"Masa berkuliah merupakan masa di mana individu menghadapi banyak tantangan. Mahasiswa yang tidak mampu menghadapi tantangan akan merasakan dampak pada kesejahteraan dirinya.Individu yang optimis dapat menghadapi tantangan dengan baik. Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi optimisme adalah religiositas. Religiositas mencakup banyak konsep, termasuk orientasi religius. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan antara optimisme dan orientasi religius. Partisipan penelitian ini adalah 669 mahasiswa Universitas Indonesia. Peneliti menggunakan LOT-R dan adaptasi ROS untuk mengukur optimisme dan orientasi religius. Hasil perhitungan menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif signifikan antara optimisme dengan orientasi religius intrinsik serta hubungan negatif signifikan antara optimisme dengan orientasi religius ekstrinsik.

College life is a period in which students face many challenges. College students who are not be able to overcome those challenges will feel the impact on their well-being. Optimism plays an important role for individuals to overcome those challenges. Religiosity is one of the factor that might influence optimism. Religiosity is composed by many concepts, including religious orientation. The purpose of this research is to identify relationship between optimism and religious orientation. Participants were 669 college students from Universitas Indonesia. Optimism was measured by LOT-R and religious orientation was measured by adaptation form of ROS. There was significant positive correlation between optimism and intrinsic religious orientation, and significant negative correlation between optimism and extrinsic religious orientation

"Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mendapatkan gambaran mengenai hubungan antara berpikir kritis dan orientasi religius. Berpikir kritis adalah penilaian yang bertujuan dan bersifat meregulasi diri untuk menghasilkan interpretasi, analisis, evaluasi, dan kesimpulan beserta penjelasan dari pertimbangan yang jelas, konseptual, metodologis, kriteriologis, atau kontekstual berdasarkan penilaian tersebut (Facione, 1990).
Orientasi religius merupakan cara seseorang mempraktikkan atau hidup dengan keyakinan dan nilai agamanya (Allport & Ross, 1967). Pengukuran berpikir kritis menggunakan Tes Analog (Suleeman & Christia, 2016) dan pengukuran orientasi religius menggunakan alat ukur Religious Orientation Scale (ROS) versi revisi (Genia, 1993). Partisipan pada penelitian ini adalah 121 mahasiswa S1 Universitas Indonesia.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada hubungan yang signifikan antara berpikir kritis dan orientasi religius, baik pada dimensi orientasi religius intrinsik maupun orientasi religius ekstrinsik. Penelitian lebih lanjut diperlukan untuk menyelidiki gejala ini dengan memperluas penggunaan sampel penelitian, mengonstruksikan alat ukur orientasi religius dalam konteks Indonesia yang lebih baik, melakukan wawancara, dan memperhitungkan pengelompokkan agama pada partisipan penelitian.

This research was conducted to find the relationship between critical thinking and religious orientation. Critical thinking is purposeful, self-regulatory judgment which results in interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and inference, as well as explanation of the evidential, conceptual, methodological, criteriological, or contextual considerations upon which that judgment is based (Facione, 1990).
Religious orientation is the way in which a person practices or lives out his/her religious beliefs and values (Allport & Ross, 1967). Critical thinking was measured using Tes Analog (Suleeman & Christia, 2016) and religious orientation was measured using the revised version of Religious Orientation Scale (ROS) (Genia, 1993). The participants in this research were 121 undergraduate students of University of Indonesia.
The result shows that there is no significant correlation between critical thinking and religious orientation, whether it is intrinsic or extrinsic religious orientation. Further research is needed to investigate this phenomenon by expanding participants of the research, constructing religious orientation instrument in Indonesian's context, conducting interviews, and considering religious grouping on the participants.

" ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara distres psikologis dan optimisme pada mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif kepada 1024 mahasiswa aktif di seluruh Indonesia. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang dilakukan adalah convenience sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengukur distres psikologis adalah Hopkins Symptoms Checklist-25 HSCL-25 . Sementara itu, instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengukur optimisme adalah Life Orientation Test-Revised LOT-R . Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan negatif yang signifikan antara distres psikologis dan optimisme r = 0,303, N = 1024, p < 0,01, two-tails . Hasil analisis data demografis menunjukkan bahwa jenis kelamin memengaruhi optimisme dan status pernikahan dapat memengaruhi distres psikologis.
ABSTRACT This research was conducted in order to seek the relationship between psychological distress and optimism among college students. "Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan alat ukur Life Orientation Test-Revised (LOTR) dari Scheier, Carver, dan Bridges (1994) untuk mengukur optimisme dan menggunakan alat ukur Pattern of Adaptive Learning Scales (PALS) dari Midgley (2000) untuk mengukur perilaku menyontek. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat gambaran optimisme dan menyontek, serta hubungan kedua variabel tersebut pada mahasiswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian korelasional dengan pendekatan kuantitatif.
Hasil penelitian pada 150 mahasiswa menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan signifikan antara optimisme dan menyontek, dengan kekuatan korelasi yang tergolong lemah. Hasil penelitian ini dapat dijadikan bahan pertimbangan oleh pihak perguruan tinggi untuk merancang program intervensi untuk meminimalisir menyontek pada mahasiswa.
This research is using Life Orientation Test-Revised (LOT-R) from Scheier, Carver, and Bridges (1994) for measuring optimism, and using PALS from Midgley (2000) for measuring cheating behavior. This research is conducted to describe a level of optimism, level of cheating, and correlation between both of variable in college students. This study is a correlational study with quantitative approach. A sample of 150 college students was used to investigate the relationship between optimism and cheating behavior.
The result indicates that there is a relationship between optimism and cheating, with a weak correlation. Implication of this study is, the result can be considered in designing an intervention program, in order to decrease student's cheating.

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara optimisme dan motivasi berprestasi pada mahasiswa penerima beasiswa Bidikmisi di Universitas Indonesia. Menurut Scheier dan Carver (1985) optimisme adalah keyakinan secara umum bahwa akan terjadi sesuatu yang baik. Menurut Atkinson (dalam Passer, 2007) motivasi berprestasi adalah keinginan yang positif untuk menyelesaikan tugas-tugas dalam suasana persaingan untuk memperoleh sukses dengan standar yang tinggi. Secara keseluruhan, 247 mahasiswa penerima beasiswa Bidikmisi berpartisipasi dengan cara mengisi kuesioner optimisme dan motivasi berprestasi. Pengukuran optimisme menggunakan alat ukur Life Orientation Test-Revised (LOT-R) yang dikembangkan oleh Scheier, Carver dan Bridges (1994), sedangkan motivasi berprestasi diukur menggunakan alat ukur Achievement Motives Scale-Revised (AMS-R) oleh Lang dan Fries (2006). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa optimisme dan motivasi berprestasi memiliki korelasi positif yang signifikan (r=0,15, p=0,018) Hasil korelasi antara optimisme dan dimensi-dimensi motivasi berprestasi menunjukkan korelasi positif yang signifikan antara optimisme dan motivasi berprestasi dimensi hope of success (r=0,216, p=0,001) dan tidak tidak terdapat korelasi antara optimisme dan motivasi berprestasi dimensi fear of failure (r=0,025, p=0,701).;This research was conducted to investigate the correlation between optimism and achievement motivation among college student with Bidikmisi scholarship at Universitas Indonesia. "[Perilaku menyontek merupakan salah satu bentuk pelanggaran moral yang
memiliki berbagai dampak negatif. Salah satu cara yang dapat dilakukan untuk
menanggulangi perilaku menyontek adalah menanamkan nilai-nilai religius pada
siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara orientasi
religius (intrinsik dan ekstrinsik) dan perilaku menyontek pada siswa SMA,
dengan mengontrol jenis sekolah (sekolah agama dan sekolah umum) serta jenis
kelamin (laki-laki dan perempuan). Responden dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari
134 siswa SMA yang menempuh pendidikan di sekolah agama dan sekolah
umum. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada hubungan yang
signifikan antara orientasi religius (intrinsik dan ekstrinsik) dan perilaku
menyontek pada siswa SMA, dengan mengontrol jenis sekolah (sekolah agama
dan sekolah umum) serta jenis kelamin (laki-laki dan perempuan). Di lain pihak,
model dalam penelitian ini secara signifikan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan
untuk menjelaskan variasi dalam perilaku menyontek karena adanya interaksi
jenis sekolah dan jenis kelamin., Cheating behavior is one of moral infraction that has negative impacts. This
unethical behavior may be reduced by instilling religious values among students.
The research aims at examining the relationship between religious orientation
(intrinsic and extrinsic) and cheating behavior among high school students, after
controlled for school types (religious school and public school) and gender (man
and woman). A total of 134 high school students from religious school and public
school setting have been involved in this study. The result shows that there is no
significant relationship between religious orientation (intrinsic and extrinsic) and
cheating behavior among high school students, even after the school types
(religious school and public school) and gender (man and woman) were controlled
for. Furthermore, the model in this research can significantly increase the ability
to explain the variation in cheating behavior due to interaction between school
types and gender.]"

"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat apakah terdapat hubungan antara optimisme dan resiliensi pada mahasiswa program Diploma III Kebidanan. Alat ukur yang digunakan untuk mengukur optimisme adalah Life Orientation Test-Revised (Carver & Scheier, 1988) dan alat ukur yang digunakan untuk mengukur resiliensi adalah Connor Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) 10 item yang telah diadaptasi oleh Campbell-Sills dan Stein (2007). Penelitian ini dilakukan pada 571 mahasiswa program Diploma III Kebidanan semester empat dan enam dengan menggunakan sampel mahasiswa yang berada di Provinsi DKI Jakarta, Banten, Sumatera Barat, dan Jawa Barat. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan dan positif antara optimisme dan resiliensi pada mahasiswa program Diploma III Kebidanan.

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between optimism and resilience among midwifery students in the area of Jakarta, Banten, West Sumatera and West Java. "Banyak penelitian yang telah menemukan hasil bahwa orientasi religius intrinsik berhubungan positif dengan perilaku prososial dan orientasi religius ekstrinsik berhubungan negatif dengan perilaku prososial. Penelitian ini bertujuan melakukan analisis lanjutan dengan populasi yang berbeda, yaitu dengan melihat hubungan orientasi religius mahasiswa muslim dan perilaku prososial terhadap kelompok agama minoritas pada dewasa awal. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode korelasi untuk melihat hubungan antara dua variabel tersebut. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Allport Ross Religious Orientation Scale dan Prosocialnees Scale for Adults yang telah diadaptasi dalam Bahasa Indonesia. Partisipan yang terlibat dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 106 mahasiswa yang beragama Islam di Universitas Indonesia dengan rentang usia 18-26 tahun (M = 20,7, SD = 1,38). Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kedua hipotesis penelitian diterima. Pertama, orientasi religius intrinsik berhubungan secara positif dan signifikan terhadap perilaku prososial. Kedua, orientasi religius ekstrinsik berhubungan secara negatif dan signifikan terhadap perilaku prososial.

Many studies have found results that intrinsic religious orientation is positively related to prosocial behavior and extrinsic religious orientation is negatively related to prosocial behavior. This study aims to conduct further analysis with a different population, which is to see the relationship between religious orientation of Muslim students and prosocial behavior toward religious minority groups in emerging adult. This study uses the correlation method to see the relationship between the two variables. The instruments used in this study are the Allport Ross Religious Orientation Scale and the Prosocialnees Scale for Adults which have been adapted in Indonesian language. The participants involved in this study amounted to 106 Muslim undergraduate students at the University of Indonesia with an age range of 18-26 years (M = 20.7, SD = 1.38). The results of this study showed that both research hypotheses are accepted. First, intrinsic religious orientation is positively and significantly related to prosocial behavior. Second, extrinsic religious orientation is negatively and significantly related to prosocial behavior."

"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat apakah terdapat hubungan antara optimisme dan efikasi diri pengambilan keputusan karir pada mahasiswa program Diploma III Kebidanan di Indonesia. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini merupakan mahasiswa program Diploma III Kebidanan tingkat 2 dan 3 yang berjumlah 571 orang dari akademi kebidanan yang terakreditasi A dan B di Provinsi DKI Jakarta, Banten, Jawa Barat, dan Sumatera Barat. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah convenience sampling. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara optimisme dan efikasi diri pengambilan keputusan karir (r=+.203, n=571, p<.01, two tails). Terdapat temuan lain yaitu kepuasan hidup, aspek kontekstual berupa dukungan sosial, dan self-efficacy merupakan prediktor tinggi atau rendahnya skor efikasi diri pengambilan keputusan karir.

This study examined the correlation between optimism and career decision self-efficacy on midwifery college student in Indonesia. 571 Senior year midwifery college student (grade 2 & 3) was participated from midwifery academy which have A and B acreditation in DKI Jakarta, Banten, Jawa Barat, and Sumatera Barat Province was taken by convenience sampling technique. The result indicated significant correlation between optimism and career decision self-efficacy (r=+.203, n=571, p<.01, two tails). Furthermore, another result also revealed that life satisfaction, contextual factor such social support, and self-efficacy as predictor of high or low career decision self-efficacy score.

Pada umumnya mahasiswa menunjukkan optimisme yang tinggi, dimana
mereka meyakini bahwa hasil yang baik akan diperoleh setelah menjalani
kehidupan perkuliahan yang penuh dinamika. Namun, tak jarang ditemukan
mahasiswa yang bermasalah atau bahkan gagal selama masa studi mereka. Dan
uniknya, setiap mahasiswa memiliki cara tersendiri dalam menilai penyebab-penyebab
dari setiap kejadian yang dialami (explanatory style) yang nantinya dapat mengarahkan usaha terhadap kejadian-kejadian di masa mendatang.
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat hubungan antara
explanatory style dan optimisme pada mahasiswa Indonesia. Partisipan
penelitian ini merupakan 669 mahasiswa Universitas Indonesia yang tersebar
dari 13 fakultas. Explanatory style diukur dengan menggunakan Attributional
Style Questionnaire yang dikembangkan Peterson, Semmel, von Baeyer,
Abramson, Metalsky & Seligman pada tahun 1982. Sedangkan optimisme
diukur menggunakan Life Orientation Test-Revised (LOT-R) yang
dikembangkan Scheier, Carver, & Bridge pada tahun 1994. Hasil penelitian ini
menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara explanatory
style dan optimisme. Hubungan yang signifikan juga ditemukan antara tiga
dimensi explanatory style dan optimisme, terkecuali dimensi externality vs
internality situasi hipotetikal negatif dan optimisme. Terdapat perbedaan total
optimisme antara mahasiswa dari Jabodetabek dan non-Jabodetabek.
Sedangkan perbedaan jenis kelamin hanya terlihat pada total skor optimisme.
Agama menjadi faktor yang membedakan explanatory style dan optimisme
yang dimiliki individu, dimana pemeluk agama Hindu cenderung memiliki
optimistic explanatory style dan pemeluk agama Katholik lebih optimis
dibandingkan yang lainnya.;Generally, students showed high optimism, which they believe that good results
will be obtained after a life full of dynamic lectures. However, it is not rare to
find students who are troubled or even fail during their studies. Uniquely, each
student has its own way of assessing the causes of any events experienced
(explanatory style) that can later be directing efforts towards events in the
future. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a
relationship between explanatory style and optimism on Indonesian students.
