"Reserpine is the most important alkaloid content in Raufolvia serpentina benth. (Pule pandak) root to figure out the relationship of pule pandak morphological character with the reserpine contents, an observation based analysis was done. The environment, fertilizing treatment, and fenotipe observation data were collected and analyzed. In Pule Pandak cultivated at 600 m-450 m above sea level under the teaks (tectona grandis) or sengon (paraserianthes falcattaria), in latosol soil and fertilizer doses at 20 t/ha-30 t/ha, we found that the leaf numbers and root diameter would followed by the root's dry weight and the increase of root diameter will be followed by the increase of its reserpine content."

The development of eco-friendly composites has been increasing in the past four decades because the requirement of eco-friendly materials has been increasing. Indonesia has a lot of natural fiber resources and, pineapple leaf fiber is one of those fibers. This experiment aimed to determine the influence of weight fraction of pineapple leaf fibers, that were grown at Subang, to the tensile properties and the deflection temperature of polypropylene/Subang pineapple leaf fibers composites. Pineapple leaf fibers were pretreated by alkalization, while polypropylene pellets, as the matrix, were extruded into sheets. Hot press method was used to fabricate the composites.
The results of the tensile test and Heat Deflection Temperature (HDT) test showed that the composites that contained of 30 wt.% pineapple leaf fiber was the best composite. The values of tensile strength, modulus of elasticity and deflection temperature were (64,04 ± 3,91) MPa; (3,976 ± 3,91) GPa and (156,05 ± 1,77) °C respectively, in which increased 187,36%, 198,60%, 264,72% respectively from the pure polypropylene. The results of the observation on the fracture surfaces showed that the failure modes were fiber breakage and matrix failure.

"Several plants have been recently reported to possess anticancer potential. Allium cepa root tip assay is a preliminary study to assess the cytotoxic effect of plant extracts. The cytotoxic activity of plants can be correlated to their anticancer potential. Cytotoxic potential of Pogostemon heyneanus (Lamiaceae) was evaluated using A. cepa root meristematic cells. This study was aimed at analyzing cytotoxic potential of P. heyneanus using Allium cepa root tip assay. Four different concentrations of the aqueous leaf extracts at three different durations were examined. Distilled water was used as control. The extract was found to be cytotoxic at all tested concentrations, when compared to control. Mitotic index was found to be decreasing with the increase in extract concentrations and treatment durations. The aqueous extract of P. heyneanus was found to be an effective cytotoxic agent, inducing various clastogenic and non-clastogenic aberrations such as chromosome gaps, bridges, multipolar anaphase, fragments, nuclear budding and lesions, hyperchromasia, laggards and mitotic pairing."

"ABSTRAK
Natural fiber reinforced polymer composites are widely developed because of their relative low price and eco-friendly. One of natural fiber sourches is pandanus tectorius leaf. This study aimed to determine the effect of variations in fiber volume fraction on tensile strength, impact strength, bending strength and morphological on sea pandanus fibers- polypropylene composites.Tensile test spesimen refer to ASTMD 638, impact test spesimen refes to ASTMD 5942-96, bending test spesimen refer to ASTMD 790 -02. The increasing of the volume fraction increased the tensile strength and impact strength. The tensile test results showed the highest tensile strength results for composites with a volume fraction of 35% was 25.82 MPa. The impact test results showed that the highest impact strength was obtained in the 35 % volume fraction of 0.0062 Joule/mm2. The bending test results showed that the highest bending strength was obtained in the 20% volume fraction of 24.96 MPa. Based on SEM test results, there were voids, cracks, fibers pull out on the composite."
