"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan penilaian terhadap tingkat kompetensi unit audit internal di PT. X sesuai dengan kerangka kompetensi IIA saat melakukan penugasan audit jarak jauh kemudian memberikan rekomendasi terkait program pengembangan dan pelatihan unit audit internal untuk meningkatkan level kompetensi ke level terapan/pakar, khususnya untuk penugasan terkait audit jarak jauh. Sifat penelitian ini adalah kualitatif eksploratif dengan pengumpulan informasi melalui wawancara semi terstruktur yang didukung dengan dokumentasi terkait kompetensi unit audit internal sebagai bukti pendukung, dimana beberapa staf unit audit internal dan auditee di PT. X menjadi subjek penelitian ini. Metode analisis informasi yang digunakan adalah analisis isi, dengan desain studi kasus desain kasus tunggal dan analisis tertanam. Berdasarkan hasil analisis diketahui bahwa tingkat kompetensi yang perlu ditingkatkan terutama pada sampling, analitik data, pemetaan proses, dan tinjauan analitik. Hasil ini ditemukan dari penggunaan metode sampling yang tidak tepat untuk semua penugasan dan tidak sesuai dengan standar IPPF, hasil analisis juga menyatakan bahwa penilaian pribadi masih dominan dalam penugasan karena kurangnya kompetensi dalam penggunaan sumber daya yang tepat. Mengenai proses audit jarak jauh, diketahui bahwa kompetensi yang dibutuhkan terutama terkait dengan penggunaan keterampilan program dan komunikasi yang tepat. Rekomendasi yang dapat disarankan berdasarkan semua hasil ini terutama terkait dengan pelatihan penggunaan sumber daya agar lebih efektif.

This study aims to conduct an assessment of the level of competence of the internal audit unit at PT. X is in accordance with the IIA's competency framework while doing remote audit assignments then provide recommendations related to the internal audit unit development and training program to increase the level of competence to the applied / expert level, especially for remote auditing related assignments. The nature of this research is qualitative exploratory with collecting information through semi-structured interviews supported by documentation related to the competence of the internal audit unit as supporting evidence, where some staff of the internal audit units and auditee at PT. X is the subject for this research. The information analysis method used is content analysis, with case study designs of single-case designs and embedded analysis. Based on the results of the analysis, it is known that the level of competence that needs to be increased mainly in sampling, data analytics, process mapping, and analytical review. This result were found from using inappropriate sampling method for all assignments and doesn’t conform to IPPF standards, the analysis result also stated that personal assessment is still dominant in the assignment because lack of competence in usage of appropriate resources. Regarding remote audit process, it is known that the required competencies mainly related to usage of appropriate program and communication skills. Recommendations that can be suggested based on all of these results are mainly related to training in the use of resources to make them more effective."
