"Tesis ini membahas pengaruh kondisi politik dalam negeri terhadap abnormal return indeks LQ45 dengan studi kasus peristiwa pergantian kepemimpinan yang ditandai dengan pelaksanaan pemilihan umum untuk memilih presiden dan wakil presiden di Indonesia pada tahun 1999, 2001, 2004, dan 2009. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dan dikembangkan dengan analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa terdapat abnormal return yang signifikan pada pemilu tahun 1999, 2001, 2004 namun tidak signifikan pada tahun 2009 sehingga kondisi pasar modal Indonesia tergolong setengah kuat (semi strong form). Hasil penelitian ini menyarankan untuk meneliti volume perdagangan indeks LQ 45 pada periode yang sama untuk mengukur tingkat abnormal return.

The focus of this study is the influence of domestic political conditions of the LQ45 index abnormal return with case studies of changes in leadership which marked by general elections to elect a president and vice president in Indonesia in 1999, 2001, 2004, and 2009. This study was a quantitative research and was developed by descriptive analysis. This research found that there is a significant abnormal return in the 1999, 2001, and 2004 general elections but not significantly so in 2009, therefore the Indonesian capital market conditions is relatively half strong (semi-strong form). These results suggest to investigate the trading volume of LQ 45 index over the same period to measure the level of abnormal return."
