"Ruang pemakaman yang dimaknai sebagai ruang peristirahatan terakhir bagi manusia yang telah meninggal kini mengalami produksi pemaknaan lain akibat dari adanya fenomena kontestasi praktik spasial yang terjadi di dalamnya. Tempat pemakaman Umum Prumpung menjadi ruang pemakaman yang menyajikan kondisi pertarungan praktik spasial antara mereka yang telah “tiada” dengan praktik keseharian masyarakat kampung kota yang berada di sekitar TPU Prumpung sehingga menarik untuk dikaji dengan pendekatan produksi sosial ruang. Kontestasi praktik spasial pada TPU Prumpung memperlihatkan aktor kontestasi yang dipicu oleh “kehadiran orang lain” serta berbagai upaya pengalihan spasial properties sebagai taktik yang dilakukan dalam memproduksi ruang publik sehari-hari atau everyday public space milik mereka. Dengan “hidup” nya everyday public space di dalam ruang milik mereka yang telah “tiada” menjadi fenomena yang akan diamati melalui metode etnografi spasial serta pemetaan aktivitas, ruang dan waktu untuk menelusuri bentuk taktik kontestasi praktik spasial yang membawa narasi baru ke dalam TPU Prumpung.

The cemetery space, which is interpreted as the final resting space for deceased humans, is now experiencing the production of other meanings as a result of the phenomenon of contestation of spatial practices that occurs within it. The Prumpung Cemetery is a burial space that presents conditions of spatial practice contestation between those who have “passed away” and the everyday practice of Urban Kampung community around the Prumpung Cemetery, making it interesting to study using a social production of space approach. The contestation of spatial practices at TPU Prumpung shows contestation actors triggered by the "the presence of others " as well as various treatments of spatial properties as tactics carried out in producing their everyday public space. With the "life" of everyday public space in the space of those who "dead" becomes a phenomenon that will be observed through spatial ethnography methods and mapping of activity, space and time to trace the forms of contestation tactics for spatial practices that bring new narratives into Prumpung TPU."
