"ABSTRAKTesis ini menganalisis bagaimana wartawan kepresidenan menilai kompetensi kepemimpinan Presiden SBY. Karena sehari-hari dalam pekerjaannya wartawan kepresidenan sering berinteraksi atau minimal mengamati Presiden SBY dari dekat. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan bersifat eksplanatif. Penelitian ini menghasilkan temuan bahwa penilaian wartawan kepresidenan tentang kompetensi kepemimpinan Presiden SBY didasari oleh latar orientasi terhadap nilai-nilai jurnalistik dan pandangan politik.

"ABSTRAKDisertasi ini membahas konflik antara Palestina-Israel dalam memperebutkan Jerusalem sebagai tanah yang dijanjikan. Indonesia telah memiliki komitmen sejak era pemerintahan Soekarno hingga saat ini dalam memberikan dukungan kepada Palestina untuk menjadi negara yang merdeka. Pada penelitiaan ini pemerintahan Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono selama dua periode menjadi fokus utama. Penelitian ini mengemukakan bagaimana peran pemerintah Indonesia dalam memberikan dukungan kepada Palestina, serta dukungan legislatif terhadap kemerdekaan Palestina dan peranan civil society dalam memberikan dukungan baik secara moril maupun materil kepada Palestina. Disisi lain, penelitian ini juga memerlihatkan bagaimana peran negara-negara yang tergabung didalam PBB merespon konflik Palestina-Israel.Sebagai pijakan teori, penelitian ini menggunakan teori kebijakan dari Carl Friedrich sebagi teori utama. Selain itu, teori civil society dari Jean L Cohen dan Andrew Arato, teori politik internasional dari Jackson Robert dan Georg Sorensen, teori konflik dari Thomas Hobbes dan Ted Robert Gurr, serta teori kebijakan dari Thomas R. Dye digunakan sebagai teori pendukung.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pendekatan kualitatif dan metode analisis deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan mengumpulkan data melalui riset data perpustakaan, wawancara mendalam (in-depth interview) dengan pihak pemerintah dalam hal ini kementerian luar negeri Republik Indonesia, dengan Duta Besar Palestina untuk Indonesia, dan dengan fraksi-fraksi yang ada di legislatif, serta studi dokumentasi.Temuan penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa peranan legislatif, civil society serta pemerintah Indonesia sangat besar terhadap kemerdekaan Palestina. Walaupun terdapat perbedaan dalam pandangan fraksi-fraksi dalam melihat bagaimana peran pemerintah Indonesia serta pemerintah Palestina itu sendiri, tetapi prinsipnya adalah satu tujuan yaitu kemerdekaan Palestina. Implikasi teoritis ini menunjukan bahwa teori dari Carl Friedrich sangat relevan dalam melihat persoalan konflik Palestina-Israel.

ABSTRACT

This dissertation discusses the conflict between Palestine-Israel in the fight over Jerusalem as the promised land. Indonesia has been committed since the era of Soekarno to date in providing support to Palestine to become an independent state. In this penelitiaan President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono during two periods of the primary focus. This study suggests how the Indonesian government's role in providing support to the Palestinians, as well as legislative support for the independence of Palestine and the role of civil society in providing support both morally and materially to the Palestinians. On the other hand, the study also memerlihatkan how the role of the countries that joined the UN in responding to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

As foothold theory, this study uses the theory of Carl Friedrich policy as a major theories. In addition, civil society theory of Jean L Cohen and Andrew Arato, international political theory of Jackson Robert and Georg Sorensen, conflict theory of Thomas Hobbes and Ted Robert Gurr, as well as the policy theory of Thomas R. Dye used as a supporting theory.

This study used a qualitative approach and descriptive analysis method. Data collected by collecting data through data and research libraries, in-depth interviews with the government in this case the foreign ministry of the Republic of Indonesia, the Palestinian Ambassador to Indonesia, and with factions in the legislature, as well as documentation.

The findings of this study show that the role of the legislature, civil society and the government of Indonesia is very large for the independence of Palestine. Although there are differences in views factions in seeing how the role of the Indonesian government and the Palestinian Authority itself, but the principle is the goal of Palestinian independence. This indicated that the theoretical implications of the theory of Carl Friedrich particularly relevant in view of the issue of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict."
