"This study investigates the challenges that six pre-service EFL teachers of a Bachelor of Education (Sarjana Pendidikan) program experienced in conducting field practicum. This study employs a qualitative research design, with a phenomenological approach. Data was gathered through in-depth interviews. The interview data was then scrutinized and codified, respective to emergent themes through thematic analysis procedures (Merriam, 1988 in Emilia, 2007, p. 84). The findings showed that the pre-service teachers experienced challenges related to lesson preparation, classroom management, and communication breakdown within their field practicum. The study concludes with a recommendation and justification for teacher preparation programs to provide pre-service teachers with: robust theoretical frameworks in order to design instruction; practical experience in classroom management; profound knowledge of English language; and activities that develope strong confidence in teaching. In addition, teacher preparation programs are endorsed to formally inform mentor teachers regarding their roles and responsibility in the practicum."

"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur efektivitas pelatihan mengenal siswa berkebutuhan khusus dalam menumbuhkan sikap positif calon guru PAUD dalam konteks
pendidikan inklusif. Penelitian ini menggunakan within-subject one group pretest posttest design. Partisipan penelitian adalah mahasiswa PG-PAUD semester 7 di salah satu universitas di Jakarta (n=19). Pelatihan berlangsung selama 675 menit dengan topik anak berkebutuhan khusus dan pendidikan inklusif. Modul pelatihan dirancang berdasarkan hasil studi literatur, landasan teori, dan analisis kebutuhan. Sebagai langkah untuk mengetahui efektivitas program pelatihan, sikap calon guru diukur menggunakan Multidimentional Attitudes Toward Inclusive Education Scale (MATIES). Hasil uji signifikasi Wilcoxon Signed Rank menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang
signifikan pada sikap calon guru setelah pelaksanaan pelatihan (p=0,004). Terdapat beberapa faktor yang dapat menjelaskan efektivitas pelatihan dalam menumbuhkan sikap
positif, diantaranya dilihat dari sudut pandang pembentukan sikap, strategi mengubah sikap, dan penggunaan experiential learning Kolb. Berdasarkan hasil uji statistik juga diketahui bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan skor sikap yang signifikan setelah tiga minggu
pelaksanaan pelatihan (p=0,219). Faktor yang diduga menyebabkan belum efektifnya pelatihan dalam mempertahankan sikap positif calon guru diantaranya berkurangnya paparan terhadap anak berkebutuhan khusus setelah pelatihan, tidak diterapkannya strategi partisipasi aktif secara penuh selama pelatihan, dan proses penerapan daur belajar Kolb yang kurang ajeg. Temuan pada penelitian ini memberikan saran kepada peneliti selanjutnya untuk memberikan penguatan setelah pelaksanaan pelatihan.

This study aimed to examine the effectiveness training of recognizing student with special needs in fostering positive attitudes pre-service teachers of early childhood education in inclusive education context. A within-subject one group pretest posttest was designed in
this study. Training was developed for the semester 7 pre-service teachers of early childhood education program at one of the universities in Jakarta (n=19). Training
consisted of a 675 minutes face to face training session comprising topics such as children with special needs and inclusive education. Training module was designed based on literature studies, the theoretical foundation, and need analysis. In order to know the effects of the training program, the pre-service teachers attitude was measured using the Multidimentional Attitudes Toward Inclusive Education Scale (MATIES). Wilcoxon Signed Rank significance test revealed that there are significant differences in the preservice teachers attitude after training (p=0,004). There are several factors that can
explain the effectiveness of training in fostering positive attitude, such as aspects of attitude formation, strategies to change attitudes, and the Kolbs experiential learning approach. The results of statistical tests also revealed that there are no significant differences in the pre-service teacherss attitude after three weeks of training (p = 0.219).
Factors that might have caused the ineffectiveness of training in maintaining positive attitude, such as reduced exposure to children with special needs after the training, not implementing a full active participation strategy during training, and the lack of steady
implementation of the Kolb learning cycle. These findings suggest that the future researcher also can consider to conduct strengthening after training program was
performed.

"ABSTRACT
Undang-Undang Nomor 23 Tahun 2014 tentang Pemerintahan Daerah mengamanatkan pemerintah provinsi untuk mengelola bidang pendidikan menengah atas/kejuruan, khususnya dalam melakukan pemindahan guru SMA/SMK antar kabupaten/kota dengan tujuan pemerataan kebutuhan guru. Pemerataan kebutuhan guru sulit untuk diterapkan sejak otonomi daerah sehingga pemerintah provinsi harus melakukan peramalan kebutuhan guru agar pemerintah provinsi memiliki ketersediaan guru di masa depan dalam rangka mencapai pemerataan guru, baik secara kuantitas maupun kualitas. Pemerintah Provinsi Banten merupakan salah satu provinsi yang sedang melaksanakan proses peramalan kebutuhan guru karena kondisi saat ini kabupaten/kota di Provinsi Banten untuk jenjang SMA/SMK mengalami kekurangan guru. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peramalan kebutuhan guru pasca pengalihan kewenangan bidang pendidikan menengah atas/kejuruan oleh Pemerintah Provinsi Banten. Pendekatan dalam penelitian ini adalah post positivisme dan teknik pengambilan data melalui wawancara mendalam dan studi literatur. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah peramalan kebutuhan guru SMA/SMK di Provinsi Banten belum sepenuhnya dilaksanakan. Faktor yang menghambat peramalan kebutuhan guru belum sepenuhnya dilaksanakan adalah data guru SMA/SMK yang belum diverifikasi dan dinamis, kesiapan Pemerintah Provinsi Banten dalam hal sumber daya manusia, keterbatasan APBD Provinsi Banten, keterbatasan kewenangan pemerintah provinsi dalam hal merekrut dan belum adanya regulasi pemerintah daerah terkait dengan pemerataan kebutuhan guru.

ABSTRACT
Law Number 23 of 2011 on Regional Government mandates the regional government to manage education in high school and vocational high school, especially the transfer of authority of senior secondary/vocational education between districts/cities with the aim of equitable distribution of teacher needs. Equitable teacher needs are difficult to implement since regional autonomy so that the provincial government must forecast teacher needs so that the provincial government has the availability of teachers in the future in order to achieve equal distribution of teachers, both in quantity and quality. The Banten Provincial Government is carrying out the forecasting process of teacher needs because the current conditions of districts/cities in Banten Province for high school/vocational levels experience a shortage of teachers. Based on the issues having been described, this study aims to analyze the forecasting of teacher needs post transfer of authority in the field of senior secondary/vocational education by Banten Provincial Government. The approach used in this study is post-positivism and data collection technique through in-depth interviews and literature studies. The result of this study is forecasting the needs of senior secondary/vocational school teachers in Banten Province have not been fully implemented."

"Pendahuluan : Pembelajaran tahap klinis merupakkan pembelajaran berbasis work-placed based. Pada tahap ini peserta didik belajar secara langsung mempraktikan keilmuan yang dimiliki dan mengembangkan karakter seorang dokter melalui panduan pengajar klinis. Peserta didik memiliki kemampuan untuk menilai dan meniru karakter yang dimiliki oleh pengajar klinis. Peserta didik memiliki kecenderungan untuk mudah mencerna perilaku negatif dibandingkan perilaku positif. Karakter pengajar klinis menjadi penting dalam pembelajaran berbasis role model. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi karakteristik pengajar klinis pada pendidikan dokter di Indonesia. Metode : Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Pemilihan responden penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan maximum variation sampling pada kelompok pengelola prodi, peserta didik dan pengajar di tahap pembelajaran klinis. Penelitian dilakukan di empat institusi fakultas kedokteran di Indonesia (UNIBA, UKI, UNPATTI dan UI). Analisis konten dilakukan pada Focus Group Discussions (FGD) dan In Depth Interviews (IDI). Hasil : Sebanyak 32 peserta didik yang berpartisipasi dalam empat FGD dan delapan pengajar klinis dan pengelola prodi yang berpartisipasi dalam IDI untuk menjabarkan karakter ideal pengajar klinis di Indonesia. Terdapat 504 pendapat yang teridentifikasi dan dikelompokan kedalam 38 tema karakteristik. Sikap menghargai menjadi karakter yang sangat diharapkan dimiliki pengajar klinis diikuti sifat terbuka dan mampu memberikan umpan balik konstruktif. Terdapat empat buah karakter khusus yang hanya dimiliki pengajar klinis di Indonesia yakni kemampuan berbagi pengalaman, mengajarkan prinsip dasar kedokteran, pribadi religius dan disiplin. Sebagian contoh yang diberikan peserta didik berupa aspek negatif dari pengajar klinis. Simpulan : Terdapat tujuh belas karakter dari 38 karakter ideal bagi pengajar klinis pendidikan dokter di Indonesia yang memiliki kesamaan dengan karakter negara barat dan negara timur. Karakter baru pada Indonesia menunjukkan adanya perbedaan kebutuhan karakter pengajar pada setiap tempat yang memiliki latar belakang yang berbeda. Sebagai tambahan, terdapat proses pembelajaran negative role model yang diobservasi oleh peserta didik.

Introduction: At the clinical learning stage, students learn to practice their knowledge and develop their character through a clinical teacher's guide. Students can assess and imitate the character possessed by clinical teachers. The character of clinical teachers becomes important in role models. This study aims to explore the characteristics of clinical teachers in medical education in Indonesia. Methods: This is a qualitative study using the phenomenological approach. Respondents were recruited using maximum variation sampling in groups of program managers, students, and lecturers at the clinical stage at four medical faculties in Indonesia (UNIBA, UKI, UNPATTI, and UI). We used content analysis on Focus Group Discussions (FGD) and In Depth Interviews (IDI). Results: A total of 32 (students) and eight (teachers and program managers) participated in four FGDs and eight IDIs. There are 504 opinions identified and grouped into 38 characteristic themes. "Respect for others" is a highly expected character, followed by being "openness" and "able to provide constructive feedback". There are four new characteristics: "ability to share experiences", "teach basic principles of medicine", "religious personality", and "discipline". Some of the examples given by students are negative aspects of clinical teachers. Conclusion: There are seventeen characteristics of clinical teachers in Indonesia similar to characters in western and eastern countries. The new character of Indonesia shows that there are differences in teachers' character needs in each place with a different background. Learning by negative role models was carried out by students in this study."

"Tesis ini membahas bagaimana peranan Aisyiyah dalam bidang pendidikan Indonesia pada tahun 1952-1959. Pendidikan merupakan salah satu bidang yang menjadi bagian dari amal dan usaha Aisyiyah sejak awal berdirinya. Amal dan usaha Aisyiyah dalam bidang pendidikan tidak hanya sebatas pendidikan formal tetapi juga pendidikan non-formal. Tersebarnya cabang-cabang Aisyiyah di berbagai daerah mempermudah Aisyiyah untuk turut berperan dalam bidang pendidikan. Aisyiyah merupakan salah satu organisasi yang anggotanya turut terlibat menjadi pengajar pelajaran agama Islam di sekolah-sekolah. Metode yang digunakan dalam penulisan adalah metode sejarah yang terdiri atas heuristic, verifikasi, interpretasi dan historiografi. Dalam tesis ini, penulis menggunakan majalah sejaman yang diterbitkan oleh organisasi Aisyiyah dilengkapi dengan berbagai sumber pendukung lainnya. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat diketahui bahwa Aisyiyah memiliki peranan dalam bidang pendidikan pada periode 1952-1959. Tidak hanya dalam pendidikan formal melalui taman kanak-kanak dan jenjang pendidikan lainnya, Aisyiyah juga turut berpartisipasi dalam pemberantasan buta huruf serta pengajaran lainnya melalui muballighatnya.

This thesis discusses the role of Aisyiyah in Indonesian education from 1952 to 1959. Education is one area that has been part of Aisyiyah's activities since its birth. Aisyiyah's activities in education are not only limited to formal education but also non-formal education. The branches of Aisyiyah are spreading in various areas, which makes it easier for Aisyiyah to take part in the field of education. This thesis is being written using historical methods which consist heuristic, verification, interpretation and historiography. In this thesis, the author uses contemporary magazines published by the Aisyiyah organization, complemented by various other supporting sources. Based on the research results, it is perceptible that Aisyiyah had a role in the field of education from the period 1952-1959. In formal education through kindergarten and other levels of education, Aisyiyah also participates in eradicating illiteracy and teaching through her preacher. Aisyiyah is also one of the organizations whose members are involved in teaching Islamic religious lessons in schools."

"ABSTRACT
In economics, education is considered as one of the most important factors for a nation development. International test result, unfortunately, shows that Indonesian students are performing poorly compared to other countries even with enormous portion of state budget spent for education. Lack of infrastructure is often highlighted as the reason for this failure. However, several reports have shown that infrastructure may not be the sole determinant of education outcome, hence identifying another factor is needed to improve effectiveness of education policy. This research aims to study how human behavior could impact academic achievement through a field experiment. Using the concept of growth mindset and delayed gratification as the proxy of human behavior, we obtained mixed result on how human behavior affects education outcome. Higher degree of growth mindset is associated with better academic performance, showing that student rsquo s belief can affect their achievement academic wise. On the other hand, we did not find statistical evidence about the impact of delayed gratification on education outcome, which implies that the ability to resist temptation may not always lead to better academic achievement. These findings suggest that education policy making and evaluation in the future should consider and put more emphasis to the factor of human behavior.

ABSTRAK
Pendidikan merupakan salah satu faktor terpenting dalam membangun sebuah negara. Dengan segala sumber daya yang telah dialokasikan untuk pendidikan, khususnya besaran porsi anggaran, hasil tes internasional menunjukkan kemampuan siswa Indonesia masih tertinggal dari negara lain. Buruknya kualitas infrastruktur seringkali dianggap sebagai penyebab kegagalan sistem pendidikan di Indonesia. Nyatanya, beberapa penelitian menunjukkan infrastruktur bukan satu-satunya faktor penentu keberhasilan sistem pendidikan, sehingga analisis terkait faktor lain yang dapat memengaruhi efektivitas kebijakan pendidikan perlu dilakukan. Melalui eksperimen di lapangan, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari bagaimana perilaku manusia dapat memengaruhi keluaran dari pendidikan. Menggunakan konsep growth mindset dan delayed gratification sebagai proxy perilaku manusia, ditemukan hasil yang beragam tentang dampak perilaku terhadap keluaran pendidikan. Growth mindset memiliki asosiasi positif dengan keluaran akademis. Hal ini menunjukkan kepercayaan siswa dapat memengaruhi performa akademis. Sementara itu, secara statistik tidak ditemukan asosiasi antara delayed gratification dan keluaran pendidikan. Hal ini mengimplikasikan bahwa kemampuan menahan diri dari godaan tidak selalu berkorelasi dengan prestasi akademis yang lebih baik. Temuan-temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa kebijakan terkait pendidikan harus lebih mempertimbangkan perilaku manusia."
