"Kemacetan lalu lintas merupakan salah satu masalah utama yang dialami oleh warga Jakarta. Salah satu penyebab utama kemacetan di Jakarta adalah persimpangan-persimpangan jalan. Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk menangani permasalahan-permasalahan lalu lintas yang terjadi di persimpangan jalan yang dilengkapi dengan flyover. Dengan memilih suatu persimpangan jalan yang dilengkapi dengan flyover sebagai sampel penelitian, penulis melakukan pendekatan traffic engineering untuk memperoleh suatu solusi berupa model persimpangan jalan dengan flyover yang bebas dari kemacetan. Aplikasi secara luas terhadap persimpangan-persimpangan jalan penting lain di Jakarta juga dilakukan dengan harapan solusi ini dapat mengatasi kemacetan lalu lintas yang terjadi di Jakarta.

Traffic jam has always been a major problem faced by the citizens of Jakarta. One of its causes lays on the existence of junctions. This study is especially made toseek for the solutions of the traffic jam that happens at junctions equipped with flyover. By choosing one particular junction as the study sample, the writer is using a traffic engineering approach to reach a solution in the form of a junction model with flyover that is free from traffic jam. A wide application upon the other substantial junctions in Jakarta is also implemented in this study with an expection that this could handle the problem of traffic jam in Jakarta."
