"Tesis ini bertujuan untuk memahami faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi Kubamelakukan deregulasi atas investasi asing di era kepemimpinan Raul Castro.Deregulasi meliputi revisi Undang-Undang perihal investasi asing, perombakansistem perpajakan serta memberikan jaminan hukum kepada para investor asing.Penelitian ini menggunakan penjelasan dari Margaret Hermann tentang pengaruhkarakteristik personal seorang pemimpin dalam menentukan preferensi kebijakan,serta penjelasan dari Glenn Biglaiser dan Karl DeRouen mengenai faktor-faktor yangmempengaruhi reformasi ekonomi di kawasan Amerika Latin. Penelitian inimenemukan bahwa besarnya kekuasaan yang dimiliki badan eksekutif, restrukturisasihutang luar negeri Kuba, pertumbuhan ekonomi Kuba yang mengalami perlambatan,serta perilaku kepemimpinan Raul Castro yang cenderung pragmatis, berpengaruhdalam deregulasi investasi asing di Kuba.

This thesis aimed to understand factors influencing the deregulation of foreign

investment in Cuba during Raul Castro’s administration. Deregulation includes

revision on foreign investment act, tax reforms and law protection for foreign

investors. This study used Margaret Hermann’s explanation about the impact of

personal characteristic leader in policy preferences, and explanation from Glen

Biglaiser and Karl DeRouen about factors which affect the economic reform in Latin

America. This study found that the large power of Cuba’s executive body, the Cuba’s

foreign debt restructure, the deceleration of Cuba’s economic growth and the

tendency on Raul Castro’s pragmatic behavior, are influencing on deregulation of

foreign investment in Cuba."

"ABSTRACTThis paper focused on the development of the AK Party (Adelet ve Kalkinma Partisi) in Turkey. The AK Party is a long established Islamic political party in Turkey which had won the 2002, 2007, 2011, and 2015 elections. Turkey is a country that adopting the secular system, a system that had been guarded by the military. This situation made Islamic parties, such as the AK Party, had to rethink their strategy, in order to survive Turkey's political system.This research is a qualitative research with case study method. The theory that used in this research is social movement theory which based on; political participation structure, resources mobilization, and framing process. This research showed that the development of the AK Party political movement is depend on the transformation of the Islamic political movement in Turkey. This transformation reflected on the perception that AK Party is a Liberal Democracy Party which accepting free market, universal human rights, and pluralism."
