"Invasive electromyography is a well-established diagnostic tool that has been used for decades by neurologists. Recently, new and alternative devices have increasingly become available that permit diagnosis without the use of needles. This developing area of science and the new tools have not, however, been sufficiently investigated in academic training. Consequently a gap exists between what science is making possible and the competence acquired during graduate studies. This handy volume has the aim of filling this gap by providing the information required by medical practitioners in rehabilitation, sports, and occupational health as well as by rehabilitation therapists, ergonomists, and sport coaches. The techniques that are presented and explained will help in monitoring and recording changes, evaluating the effectiveness of treatments and training, evaluating work stations, and preventing and documenting the evolution of occupational disorders of the neuromuscular system."

Parkinson menyerang 1% dari populasi orang berusia di atas 65 tahun di dunia, dengan salah satu gejala utama kondisi resting tremor pada bagian tangan pasien. Akuisisi informasi mengenai status kesehatan dari pasien parkinson hingga saat ini masih hanya dapat dilakukan ketika pasien menemui dokter dengan menghampiri klinik atau rumah sakit, saat aspek-aspek dari penyakit dapat menunjukkan fluktuasi pada periode di antara kunjungan tersebut. Pada penelitian ini, dirancang sistem monitoring alat EMG nirkabel yang dapat digunakan sebagai alat home monitoring, sehingga pasien dapat diperiksa setiap saat dan dengan frekuensi lebih sering agar perkembangan terhadap kesehatan pasien dapat selalu diperbarui. Sistem monitoring berikut memanfaatkan web server dan NodeMCU yang dilengkapi dengan ESP8266. Data yang berhasil terakuisisi tersebut kemudian diproses dengan transformasi wavelet diskrit (DWT) dan ekstraksi fitur RMS, logRMS, MAV, dan RES Index pada enam jenis gerakan yang berbeda untuk dibandingkan satu dengan lainnya. Melalui analisa yang telah dilakukan, didapatkan bahwa fitur yang memiliki pola penyebaran terbaik adalah standar deviasi dengan nilai RES Index sebesar 2,4. Selain itu, didapatkan pula bahwa setiap gerakan baik normal maupun dalam kondisi bergetar memiliki pola gelombang serta nilai fitur ekstraksi yang berbeda-beda. Dengan demikian, pola gerakan pasien Parkinson dapat dibedakan satu dengan lainnya melalui pembacaan sinyal EMG.

 


Parkinson's disease attacking 1% of the elder population in this world, with one of the main symptoms of this disease being resting tremor. Until now, Parkinsons disease information acquisition can only be done through patients' visits to clinics or hospitals, whereas the aspects of the disease are also shown during in-between those visits.  Therefore, an EMG device that could be used as a remote-monitoring device is designed in this research. This is so that patients can be checked more frequently and hopefully results in an always-renewed information of the patients' developments. This monitoring system utilizes NodeMCU with ESP8266 and web server. The data acquired are then processed through discrete wavelet transform (DWT) method. To compare six kind of gestures, features like RMS, logRMS, MAV, standard deviation, and RES Index are extracted from the reconstructed EMG signal. The results show that standard deviations plot has the best pattern separation with an RES Index score of 2.4 and every movement or gesture, whether its in normal or vibrating condition, have its own pattern of signal and different values of extracted features. Conclusively, the movement pattern of Parkinsons disease patients can be interpreted from one another using EMG signal reading.

"Pengolahan sumber air menjadi air bersih, membutuhkan teknik fisikokimia sederhana yang disebut teknik koagulasi-flokulasi. Teknik ini membutuhkan senyawa kimia berupa koagulan. Pada penelitian ini, dilakukan pembuatan koagulan jenis baru yaitu polialuminium sulfat (PAS) yang merupakan koagulan aluminium sulfat termodifikasi dengan menggunakan metode Response Surface Methodology (RSM) untuk mengoptimasi respon dari berbagai variabel yang digunakan dalam eksperimen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan komposisi bahan baku yang optimal untuk pembuatan polialuminium sulfat dan mendapatkan kondisi operasi koagulasi-flokulasi yang paling baik pada pengolahan air baku menjadi air bersih dengan menggunakan koagulan polialuminium sulfat hasil eksperimen. Empat variabel yang digunakan dalam penelitian pembuatan PAS, yaitu sodium aluminat, aluminium hidroksida, asam sulfat, dan air. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa RSM memiliki kehandalan dalam memprediksi respon %Al2O3, yaitu dengan RMSE (Root Mean Squared Error) sebesar 0,84. RSM dapat memberikan nilai optimal yang spesifik dengan hasil validasi sebesar 17,35%. Dengan RSM, didapatkan kondisi optimal eksperimen pembuatan PAS dengan komposisi sodium aluminat 6,6253 gram, aluminium hidroksida 41,5487 gram, asam sulfat 60,4351 mL, dan air 83,6923 mL. Metode RSM juga memperlihatkan kehandalannya dalam eksperimen operasi koagulasi-flokulasi dalam memprediksi respon % penurunan kekeruhan (turbiditas) dengan nilai RMSE sebesar 4,31. Kondisi optimal operasi koagulasi-flokulasi air baku menjadi air bersih berada pada dosisi koagulan sebesar 69,4 ppm dengan lama waktu koagulasi-flokulasi 29,045 menit. Produk baru yang diusulkan berupa koagulan polialuminium sulfat (PAS) padat yang memiliki % zat aktif lebih tinggi (Al2O3) bila dibandingkan dengan koagulan konvensional, aluminium sulfat atau tawas. PAS juga memiliki kemampuan yang sangat baik dalam operasi koagulasi-flokulasi air baku menjadi air bersih dan dapat menjadi alternatif koagulan dalam mengolah air baku menjadi air bersih untuk memenuhi kebutuhan air bersih di Indonesia.

Processing water sources into clean water require a simple physicochemical technique so-called the coagulation-flocculation technique which requires chemical compounds in the form of coagulants. In this study, a new type of coagulant was prepared, namely polyaluminium sulfate (PAS), which is a modified aluminium sulfate coagulant, using the Response Surface Methodology (RSM) method to optimize the response of various variables. This study aims to determine the optimal composition of the initial materials for the fabrication of polyaluminium sulphate and to determine the optimal conditions of coagulation-flocculation operations in processing raw water into clean water using the polyaluminium sulfate coagulant experimental results. The four variables used in this study, i.e., sodium aluminate, aluminium hydroxide, sulfuric acid, and water. The results showed that RSM had reliability in predicting the %Al2O3 response, that is with RMSE (Root Mean Squared Error) of 0,84. RSM can provide the specific optimal values ​​with validation results of 17,35%. By using RSM, the optimal experimental conditions for making PAS were obtained with a composition of sodium aluminate 6,6253 g, aluminium hydroxide 41,5487 g, sulfuric acid 60,4351 mL, and water 83,6923 mL. The RSM method also shows its reliability in the experiment of coagulation-flocculation operations in predicting the response of the decrease in turbidity with the RMSE value of 4,31. The optimal condition of coagulation-flocculation operation of raw water into clean water was in coagulant doses of 69,4 ppm with a treatment time of 29,045 minutes. The product is a solid polyaluminium sulfate (PAS) coagulant which has a higher percentage of the active components, i.e. Al2O3, compared to those of conventional coagulants, such as aluminium sulfate or alum. PAS also has very good ability in coagulation-flocculation to process raw water into clean water. It is potential as an alternative coagulant for processing raw water into clean water to meet the needs of clean in Indonesia."
