Jamu is Indonesian traditional medicine. Government’s rule states that this traditional medicine may not contain any synthetic chemical substance or drug functioned isolated compound. In reality there are still found some jamu that contain medicine compound. This research is aimed to analys Antalgin, Mefenamic acid, Phenyl butazon and Paracetamol in jamu pegal linu most used by society in Kecamatan Pasar Minggu. 25 sample was taken by purposive sampling method.
Methods to analys synthetic chemical were used the colour test with some reagents and thin layer chromatography with mobil phase methanol-ammonia (100:1,5) and toluene-ethanol (4:6) with short waved UV as detection method. From jamu samples analyzed, there are no samples contained Antalgin, Mefenamic acid, Phenyl butazon and Paracetamol.

"Background: Jamu has be en a long history as an ancient heritage and indigenous wisdom for maintaining and restoring health of Indonesian people. However, as traditional medicine, jamu stilllacks of scientific evidence in terms of efficacy and safety On the other hand, there is a great demand to use jamu in medical services, including the direction of Indonesian President to raise jamu as a therapeutic modality of health care. Methods: To solve this problem, the Indonesian Ministry of Health has established the Programme of Jamu Scientification, trying to provide scientific evidence through research and development, regarding the efficacy and safety of jamu. Jamu Scientification can be seen as a breakthrough effort to accelerate jamu research in down stream side. Jamu, as part of traditional medicine, use naturopathic approach, focusing on healing instead of removing disease, as contrasted to allopathic medicine. Coventional medicine uses alloptahic approach, implementing more radical treatment, i.e. modern drugs and surgeries. Results: Jamu Scientification is trying to synthesize naturopathic approach and allopathic approach to be integrative medicine. Consequently, the evaluation of clinical outome for Jamu Scientification is using holistic approach, as the phylosophy of integrative medicine. The clinical outcome is not only measured by objective parameters (laboratory results and measurement) but also by subjective parameters (selfresponded outcome, quality of life, and wellnes index). By doing Jamu Scientification for obtaining the scientific evidence of efficacy and safety, it is hoped that we can accelerate the integration of jamu into formal health services.

39 mengandung as am mefenamat dan indometasin.

Indonesian traditional medicine which is widely known as jamu has been used for along time in medicatioa According to the regulation of Minister Of Health No. 246 / Menkes / Per / V / 1990 on Industrial Permission and the Registrj' of Traditional Medicine stated that traditional medicine must not contain chemical substance or active drug isolation product One of possibly added drug in jamu is classified as Non Steroidal Anti Inflammatory Drugs (NSAID). This research was aimed to analyze NSAID added in jamu using thin layer chromatography. IT Method applied was jamu extraction with absolute ethanol for 40 seconds followed by TLC using mobile phase toluene : etiianol (7:3) and ethyl acetate: methanol: ammonia (85:10:5) with short waved UV as detection mediod. From samples analyzed, it was found that 9 samples contained NSAID drugs which were S4, S5, S6, S7, Sll, S13 containing antalgin and S9 containing raefenamic acid and indometacin while S5, S8, SIO, Sll contained paracetamol, and S6, SI2 contained phenylbutazoa"
