"Material requirements planning (MRP) is a computerized manufacturing control system that was originally developed by Joseph Orlicky in the early 1960s. Promoted and spread through manufacturing companies, MRP has become the single most widely implemented production and control technique in use. With the increase of competitiveness among manufacturing companies, effective material control system has been one of critical success factors for manufacturers to be competitive in the competitive market. Effective implementation of MRP has been a cornerstone for an effective production planning and material control. This thesis captures problems of current material control system of one manufacturing company and covers subjects on analysis and design for effective implementation of MRP. Structured Analysis and Design methods are used for development of process modeling and data modeling. The outcomes of this study are concept of MRP, requirement specification, data flow diagram, E-R diagram, data model and data dictionary for MRP system analysis and design."

"Tugas akhir ini membahas masalah perancangan alat bantu untuk proses permesinan dengan metode DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan suatu desain alat bantu (jig) untuk proses permesinan pada mesin chamfering DR 99 agar dapat di gunakan untuk dua model sepeda motor (tipe GLK dan KEH). Dalam proses penelitian, dilakukan analisa terhadap kebutuhan pelanggan sebagai dasar dalam proses perancangan desain baru. Dari penelitian ini didapatkan kesimpulan bahwa hasil rancangan alat bantu yang baru dapat digunakan untuk dua model sepeda motor (tipe GLK dan KEH).

The focus of this study is jig design for machinery process by DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly) methode. The purpose of this study is to get a jig design for machinery process on DR 99 Chamfering Machine which can used by two models of motorcycle (type : GLK and KEH). Analysis to customer need have done as basic consideration of new design. We get a conclusion that the new design can used by two models of motorcycle (type : GLK and KEH)."
