"Hubungan yang terjalin antara lansia dan anaknya yang tinggal bersama akan lebih kuat dan terlihat interaksinya sehingga dapat berdampak pada psychological well-being-nya. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui korelasi kualitas hubungan lansia dan anaknya yang tinggal bersama dengan psychological well-being pwb lansia. Kualitas hubungan terdiri dari kualitas hubungan positif dan negatif. Teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah convenience sampling dengan sampel sebanyak 102 orang lansia. Alat ukur yang digunakan untuk mengukur kualitas hubungan lansia dan anaknya adalah Positive and Negative Social Exchanges PANSE dan Ryff's Scale of Psychological Well-Being RSPWB untuk mengukur pwb pada lansia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat korelasi yang positif dan signifikan antara kualitas hubungan positif dengan pwb lansia. Kemudian, terdapat korelasi yang negatif dan signifikan antara kualitas hubungan negatif dengan pwb lansia r = -0,335, N = 102, p < 0,01, one-tailed . Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa semakin besar perilaku tidak simpatik, sikap ikut campur, kegagalan untuk memberikan bantuan yang dibutuhkan, serta pengabaian/penolakan yang diperoleh dari anak, maka semakin rendah psychological well-being lansia, dan begitu pula sebaliknya.

The relationship that exists between older parent and their child in co residence living will have a salient and stronger interaction so that it may affect their psychological well being. This research was conducted to find the correlation of older parent their child relationship quality in co residence living and their psychological well being pwb. Relationship quality consists of positive and negative quality. The sampling technique used in this research was convenience sampling and sample counted were 102 participants. Older parent their child relationship was measured by using Positive and Negative Social Exchanges PANSE Measurement and psychological well being was measured by using Ryff's Scale of Psychological Well Being RSPWB.

The main result indicated positive and not significant correlation between positive quality and pwb. Then, negative and significant correlation between negative quality and pwb r 0,335, N 102, p 0,01, one tailed . The result showed that the greater the unsympathetic behavior, intrusion, failure to provide needed help, and rejection reglect from the child, then the lower the psychological well being of older parent, and vice versa."
