"Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah membuat rancangan silabus BIPA untuk tujuan akademik umum berdasarkan analisis kebutuhan pemelajar. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan pengamatan, wawancara, pengisian kuesioner, dan penelaahan laporan pengajaran. Hasil analisis dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemelajar memerlukan silabus gabungan untuk dapat mengakomodasi kebutuhan berbahasa mereka. Silabus gabungan yang disusun berperan membekali pemelajar untuk mengikuti perkuliahan reguler di universitas.

The aim research is to make a BIPA syllabus for general academic purposes based on student?s needs analysis. This research use a qualitative method. Technique in collecting data with observation, interview, questionnaires, and analysis on teaching report. Analysis from the research showed that student needs a mixed syllabus to acomodate their language needs. The syllabus? role is to give tools for student to join a regular course at university."

"ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi silabus yang saat ini digunakan dan menghasilkan silabus baru untuk mata pelajaran bahasa Jepang pada Program Akomodasi Perhotelan di sebuah SMK Pariwisata di Jakarta. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan desain deskriptif. Saya mengevaluasi dokumen silabus yang digunakan saat ini, kemudian merancang silabus baru dengan langkah-langkah dari teori Yalden 1987 . Langkah penelitian diawali dengan survei kebutuhan melalui teknik wawancara, penyebaran kuesioner dan observasi kelas. Hasil survei menunjukkan bahwa siswa perlu silabus yang seimbang antara struktur dan fungsi bahasa. Silabus baru diharapkan dapat memberikan masukan kepada penyusun silabus di SMK ini.

ABSTRACT
This research was conducted to evaluate the syllabus currently used and to design a new syllabus for Japanese of the Hotelier Program in a Tourism Vocational School in Jakarta. It is a qualitative research with descriptive design. I evaluated the syllabus currently used and design a new syllabus using the stages proposed by Yalden 1987 . The stages start with a needs survey through interviews, questionnaires and classroom observation. The needs survey results suggest that students need a proportional syllabus focusing on both structure and function. It is hoped that the new syllabus can be useful for the syllabus designer in this school."

"ABSTRACT
This educational practice report outlines the rationale for creating an original English oral communication skills course that combines the study of literature with formal debate. It includes a detailed breakdown of the regular class procedures used to prepare students for a weekly practice debate and also an overview of the course structure, showing how students acquire the skills and confidence to debate persuasively in front of an audience of their peers by the end of the course. The paper concludes with an overview of the English language skills as well as other academic competencies such as critical thinking and argumentative skills that the course aims to develop in students."

"Article aimed to describe language learners' belief system and to investigate how significance the language learners' beliefs are between them in language learning. Using both qualitative and quantitative approaches, this research took 111 female- and 32 male-first semester college-students majoring in English Education as respondents. The instrument was 34 item BALLI questionnaire designed by Horwitz. The findings of the research showed that females and males language beliefs about language learning are mostly in similar fashion. The significant differences in responses were on the beliefs related to language and intelligence, enjoyment in practicing English, learning English-speaking cultures having English-speaking friends, and motivation in learning English.
