"[This book contains selected peer-reviewed papers that were presented at the Fourth International Symposium on Transportation Network Reliability (INSTR) Conference held at the University of Minnesota July 22-23, 2010. International scholars, from a variety of disciplines, engineering, economics, geography, planning and transportation, offer varying perspectives on modeling and analysis of the reliability of transportation networks in order to illustrate both vulnerability to day-to-day and unpredictability variability and risk in travel, and demonstrates strategies for addressing those issues. The scope of the chapters includes all aspects of analysis and design to improve network reliability, specifically user perception of unreliability of public transport, public policy and reliability of travel times, the valuation and economics of reliability, network reliability modeling and estimation, travel behavior and vehicle routing under uncertainty, and risk evaluation and management for transportation networks. The book combines new methodologies and state of the art practice to model and address questions of network unreliability., This book contains selected peer-reviewed papers that were presented at the Fourth International Symposium on Transportation Network Reliability (INSTR) Conference held at the University of Minnesota July 22-23, 2010. "This book reports on cutting-edge theories and methods for analyzing complex systems, such as transportation and communication networks and discusses multi-disciplinary approaches to dependability problems encountered when dealing with complex systems in practice. The book presents the most noteworthy methods and results discussed at the International Conference on Reliability and Statistics in Transportation and Communication (RelStat), which took place in Riga, Latvia on October 17-20, 2018. It spans a broad spectrum of topics, from mathematical models and design methodologies, to software engineering, data security and financial issues, as well as practical problems in technical systems, such as transportation and telecommunications, and in engineering education."

"This book covers reliability assessment and prediction of new technologies such as next generation networks that use cloud computing, Network Function Virtualization (NVF), Software Defined Network (SDN), Next Generation Transport, Evolving Wireless Systems, Digital VoIP Telephony, and Reliability Testing techniques specific to Next Generation Networks (NGN). This book introduces the technology to the reader first, followed by advanced reliability techniques applicable to both hardware and software reliability analysis. The book covers methodologies that can predict reliability using component failure rates to system level downtimes. The books goal is to familiarize the reader with analytical techniques, tools and methods necessary for analyzing very complex networks using very different technologies. The book lets readers quickly learn technologies behind currently evolving NGN and apply advanced Markov modeling and Software Reliability Engineering (SRE) techniques for assessing their operational reliability."

Electrical energy is the energy that is currently most needed, especially for regions that are developing their economies. Based on data in the 2021 RUPTL, electricity demand in Indonesia will reach 1,172 kWh/capita in 2022. This indicates that there is a connection with the reliability of the electricity network used to achieve a good electricity supply for consumers. Therefore, calculations are needed to determine the reliability index value of an electricity network, one of which is by applying the RIA (Reliability Index Assessment) method. The RIA (Reliability Index Assessment) method is a method that can be used to predict disturbances in distribution networks with final results that will be close to actual field results, to minimize disturbances from the electricity network. This research implements the RIA method by calculating the reliability index values in the form of the SAIDI index and SAIFI index which will be compared with the results of network modeling via ETAP 19.0.1 software as well as the SPLN 16 : 2021 and IEEE Std. 1366-2000 standard’s. The final results of the research show that GH0069 has a difference in the SAIDI index value of 4.47245 hours/customer/year, with a SAIDI index of 8.472539 hours/customer/year and a SAIFI index of 0.991283 times/customer/year."
