The perspectives that try to explain how environmental issues could be regarded as a security issues are divided into two grand categories. The first is the national security perspective with focus on the national security of the state. In this perspective, environmental security threats comes as a violent conflict due to the resource scarcity caused by environmental degradation. Military response often developed to gain access to the scarce resource. The second is the human security perspective, which focuses on the well-being of the individual and group of people. Environmental degradation could threaten human security in the form of health hazards, the disruption of agricultural production, population movement that could generate instability, etc."

"Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk memahami perkembangan pemikiran akademis mengenai pembahasan isu lingkungan dalam kajian keamanan. Pembahasan literatur-literatur dalam tulisan ini akan menggunakan pembabakan kronologis menjadi tiga periode, yakni 1970-2001, 2002-2011, dan 2012-2017. Problematika lingkungan dalam keamanan dibahas lewat wacana keamanan lingkungan. Sejak digunakan pada 1972 pada Konferensi Stockholm, frasa keamanan lingkungan digunakan untuk coba membahas isu lingkungan melalui perspektif keamanan. Gerakan ini bisa muncul karena ancaman yang nyata, luas, serta tak bisa terpungkiri lagi dari isu lingkungan. Tulisan ini akan menunjukkan perkembangan tema-tema yang dibahas dalam wacana keamanan lingkungan sejak 1970 hingga beberapa tahun belakang. Tema-tema tersebut antara lain kerusakan lingkungan, kajian keamanan, konflik dan perdamaian, pembangunan dan tata kelola, demografi, diplomasi, gender, dan bencana. Dengan memperlihatkan temuan-temuan tersebut tulisan ini dapat membantu pembahasan masalah lingkungan baik secara akademis maupun dari segi praktis.

This paper aims to understand the development of academic thinking about environmental security discourse in the security debate. All the literatures that discussed in this work will be analized chronologically into three groupings: 1970-2001, 2002-2011, and 2012-2017. Environmental problems which are discussed by security perspective has been using the phrase' environmental security' since the term coined in the Stockholm Conference in 1972. This debate gained momentum because of the imminent, extreme, and the huge coverage of threats produced by environmental problems. This paper will then shows the development of themes in the discourse of environmental security since 1970 until the recent year. Themes found and explored by this article includes environmental degradation, security studies, peace and conflict, demography, gender, diplomacy, and catasthrophy. I hope that this paper could give contribution academically and practically to the discourse as a whole."

"The seventh edition is the most radical revision of this textbook to date and now includes color figures, a visual transformation over the sixth edition. However, we were careful to retain the same format as the sixth edition, which divided the book into two parts. Part I contains 17 chapters and represents both a general introduction to radiation biology and a complete self-contained course in the subject, suitable for residents in diagnostic radiology and nuclear medicine. It follows the format of the Syllabus in Radiation Biology prepared by the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), and its content reflects the questions appearing in recent years in the written examination for diagnostic radiology residents given by the American Board of Radiology. Part II consists of 11 chapters of more in-depth material designed primarily for residents in radiation oncology. We live in an exciting time, but yet a dangerous time as well. The threat of nuclear terror rears its head way too often. If such an event occurs, those trained in the radiation sciences will be called on to manage exposed individuals. For this reason, we have included a new chapter on Radiologic Terrorism (Chapter 14). The translation of molecular imaging into the clinic is moving at a rapid pace.
