Manusia perlu memiliki kesadaran ekologis untuk mendukung kelestarian alam dan penghindaran pada aktivitas yang merusak alam.Deep ecology menawarkan identifikasi dan realisasi diri untuk dapat menghadirkan kesadaran ekologis pada manusia yaitu dengan menyadari bahwa manusia merupakan satu kesatuan yang bersimbiosis dengan hewan dan alam. Dengan melakukan identifikasi dan realisasi diri manusia akan lebih bijak dalam mengonsumsi suatu produk dengan mempertimbangkan dampak ekologis dari produk yang akan ia konsumsi seperti memilih mengonsumsi produk yang ramah lingkungan. Sehingga tercipta bentuk tindakan konsumsi yang lebih mapan dan mengedepankan keseimbangan antara kehidupan manusia dengan hewan dan alam. Peran aktif manusia serta kebijakan politik diperlukan untuk mengatasi kerusakan yang dihasilkan oleh industri peternakan.

This research discusses the problems of the industrial animal farming that produce adverse impacts on the environment and human health. The adverse impacts are produced because of the anthropocentric human perspective when looking at animals and nature. This research was conducted using a descriptive analysis method by describing and analyzing the impacts produced by the industrial animal farming and its relationship with humans. Problems in the industrial animal farming can only be corrected by changing the way humans view on nature. Humans need to have ecological awareness to support the preservation of nature and avoidance of activities that damage nature. Deep ecology offers identification and self- realization to be able to bring ecological awareness to humans, namely by realizing that humans are a unit that is symbiotic with animals and nature. By identifying and self- realization, humans will be wiser in consuming a product by considering the ecological impact of the product he will consume, such as choosing to consume environmentally friendly products. Thus creating a more established form of consumption action and prioritizing the balance between human life and animals and nature. The active role of human beings as well as political policies are needed to overcome the damage produced by the industrial animal farming.
