"Reed Solomon (RS) codes is a mechanism to detect and correct burst of errors in data transmission and storage systems.
It provides a solid introduction to foundation mathematical concept of Galois Field algebra and its application. With the
development of digital hardware technology, the RS concepts were brought into reality, i.e. the implementation of RS
codec chips. This paper presents the development steps of a generic RS encoder using VHDL. The encoder is able to
handle generic width of data, variable length of information, number of error as well as variable form of primitive
polynomial and generator polynomial used in the system. The design has been implemented for FPGA chip Xilinx
XC3S200-5FT256 and has a better performance than commercially available equivalent encoder."

Misalkan A dan B merupakan kode linier atas F_ q^m dengan panjang n, maka A,B disebut t-error correcting pair t-ECP untuk C jika A B perp;C, k A >t, d B^ perp; >t, dan d A d C >n.

ABSTRACT
Let F q n be the set of all n tuple element which each coordinate is an element of F q. A linear code C is a subspace of F q n and can be written as n,k,d code. Let A and B be linear codes over F q m with length n. Then A,B is called t error correcting pair t ECP for C if A B perp C, k A t, d B perp t, and d A d C n. This study shows that the non GRS MDS code and the AMDS n,1,n 1 code have 1 error correcting pair. This study also shows that the AMDS code n,n 1,1 has no error correcting pair."

ABSTRACT

This study examines the migration process of Ethiopian Jews to Israel which was carried out by three Israeli intelligence operations in the form of Operation Moses (1984), Operation Joshua (1985), and Operation Solomon (1991). The Ethiopian Jewish community is an ancient Jewish group that had inhabited Ethiopia for thousands of years. They are also called Beita Israel (House of Israel) or Falasha (foreigners). The civil war, drought and discrimination experienced by Ethiopian Jews in 1980s and early 1990s forced some of them to flee and find ways to get to Israel. This research focuses on answering questions about why Israeli government was willing to save the Ethiopian Jews and how Israel carried out its intelligence operations in a hostile environment of East African countries. This research also uses a historical method that focuses on the analysis of both primary and secondary sources through four stages, namely Heuristics, Verification, Interpretation and Historiography. Israel was willing to accept Jewish immigrants from Ethiopia because of the identity they have in common. Israel carried out its intelligence operations with the help of the United States through secret negotiations with the government of Ethiopia and Sudan which acted as the host countries for Ethiopian Jewish refugees. Israel's economic and military assistance was given to these countries so they would be willing to allow the Israeli government to bring Ethiopian Jews from their country. The evacuation process was carried out in secret airlifts.

"Solomon memorably defined philosophy itself as ?the thoughtful love of life?, and despite the diversity of his output, he was most drawn by central questions about the meaning of life, the essential role that emotions play in finding that meaning, and the human imperative to seek ?emotional integrity?, in which one?s thoughts, emotions, and actions all contribute to a coherent narrative. The essays included here draw attention to the interconnections between the issues Solomon addressed, and evince the manner in which he embodied that integrity, living a life at one with his philosophy. They emphasize the central themes of passion, ethics, and spirituality, which threaded through his work, and the way these ideas informed his views on how we should approach grief and death."
