"When budgets are dwindling, deadlines passing, and tempers flaring, the usual response is to browbeat the project team and point fingers of blame. Not helpful. For these situations, what is needed is an objective process for accurately assessing what is wrong and a clear plan of action for fixing the problem. "Rescue the Problem Project" provides project managers, executives, and customers with the answers they require. Turnaround specialist Todd Williams has worked with dozens of companies in multiple industries resuscitating failing projects. In this new book, he reveals an in-depth, start-to-finish process that includes: techniques for identifying the root causes of the trouble; steps for putting projects back on track audit the project, analyze the data, negotiate the solution, and execute the new plan; nearly 70 real-world examples of what works, what doesn't, and why; and, guidelines for avoiding problems in subsequent projects. Many books explain how to run a project, but only this one shows how to bring it back from the brink of disaster. And with 65 per cent of projects failing to meet goals and 25 per cent cancelled outright, that's essential information."

"Between time constraints, technical challenges, and limited resources, nearly all projects are risky. It stands to reason that project risk management is one of the most important areas making up the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK[registered]). "Identifying and Managing Project Risk" is an immensely practical guide that helps readers minimize the possibility of failure in critical projects by identifying every possible risk ...and then managing it effectively."

"Seeing a project through to completion involves not just technical knowledge--of tools like Work Breakdown Schedule, Gantt Charts, and Network Analysis--but also human skills, such as the ability to communicate, negotiate, listen, and lead. After all, it's people who do most of the work on projects, and "people problems" can derail even the most meticulously planned project. Practical and user-friendly, A Survival Guide for Project Managers covers both the technical side and the human side."

"Project management is one of the fastest-growing occupations in the world. The Project Management Institute (PMI) has seen membership growth of more than 1000 per cent in the last ten years, with members in 157 countries. But while many of these managers know how to plan a successful project in theory, very few have the practical tools they need to navigate the politics of today's corporate world. Project managers need more than just good technical skills; they need the right communication skills to succeed. "Project Management Strategy" helps readers deal with the reality of unreasonable deadlines and difficult projects and shows them how to accomplish their goals without alienating their executive sponsors or the team working under them. Filled with real-world examples based on the author's ten years of project management experience in Fortune 500 companies, this book gives readers the tools they need to handle even the most challenging situations. The only book to address the real challenges project managers face today, this is an accessible and invaluable tool that will show readers how to accomplish their mission - no matter what the obstacles."

Delay in project implementation is still experienced in project based organization. This organization also experienced delay in project implementation for almost 66 from their project in 2015.
Readiness level in planning and executing project is one of the factor that cause delay in project implementation. If a company have higher level in project management maturity, there will be higher readiness level when planning and executing the project. Therefore this company will need measurement for maturity level in project management to enable the company decide which step they need to do to gain higher level in project management maturity. PMMM will be used as measurement model for this research. Questionnaire and interview will held for specified respondents.
Based on measurement, two out of six project manager passed the first level and three out of five category also passed in second level. Based on the result, some recommendation on each level submitted to this company to ensure this company comply with PMMM minimum passing score. The recommendations are arrange training and certification to each PM with own curriculum, integrate cost and schedule control in new system, and encourage all project member to use proper tools or system on each project.
