"Telekomunikasi merupakan salah satu sektor industri strategis dalam penyediaan layanan publik untuk menyampaikan informasi. Dalam era globalisasi dan liberalisasi, sektor ini memegang peranan penting mendukung dan meningkatkan persaingan bisnis dan perekonomian. Sistem pengiriman pesan (messaging system) yang telah ada saat ini sudah banyak dikenal dan dimanfaatkan secara luas oleh masyarakat baik berupa voicemail, faks, e-mail, SMS dan lain-lain.
Menangkap perkembangan ini, PT. Telkom Divre II memanfaatkan peluang tersebut dan menawarkan suatu solusi yang akan mengintegrasikan berbagai bentuk messaging system ke satu sistem, dikenal dengan nama Telkom Informasi Lintas Media (Telkom Infolima) dibangun melalui teknologi UMS (Unified Messaging System).
Dalam tesis ini mencoba menyajikan analisa peluang bisnis messages bagi PT. Telkom Divre II dilihat dari berbagai aspek, yaitu aspek pasar, aspek pesaing, aspek internal organisasi, aspek regulasi dan aspek teknis. Analisa dilakukan melalui pengolahan data dari berbagai sumber yang ada. Analisa strategi bisnis messages didasarkan pada analisa SWOT yang memperhatikan kekuatan, kelemahan internal, ancaman eksternal serta peluang yang ada, analisa kelayakan investasi dengan menggunakan metode payback period, internal rate of return, net present value dan profitability index. Dalam mengimplementasikan produk Telkom InfoLima ini dibutuhkan juga perencanaan pemasaran di antaranya segmentasi pasar, menentukan target pasar dan melakukan positioning agar bisa merumuskan strategi bauran pemasaran yang merupakan strategi pemasaran.
Dari hasil analisa peluang bisnis messages ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa produk Telkom InfoLima, di mana PT. Telkom dalam rangka untuk mencapai tujuan menjadi full service and network provider dengan kemampuan multi service bundling serta berusaha untuk menjadi leader dalam bisnis InfoCom agar dapat memimpin persaingan dan mempertahankan tingkat volume serta pendapatan. Berdasarkan hasil analisa SWOT, kelayakan investasi dan analisa bauran pemasaran tampak bahwa bisnis messages ini layak untuk diimplementasikan.

Telecommunication is one of the strategic industry preparation public service bringing the information. In this era of globalization and liberation this sector has grabbled part of important thing for sending information and increasing competition and economy. The messaging system in this era, has been knowing and used by the community whether its voicemail, fax, email, SMS and others. Responding that, PT. Telkom Divre 11, advantage the opportunities and offering a solution to integrate many kind of messages system into one system, known as Telkom Informasi Lintas Media (Telkom InfoLima) which developed by Unified Messaging Systems concept.
The opportunity of messages business for PT. Telkom Divre II Jakarta, consider by market aspect, competitor aspect, internal organization aspect, regulated aspect and technical aspect. Strategy business messaging based on SWOT analyzed which included internal strong and weakness, external threats and also the opportunities from any available sources. Feasible studies of investment through payback period internal rate of return, net present value and profitability index method. In implemented the Telkom InfoLima product needs marketing planning too, including market segmentation, market targeting and positioning market, then it could be formulated marketing mix as part of marketing strategy.
From opportunity messages business analyze, have end result that product of Telkom InfoLima, in purpose to be full service and network provider with ability multi service bundling and to become a leader in Information and Communication business, stronger in the competition, maintaining volume level and earning for Telkom. As the result of SWOT analyzed, study of investment and marketing mix strategy, the business of unified messaging systems as known as Telkom InfoLima is feasible to be implemented.

"Tingkat persaingan yang tinggi di bidang penyedia jasa internet diikuti dengan tren penurunan harga akses internet, menjadi faktor-faktor penyebab penurunan pendapatan PT. Indointernet. Oleh karena itu, untuk dapat bersaing, PT. Indointernet memerlukan layanan tambahan yang dapat memberikan kontribusi pada pendapatannya. Salah satu layanan tambahan tersebut adalah SecureNET yang menyediakan layanan keamanan akses internet ke pelanggan. Penelitian ini membahas tentang perencanaan strategi bisnis layanan SecureNET. SecureNET diimplementasikan sebagai value added service layanan akses internet dibidang keamanan internet. Layanan tersebut ditujukan untuk meminimalisir ancaman-ancaman dari internet yang semakin meningkat. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan konsep Porter?s 5 Forces untuk analisa tingkat kompetitif dan perencanaan strategi Balanced Scorecard (BSC), yang diawali dengan identifikasi SWOT pada masing-masing perspektif BSC. Hasil identifikasi tersebut diharapkan dapat menjadi dasar dalam analisa penentuan arah strategi untuk mencapai tujuan dan target layanan.

High level of competition in internet service provider followed by decreasing trends of internet access cost, have become factors that caused PT. Indointernet revenue decrease. In order to stay competitive, PT. Indointernet require additional services that can contributes to its revenue. One of those value added services is SecureNET that provides internet security service to customers. This research discussed SecureNET business strategic planning. SecureNET implemented as a value added service for internet access service in the field of internet security. Purpose of this service is to minimize the increasing internet threats. This research conducted using Porter?s 5 Forces and Balance Scorecard (BSC) strategic planning concept, that began with SWOT identification in each BSC perspectives. The result of this phase will become the foundation in strategy direction analysis to fulfill the service?s goals and targets."

"Monetary crisis blowing Indonesia in the middle of July 1997 has brought significant impact especially to business sector. The economic crisis for PT. Inti Teknodrilindo constituted a serious threat instead of positive impact. Therefore, the management conducted various strategies in order to survive by means of internal improvement and efficiency strategies. It allowed the company to keep exist until today. The author was encouraged to study about company strategies.
This study was conducted in descriptive manner, the author presented empirical data relating to strategies applied by PT. Inti Teknodrilindo; how to analyze company strategies (uncertainty) to enable the company escape from the crisis. In order to analyze strategies of PT. Inti Teknodrilindo, the author collected primary or secondary data. The primary data includes result of detailed interview with PT. Inti Teknodrilindo top management as well as board of directors and managers in analyzing the primary and secondary data, the author adopted macro analysis from Pearce and Robinson, five forces from Porter, namely five farces That influence industrial competitiveness. In order to ensure factual activities conducted by PT. Inti Teknodrilindo, the author also adopted value chain from Michael Porter, which analyzes a set of activities in detailed as well as company's activities to discover the most significant factor for strategies applied by the company. Strategy generic from Pearce and Robinson and Laurence R. Jauch. Turnaround strategy is a theory the author applied to come into conclusion that the strategy used by PT. Inti Teknodrilindo was an turnaround strategy by retrenchment strategy being indicated by cost and asset reduction through employee rationalization, fix asset sales and changing composition of the shareholders. Meanwhile, turnaround strategy was followed by concentric diversification strategy, namely to diversify service coverage in oil & gas exploration and exploitation project by means of establishing subsidiaries, cooperation with other parties in joining various oil & gas drilling tenders, acquisition of the company which is having line business with PT. Inti Teknodrilindo, to find focusing on service or product."
