"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kesulitan siswa dalam menguasai bentuk-bentuk derivasi. Berdasarkan hasil tes, dari keempat jenis pembentukan derivasi yaitu, verb (kata kerja), adjective (kata sifat), dan noun (kata benda), kesalahan yang paling banyak dilakukan siswa adalah kesalahan membentuk derivasi pada verb (kata kerja). Hasil tes menunjukkan 28.05% siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam membentuk derivasi pada verb (kata kerja), 21% siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam membentuk derivasi pada adverb (keterangan), 18.8% siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam membentuk derivasi pada adjective (kata sifat), dan 11.6% siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam membentuk derivasi pada noun (kata benda)."

"Interest in word-formation is probably as old as interest in language itself. As Dr Bauer points out in his Introduction, many of the questions that scholars are asking now were also being asked in the seventeenth, eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. However, there is still little agreement on methodology in the study of word-formation or theoretical approaches to it; even the kind of data relevant to its study is open to debate. "ABSTRAKTulisan ini membahas tentang penggunaan kata Choi ?? ?yang dipakai dalam percakapan bahasa Jepang. Tujuan dari penulisan ini adalah untuk mengungkapkan apa saja fungsi-fungsi ungkapan Choi ?? ?. Data yang digunakan untuk penelitian ini diambil dari drama televisi Jepang Umi no Ue no Shinryojo ? ?? ??. Agar dapat terlihat secara jelas setiap data yang diperoleh, data dianalisis dengan cara mendeskripsikan fungsi bahasa sesuai ijaran, penutur, petutur dan situasi dimana kata Choi ?? ? digunakan. Analisis yang dilakukan pertama untuk penelitian ini menggunakan teori tindak tutur dari Searle dan konsep hierarki sosial Jouge Kankei ? ? ? ? . Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan kata Choi ?? ?dalam ujaran, tidak hanya memiliki makna kamus ldquo;sebentar rdquo; atau ldquo;sedikit rdquo;, namun kata ini juga mengemban fungsi kata ldquo;tunggu rdquo;, ldquo;dengar rdquo;, atau ldquo;lihat rdquo; yang dilesapkan dari ujaran. ABSTRACTThis paper discusses the word choi ?? ?which is used in Japanese daily conversation. The objectives of this paper is to describe the function of this word in various usage. Data was collected from a Japanese television drama Umi no Ue no Shinryojo ? ?? ??. In order to attain the objectives of this research data was analyzed by describing the language function according to the utterance, speaker, receiver and situation in which the word Choi ?? ? was used. Speech Act Theory from Searle and Japanese social hierarchy concept joge kankei ? ? ? ? was implemented as tools to analyze data collected. As a result it shows that beside the explicit meaning it bears, which is lsquo;a moment rsquo; or lsquo;a bit rsquo;, the word choi ?? ?, also functions as a substitute towards the word lsquo;wait rsquo;, lsquo;listen rsquo;, and lsquo;see rsquo;, which may be omitted in utterence. Other findings was that choi ?? ? may be used by peer, subordinate as well as superior. around students may be an introduction to condut a research, and the outcomes may be used in immediately by them. "ABSTRAKSkripsi ini terdiri dari empat bab. Bab I Pendahuluan berisi latar belakang, permasalahan, tujuan penelitian, metode penelitian, ruang lingkup, sumber data, prosedur kerja, dan sistematika penyajian. Dalam bab II dijabarkan teori-teori yang digunakan dalam skripsi ini. Sebagai landasan teori, digunakan teori-teori dari Einar Haugen, Charles F Hockett, Wolfgang Fleischer, dan Broder Carstensen. Konsep tentang kata pinjaman didasarkan pada teori dari Einar Haugen dan Charles F Hockett. Sedangkan teori Wolfgang Fleischer dan Broder Carstensen digunakan sebagai landasan untuk teori pembentukan kata pinjaman. Bab III berisi analisis data secara keseluruhan terdapat 130 kata pinjaman bahasa Inggris yang dianalisis. 130 kata tersebut terdiri dari 97 kata yang terrnasuk ke dalam bentuk kata pinjaman loanword, 8 kata loan blend, 2 kata loanshift, 17 kata creation, dan 6 kata bentuk setengah terjemahan. Bab IV berisi kesimpulan dari penelitian ini. Komposita merupakan proses pembentukan kata yang paling banyak muncul. Selain itu, terdapat juga proses pembentukan kata yang lain, seperti derivasi, prefiksasi, Abkurzung, dan Kurzwort.
