, dan penyiangan di layanan anak agar dapat memenuhi kebutuhan pemustaka anak sehingga kendala apa saja yang dihadapi dapat diketahui. Peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa pustakawan mengadakan pengembangan koleksi berdasarkan kemampuan dan pemahaman mereka dari kegiatan seleksi hingga penyiangan. Pedoman tertulis tidak dijadikan dasar dalam melakukan kegiatan pengembangan koleksi anak sehingga kemampuan dasar pustakawan menjadi utama agar kesesuaian koleksi anak dapat tercipta. Tidak adanya pedoman tertulis secara jelas, keterbatasan anggaran dan terbentur dengan kebijakan yang ada menyebabkan pustakawan tidak dapat secara maksimal mengembangkan mutu koleksi anak di Perpustakaan Umum Daerah Kabupaten Bogor.

This research is about children's collection development in Bogor Public Library. This is a qualitative research and it uses case study method. The purpose of this research is to describe how librarians apply collection development policy, which is the selection, acquisition, organization, preservation, and deselection in children's service. Throughout this research, we could get the idea the obstacles in fulfilling the needs of the users, i.e. the children, in children's collection.

It is concluded that Bogor Public Library librarians held collection development based on their ability and understanding about the library activities. There is no written guideline as a basis for collection development for children's collection. So, it is very important for the librarians to have librarianship skills in developing the children's collection. Moreover, there is limited amount in budget and in the policy itself so that librarians could not do their best in improving the quality of children's collection in Bogor public library."
