Aggregate imports, exports and FDI are often used to inform policymakers of the level of firm's level internationalization. These measures, however, does not reveal firms characteristics in detail. This study uses firm level data from Indonesia's 2006 economic census to reveal four different characteristics of Indonesian manufacturing firms. First, the distribution of exports made by manufacturing firms; second, the intensity of exports; third, the ownership structures of manufacturing firms; and fourth, the export shares among industries and destinations."

"Salah satu strategi investasi yang dapat diimplementasikan oleh investor adalah strategi market timing, yaitu investor akan menempatkan aset portofolionya pada pasar saham saat kondisi market diperkirakan akan meningkat (bullish) dan memindahkan aset portofolionya pada instrumen investasi pasar uang (deposito), yang berisiko rendah tapi tetap memberikan return yang rendah pula, saat kondisi market sedang menurun (bearish). Penelitian ini menggunakan indeks saham yang ada di Indonesia, yaitu IHSG, LQ45, dan Bisnis-27, dengan periode penelitian dari Januari 2000 hingga Juni 2013. Penelitian mengunakan metode market extreme, yaitu menentukan kinerja portofolio indeks saham yang mengalami kinerja ekstrim, sebagai timing terjadinya perpindahan aset investor dari pasar saham ke pasar uang dan sebaliknya. Berdasarkan skenario yang telah ditentukan, hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa strategi market timing untuk IHSG dan indeks LQ45 memberikan return lebih tinggi dibandingkan strategi buy-and-hold. Sedangkan penggunaan strategi market timing pada indeks Bisnis-27 memberikan return yang lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan strategi buy-and-hold.

ABSTRACTOne of the investment strategy that can be used by investors is Market Timing strategy explained an investor will put its asset portfolio in the stock market when the market conditions are expected to be bullish and move the assets portfolio to the money market instruments (term deposits), which are low-risk but still can provide low-return, when market conditions are expected to be bearish. This study performed by using Indonesia indices, which are Jakarta Composite Index (JCI), LQ45, and Bisnis-27 with time period of study from January 2000 until June 2013. This study using market extreme methods which determine the performance of a portfolio of stock index that performed extreme, and used as timing for investor to switch asset from stock market to money market and vice versa. Based on pre-defined scenarios, the results show that market timing strategy for JCI and LQ45 provide higher return than strategy buy-and-hold. While the implementation of market timing strategy on Bisnis-27 index gives lower return than buy-and-hold strategy."

"Transit Orientasi Development (TOD) adalah jenis pengembangan perkotaan yang memaksimalkan jumlah tempat tinggal,bisnis dan rekreasi dalam jarak berjalan kaki dari transportasi umum. Semakin padatnya kota Jakarta mendorong pemerintah atau pengembang untuk membuat kawasan TOD. TOD yang dibuat harus mencakup semua aspek tempat tinggal, bisnis dan rekreasi tidak seperti sekarang yang didominasi oleh apartemen. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memaksimalkan fungsi TOD tersebut. Memaksimalkan fungsi TOD dapat dilakukan dengan meningkatnya ridership. Penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk membuat pengguna beralih menggunakan transportasi umum kereta untuk menuju ke pertokoan dan hotel. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa survey dan wawancana akan digunakan dalam menyelesaikan penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa jenis properti hotel lebih banyak menggunakan MRT/KRL dibandingkan dengan jenis properti pertokoan. Selain itu saran strategi perpindahan moda transportasi diberikan berdasarkan hasil benchmarking yang disesuaikan dengan masukan dari pada pengguna, saran strategi berfokus pada 3 faktor utama yaitu waktu, kenyamanan, dan biaya.

Transit Orientation Development (TOD) is a city development concept that maximize the number of residentials, businessess, and recreations within walking distance from the public transportation. As jakarta becomes more crowded, governments or developers are pushed to create TOD area. The TOD concept that is going to be made must consist every aspect such homes, businesses, and recreations different with the existing which dominated by the apartments. This research is hoped to be able to maximize the function of the TOD. Maximizing the functions of TOD can be done by increasing the ridership. This research also aims to make the private transportation users shift to the public train to go to shop matters and hotels. Data collection techniques for this research are in form of surveys and interviews. The results showed that the type of hotel property uses more MRT / KRL compared to the type of shopping property. In addition, the advice on transportation mode transfer strategy is given based on the results of benchmarking which are adjusted to the input from the user, the strategy recommendation focuses on 3 main factors namely time, comfort, and cost."
