"Two major types of ship cloths were once woven in South Sumatra. One, called tampan, is a relatively small rectangle or square as illus¬trated in plates 1 through 55. The other, termed palepai, is a long, narrow rectangle which may average three meters or more in length as in plates 56 through 80. Woven from cotton or cotton and silk, their intricate designs of ships, animals, trees, and people are created by colored supplementary weft threads whose rich reds, blues, or yellows p subtly contrast with the natural color of the foundation fibers. Metal¬lic strips and threads frequently lend glittering highlights or outline major shapes. Two lesser forms are the tampan madju (Chijs 1877, p. 20) and tatibin. The tampan madju, seen in plate 81, is painstakingly built up with strings of beads, and only three of these remarkable objects exist in collections today.l Almost as rare are the tatibin, cloths which resemble the long textiles in technique and design, but are small by comparison, averaging only 1 to 1.5 meters in length as in plate 82.2"

"This book summarizes results of longstanding research and scientific contributions from many projects and relevant working groups. It collects and evaluates wind and wave climate projections under changing climate having design needs and marine safety in focus. Potential impact of projected climate change in met-ocean conditions on ships and offshore structures is discussed and illustrated by an example of the expected wave climate change on tanker design."

ABSTRACT
The advancement of Indonesias Matirim sector cannot be separated from the growth of the shipyard industry. In designing new ships, more than 50% of the total working hour time is spent determining pipe routing. The length of time required to design the routing pipe occurs because the level of complexity of each newly designed ship is different, and each new ship requires its own Ship Pipe Route Design (SPRD). Therefore, there needs to be a way to accelerate/design the Ship Pipe Route Design. Optimization of the Ship Pipe Route Design is one of the methods used to get the maximum pipe routing results. Pipe routing is said to be optimal if it fulfils, among others: much space is still available after the pipe is installed, the cost of the material used is small, there is good access, and convenient when repairs are made. This study aims to optimize pipe routing. You do this by using algorithms in the computer field. The algorithm used is the Dijkstra algorithm. Dijkstras algorithm is an algorithm that focuses on finding the nearest path or shortest result (start point and endpoint)."

"This book introduces a holistic approach to ship design and its optimisation for life-cycle operation. It deals with the scientific background of the adopted approach and the associated synthesis model, which follows modern computer aided engineering (CAE) procedures. It integrates techno-economic databases, calculation and multi-objective optimisation modules and s/w tools with a well-established Computer-Aided Design (CAD) platform, along with a Virtual Vessel Framework (VVF), which will allow virtual testing before the building phase of a new vessel. The resulting graphic user interface (GUI) and information exchange systems enable the exploration of the huge design space to a much larger extent and in less time than is currently possible, thus leading to new insights and promising new design alternatives. The book not only covers the various stages of the design of the main ship system, but also addresses relevant major onboard systems/components in terms of life-cycle performance to offer readers a better understanding of suitable outfitting details, which is a key aspect when it comes the outfitting-intensive products of international shipyards. The book disseminates results of the EU funded Horizon 2020 project HOLISHIP (www.holiship.eu).;"
