"This paper criticises the selection of seven new towns as growth centre in Rivers State. However, based upon financial constraint and other variables, it suggested only two locations suitable for growth centres. These centres are integrated with rural development policies to function as alternative destinations for rural migrants to the state capital city and to strengthen the service hierarchies in the rural region. The general arguments are illustrated with a case study of Rivers State of Nigeria."

"Bertambahnya jumlah perusahaan start-up, khususnya financial technology (fintech), berdampak signifikan terhadap produk domestik bruto (PDB) nasional Indonesia sehingga berkontribusi terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi. Namun, perusahaan rintisan teknologi lebih banyak gagal daripada berhasil. Studi menunjukkan bahwa start-up yang menerapkan prinsip lean menghasilkan lebih sedikit kegagalan daripada start-up yang menggunakan metode tradisional. Studi ini berupaya untuk mengelaborasi penerapan praktik umum dan tantangan kerangka kerja lean dalam pengembangan produk baru dari start-up berdasarkan tahapan pendanaan mereka menggunakan tinjauan literatur sistematis dan analisis kualitatif. Penulis menganalisis dua puluh delapan publikasi berdasarkan peringkat dan relevansinya, kemudian melakukan wawancara mendalam dengan dua belas informan dari enam start-up. Analisis penelitian mengelaborasi tiga framework implementasi lean start-up mulai dari vision, steer, dan acceleration yang masing-masing memiliki empat variabel yang berbeda. Studi ini mengungkapkan perbedaan mendasar antara masing-masing perusahaan start-up dalam mengimplementasikan lean framework saat mengembangkan produk baru dan masalah yang mereka hadapi. Penelitian tentang start-up lean ini diharapkan dapat digunakan sebagai panduan untuk mengimplementasikan lean start-up dalam pengembangan produk baru dengan mempelajari informasi yang diperoleh dari berbagai start-up berdasarkan tahapannya.

The growing number of start-up companies, especially financial technology (fintech), has a significant impact on Indonesia’s national gross domestic product (GDP), contributing to economic growth. However, tech start-up companies fail more than succeed. Study shows that start-ups that apply lean principles result in fewer failures than start-ups that use traditional methods. This study endeavors to elaborate on implementing general practices and challenges of the lean framework in new product development from start-ups based on their funding stages using a systematic literature review and qualitative analysis. The author analyzed twenty-eight publications based on their ratings and relevance, then conducted in-depth interviews with twelve informants from six start-ups. The research analysis elaborates on three lean start-up implementation frameworks starting from vision, steer, and accelerate, each of which has four different variables. This study reveals fundamental differences between each start-up company in implementing the lean framework when developing new products and the problems they face. This research on lean start-ups is expected to be used as a guide for implementing lean start-ups in new product development by studying information obtained from various start-ups based on their stage."

"Kepekaan tempat di kota-kota baru (new towns) tidak bisa disamakan dengan kota-kota yang memiliki sejarah panjang seperti kota dalam pengertian wilayah administrasi atau tempat spesial seperti kawasan yang dihuni penduduk asli. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi kepekaan tempat di kota baru Bumi Serpong Damai (BSD) dan Jababeka. Dalam penelitian ini, kepekaan tempat dieksplorasi dari hubungan individu dengan tempat dan ikatannya dengan tempat. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi kepekaan tempat untuk menemukenali identitas kota baru berdasarkan apa yang dipahami penduduknya. Untuk itu, penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan yang mengkombinasikan pendekatan kualitatif dan kuatitatif (mix model). Pengolahan data dilakukan dengan teknik analisis isi kualitatif. Temuannya, kepekaan tempat BSD maupun Jababeka sama - sama bersifat kontinum, namun di BSD tendensinya lebih kuat. Eksplorasi kepekaan tempat di kedua tempat ini menunjukkan adanya kontestasi dalam mempengaruhi pemaknaan atas tempat dan adanya tendensi penerimaan identitas tempat yang spasial. Dalam konteks pengembangan brand kota, BSD dan Jababeka memiliki potensi untuk memanfaatkan identitas spasial dalam memperkuat identitas kompetitifnya masing-masing.

Sense of place for new towns cannot be equated with the sense of place for cities which has a long history and inhabited by the natives. This study aimed to explore the sense of place for Bumi Serpong Damai (BSD) and Jababeka in term of the individual place relationship and place bonding with the new towns. This study explored sense of place in order to identify the identity conceived by the residents. It used a mixed model that combined qualitative and quantitative approaches. Data was analyzed using qualitative content analysis. The findings of this study indicated that sense of place for BSD and Jababeka is a continuum though the tendency for BSD was stronger. Sense of place for both towns showed a competition in influencing the construction of meaning and a tendency to adopt spatial place identity. In the context of city branding development, BSD and Jababeka each has the potentials in taking advantage of spatial identity for strengthening their competitive advantages."

"Tesis ini bertujuan untuk memaparkan representasi kota New York yang terdapat pada film “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones'. Fokus analisis adalah menganalisis unsur naratif dan sinematografis film, serta memaknai simbol yang terdapat pada film “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones' untuk menggali bentuk representasi dalam film tersebut. Analisis ini menggunakan teori semiotik dan representasi dengan pendekatan objektif dan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil dari analisis ini adalah film The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones merepresentasikan kota New York sebagai kota yang modern namun tetap spiritual, kota yang sarat akan identitas dan kota yang rindu akan kehangatan.

This thesis aims to describe the city of New York representations contained in "The Mortal Instruments : City of Bones" movie. The focus of the analysis is to analyze the elements of narrative and cinematographic, as well as the meaning of the symbols contained in "The Mortal Instruments : City of Bones" movie to explore the forms of representation inside. This analysis uses semiotic and representation theory with the objective approach and qualitative descriptive method. The results of this analysis is 'The Mortal Instruments : City of Bones' movie represents the city of New York as a modern city but still spiritual, loaded by identity and miss the warmth."
