"Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara self-regulation dan self-esteem pada mahasiswa psikologi jenjang sarjana. Self-regulation merupakan kemampuan seseorang dalam mengarahkan tingkah lakunya untuk mencapai hasil yang diinginkan di masa mendatang (Carey, Neal, dan Collins, 2004). Sedangkan self-esteem adalah sikap seseorang terhadap dirinya, baik positif maupun negatif, secara keseluruhan (Rosenberg, dalam Mruk, 2006). Pengukuran self-regulation menggunakan alat ukur Short Self-Regulation Questionnaire (SSRQ) dan pengukuran self-esteem menggunakan alat ukur Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES). Penelitian ini melibatkan 179 responden yang merupakan mahasiswa jenjang sarjana reguler dan paralel Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Indonesia angkatan 2009, 2010, 2011, dan 2012.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara self-regulation dengan selfesteem pada mahasiswa psikologi jenjang sarjana (r = 0,519; p = 0.001). Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi bahan pertimbangan bagi para pembuat kebijakan untuk lebih peka terhadap keadaan psikologis mahasiswa. Untuk penelitian lebih lanjut, perolehan data dapat dilengkapi dengan metode wawancara atau focus group discussion (FGD) untuk mengetahui gambaran yang lebih spesifik terkait self-regulation dan self-esteem mahasiswa.

This research is carried out to identify the relationship between self-regulation and self-esteem among undergraduate psychology students. Self-regulation is a person’s ability to direct behavior in order to achieve desired outcomes in the future (Carey, Neal, & Collins, 2004). Self-esteem is a positive or negative attitude toward the self of a person as a whole (Rosenberg, in Mruk, 2006). Selfregulation was measured by the adaptation version of Short Self-Regulation Questionnaire (SSRQ) and self-esteem was measured by Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES). Research participants were 179 undergraduate psychology students at Universitas Indonesia from years of 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012.
The results indicate a significant positive correlation between self-regulation and self-esteem among psychology undergraduate students (r = 0,519; p = 0.001). Results of this study might be taken as a consideration for the policymakers of the faculty to be more sensitive to the psychological state of the students. For further study, the data acquisition could be equipped with interviews or focus group discussion (FGD) to explore more specific overview about self-regulation and self-esteem of students.

"Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mendapatkan gambaran mengenai hubungan antara self-esteem dan motivasi berprestasi dalam hope of success dan fear of failure pada remaja jalanan. Self-esteem ialah komponen evaluasi diri, penilaian afektif yang berpengaruh pada konsep diri. Motivasi berprestasi adalah kebutuhan untuk menampilkan sesuatu dengan baik atau berjuang untuk sukses dan dibuktikan dengan ketekunan dan usaha dalam menghadapi kesulitan. Motivasi berprestasi dapat dikatakan sebagai kombinasi dari dua variabel kepribadian yaitu kecenderungan untuk mencapai kesuksesan dan kecenderungan menghindari kegagalan.
Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Pengukuran self-esteem menggunakan Rosenberg’s Self-Esteem Scale (RSES) dan pengukuran motivasi berprestasi menggunakan alat ukur Achievement Motives Scale-Revised (AMS-R). Partisipan berjumlah 58 remaja jalanan.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara self-esteem dan hope of success pada remaja jalanan (r=0,286; p=0,029) dan hubungan negatif yang signifikan antara self-esteem dan fear of failure pada remaja jalanan (r=-0,437; p=0,01). Remaja jalanan yang memiliki self-esteem tinggi akan lebih termotivasi untuk meraih kesuksesan dalam kehidupannya.

This research was conducted to find the relationship between self-esteem and achievement motivation in hope of success and fear of failure among street youth. Self-Esteem is self-evaluation components, affective appraisal which affects the self-concept. Achievement motivation is the need to perform well or the striving for success, evidenced by persistence and effort in the face of difficulties.
This study used quantitative method. Self-esteem was measured by Rosenberg’s Self-esteem Scale (RSES) and achievement motivation was measured by Achievement Motives Scale-Revised (AMS-R). Data was analyzed using Pearson Product-Moment Correlation technique. The participants were 58 street youth.
The result of this study showed that there is a positive significant correlation between self-esteem and hope of success (r=0,286; p=0,029) and a negative significant correlation between self-esteem and fear of failure (r=-0,437; p=0,01). Street youth with high self-esteem will be more motivated to achieve success in life.

"[ABSTRAK
Skripsi ini membahas hubungan antara branded product meanings dan self-esteem pada mahasiswa. Penelitian merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional menggunakan teknik korelasi ganda. Responden diambil menggunakan teknik accidental sampling berjumlah 151 mahasiswa angkatan 2013 di Universitas Indonesia yang memiliki pengetahuan mengenai branded products di Indonesia. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan kuesioner Branded Product Meanings dari Strizhakova, Coulter, & Price (2008) dan Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSE) dari Rosenberg (1965). Hasil uji statistik menunjukkan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara branded product meanings dan self-esteem (r=0,356, p<0,05). Hasil tersebut didominasi oleh dimensi Nilai pada branded product meanings yang berhubungan signifikan dengan self-esteem (r=0,277, p<0,05). Hasil tersebut menunjukkan semakin tinggi pemaknaan nilai pada branded products, maka semakin tinggi juga self-esteem pada mahasiswa. Penelitian ini dapat digunakan bagi produsen, universitas, dan pengamat bahwa branded products meanings dapat menjadi salah satu sarana dalam meningkatkan self-esteem. Penelitian selanjutnya dapat menjadikan pemaknaan nilai sebagai mediator hubungan antara brand dengan self-esteem.

This study explored the relationship between branded product meanings and selfesteem among college student. This study was quantitative design which use multiple correlation technical statistics. The respondent were 151 college students batch 2013 in Universitas Indonesia who have knowledge about branded products in Indonesia with obtained by accidental sampling technique. Branded product meanings questionnaire from Strizhakova, Coulter, & Price (2008) and Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSE) were used to collect data. The result indicates that positive significant correlation between branded product meanings and selfesteem (r=0,356, p<0,05). This result dominated by domain of value from branded product meanings which has significant correlation with self-esteem (r=0,277, p<0,05). That means higher meanings in Value domain of branded product meanings indicates higher self-esteem among college student. This Study can by used by company, university, and expertise to improve self-esteem of college student by increase his/her meanings to branded product. "Kesehatan mental dibutuhkan mahasiswa psikologi terkait persiapan mereka untuk berkecimpung dalam helping profession. Dukungan sosial, terutama perceived social support, dan self-esteem dapat memengaruhi kesehatan mental (Taylor & Brown, 1988; Vinokur, Schul, & Caplan, 1987; Zimet, Dahlem, Zimet & Farley 1988). Berbagai penelitian menemukan semakin tinggi perceived social support seseorang, semakin tinggi self-esteem yang dimiliki. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara perceived social support dan selfesteem mahasiswa psikologi jenjang sarjana. Perceived social support diukur dengan Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (Zimet et al., 1988) dan self-esteem dengan Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (Rosenberg, 1965). Dari 184 mahasiswa jenjang sarjana Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Indonesia yang menjadi partisipan, hasil yang didapatkan menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif yang signifikan antara perceived social support dan self-esteem pada mahasiswa psikologi jenjang sarjana (r = 0.274; p < 0.01). Berdasarkan hasil, pendidikan psikologi dapat memerhatikan perceived social support sebagai salah satu cara meningkatkan self-esteem mahasiswa, seperti dengan melakukan intervensi psikoedukasi.

Psychology students need good mental health to be a helping professional. Social support, especially perceived social support, and self-esteem found to influence mental health (Taylor & Brown, 1988; Vinokur, Schul, & Caplan, 1987; Zimet, Dahlem, Zimet & Farley 1988). Recent studies found that people with higher level of perceived social support are having higher level of self-esteem. This research was conducted to find the relation between perceived social support and self-esteem in undergraduate psychology students. Perceived social support was measured using Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (Zimet et al., 1988) and self-esteem was measured using Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (Rosenberg, 1965). The participants of this research are 184 University of Indonesia undergraduate psychology students. The main results of this research show that perceived social support correlated significantly with self-esteem (r = 0.274; p < 0.01). Results of this study may be taken by psychology educational institution to increase the concern of perceived social support as one of the factor to increase their students’ self-esteem level, for example is by making a psychoeducational intervention."

"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan antara self esteem dan compulsive buying pada wanita dewasa muda. Compulsive buying merupakan perilaku belanja yang tidak terkontrol, berulang-ulang, dan memiliki dorongan kuat untuk berbelanja yang dianggap sebagai cara untuk menghilangkan perasaan negatif seperti stress dan kecemasan. Sementara self esteem adalah penilaian yang diberikan seseorang terhadap dirinya yang diekspresikan melalui sikap menerima atau menolak dirinya sehingga terlihat sejauhmana individu meyakini bahwa dirinya mampu, penting, sukses, dan berharga. Penelitian dilakukan secara kuantitatif dengan menggunakan 2 instrumen pengukuran yang mengukur self esteem dan compulsive buying. Partisipan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 105 orang wanita dewasa muda dengan rentang usia 20 ? 40 tahun. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang negatif dan signifikan antara self esteem dan compulsive buying pada wanita dewasa muda, dengan nilai r = -0.416.

The current study examined the relationship between self esteem and compulsive buying among young adulthood women. Compulsive buying is a shopping behavior in which the afflicted consumer has overpowering, uncontrollable, chronic, and repetitive urge to shop as a means of alleviating negative feelings of stress and anxiety. Meanwhile, self esteem is the evaluation a person makes of her/himself, expressed an attitude of approval or disapproval and indicates whether or not the person believes her/himself to be capable, significant, successful, and worthy. Using quantitative method, self esteem and compulsive buying instruments have been developed and given to 105 young adulthood women. Result indicated that there are negative and significant relationship between self esteem and compulsive buying among young adulthood women, with r = -0.416."

"Penelitian ini merupakan replikasi dari penelitian yang dilakukan oleh Itani, (2011) yang bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan antara body image, self-esteem dan prestasi akademik. Pada penelitian ini partisipan yang digunakan adalah mahasiswi Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Indonesia (N=99). Pengukuran body image menggunakan alat ukur Multidimensional Body-Self Relations Questionnaire - Appearance Scale (MBSRQ-AS oleh Cash, dalam Itani, 2011), pengukuran self-esteem menggunakan Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale (RSES oleh Rosenberg, dalam Itani, 2011) sedangkan pengukuran prestasi akademik menggunakan Indeks Prestasi Kumulatif (IPK).
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang positif signifikan antara body image dan self-esteem pada mahasiswi (r= .215, p <.05). Artinya, semakin tinggi body image para partisipan, maka semakin tinggi self-esteem yang mereka miliki. Hasil lain dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat hubungan antara body image dengan prestasi akademik dan tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara self-esteem dengan prestasi akademik. Dari hasil penelitian ini dapat dikembangkan lebih jauh penelitian yang lebih terfokus pada partisipan dalam kelompok middle adolescent, berdasarkan pemikiran bahwa middle adolescent menaruh perhatian lebih besar pada penampilan fisik.

This study is a replication of a study conducted by Itani,(2011) which aims to find relationship between body image, self-esteem and academic achievement. Participants of this study are female students of the Faculty of Psychology, University of Indonesia (N=99) who are late adolescents. Body image was measured by Multidimensional Body-Self Relations Questionnaire - Appearance Scale (MBSRQ-A by Cash, in Itani, 2011), self-esteem was measured by Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale (RSES by Rosenberg in Itani, 2011) while academic achievement was measured by using Grade Point Average (GPA).
The results of this study indicate that there is a significant positive relationship between body image and self-esteem in female student (r= .215, p <.05). It means that the higher the participant’s body image, the higher the self-esteem they have. Then, another result from this research indicate that there is no significant correlations between body image and academic achievement and there is no significant correlation between self-esteem with academic achievement. From the result of this research further research can be developed to focus on middle-adolescent participants, based on previous results that middle adolescents paid more attention to physical appearance.

"Kala memasuki lingkungan perkuliahan, mahasiswa baru dihadapkan dengan beragam tantangan. Banyaknya rintangan yang harus mereka lalui dapat menimbulkan distres psikologis dalam diri mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki hubungan antara distres psikologis dan self-esteem pada mahasiswa baru, juga life satisfaction sebagai mediator dalam hubungan antara kedua variabel tersebut. Penelitian dilakukan dengan melibatkan 255 mahasiswa baru dengan meminta mereka mengisi kuesioner penelitian, termasuk alat ukur Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, Satisfaction with Life Scale, dan Self-Reporting Questionnaire (20 item). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa life satisfaction memediasi secara parsial hubungan antara self-esteem dan distres psikologis (indirect effect (b = -0,1121, SE = 0,0395, 95% CI [-0,1913, -0,0358]) dan direct effect (b = -0,4912, SE = 0,0633, 95% CI [-0,6159, -0,3665]) signifikan, p < 0,001). Implikasi terhadap pengalaman mahasiswa baru di Indonesia, khususnya terkait pentingnya intervensi terhadap distres psikologis yang mereka alami, juga didiskusikan dalam laporan ini.

Upon entering university, new students are faced with various challenges. These myriad obstacles may cause the occurrence of psychological distress within them. This research investigated the relationship between psychological distress and self-esteem in university freshmen, as well as life satisfaction as a mediator in the relationship between them. Research was done by asking 255 university freshmen to complete a questionnaire of the research instruments, including Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, Satisfaction with Life Scale, and Self-Reporting Questionnaire (20 items). This research yielded evidence that life satisfaction partially mediates the relationship between self-esteem and psychological distress (significant indirect effect (b = -0,1121, SE = 0,0395, 95% CI [-0,1913, -0,0358]) and direct effect (b = -0,4912, SE = 0,0633, 95% CI [-0,6159, -0,3665]), p < 0,001). Research implications towards the experience of university freshmen in Indonesia, particularly regarding the importance of interventions regarding psychological distress they may experience, are discussed."

"Perilaku asertif menjadi salah satu keterampilan yang perlu diterapkan oleh mahasiswa. Social Skills Training (SST) adalah salah satu upaya yang dilakukan oleh Prodi Ilmu Kesejahteraan Sosial, Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik, Universitas Indonesia untuk meningkatkan perilaku asertif pada Mahasiswa Ilmu Kesejahteraan Sosial. Dalam Social Skills Training (SST) tersebut, terdapat pengenalan mengenai self-esteem dan penerimaan sosial mahasiswa sebagai upaya meningkatkan perilaku asertif. Sementara itu, berdasarkan teori, hubungan penerimaan sosial, perilaku asertif, dan self-esteem memiliki hubungan yang berjenjang di mana penerimaan sosial memengaruhi self-esteem kemudian self-esteem memengaruhi perilaku asertif. Dari hal tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan penerimaan sosial terhadap perilaku asertif mahasiswa dengan self-esteem sebagai variabel antara. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian survei dan instrumen berupa kuesioner. Penelitian cross-sectional ini dilakukan pada bulan Februari sampai dengan April 2023 secara online melalui Google formulir. Responden dalam penelitian ini adalah 83 Mahasiswa Ilmu Kesejahteraan Sosial, Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik, Universitas Indonesia angkatan 2019-2022 yang diambil dengan menggunakan teknik simple random probability sampling. Data penelitian dengan uji korelasi Kendall’s tau-b dan metode analisis jalur (path analysis) menunjukkan bahwa nilai hubungan penerimaan sosial dengan perilaku asertif tanpa adanya variabel antara lebih besar, yaitu sebesar 0,468 dibandingkan nilai hubungan dengan adanya self-esteem sebagai variabel antara, yaitu sebesar 0,078. Hasil tersebut berarti bahwa penerimaan sosial memiliki hubungan terhadap perilaku asertif secara langsung bagi mahasiswa Prodi Ilmu Kesejahteraan Sosial, Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik, Universitas Indonesia angkatan 2019-2022. Selain itu, didapat juga hasil yang menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara self-esteem dengan perilaku asertif, yaitu sebesar 0,369. Dari hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pelaksanaan Social Skills Training (SST) sudah tepat sasaran dan Social Skills Training (SST) penting untuk diikuti oleh mahasiswa.  

Assertive behavior is one of the skills that students need to apply. Social Skills Training (SST) is one of the efforts made by the Department of Social Welfare, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Indonesia to increase assertive behavior in Social Welfare College Students. In the Social Skills Training (SST), there is an introduction to self-esteem and social acceptance of students as an effort to increase assertive behavior. Meanwhile, based on theory, the relationship between social acceptance, assertive behavior, and self-esteem has a tiered relationship where social acceptance influences self-esteem and then self-esteem influences assertive behavior. Therefore, this study aims to determine the relationship of social acceptance of assertive behavior of students with self-esteem as an intervening variable. The study uses a quantitative research approach with a survey research type and questionnaire as an instrument. This cross-sectional research study was conducted online from February to April 2023 via the Google form. Respondents in this study were 83 Social Welfare College Students, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Indonesia class of 2019-2022 who were taken using the simple random probability sampling technique. The results of the study using the Kendall's tau-b correlation test and the path analysis method show that the value of the link between social acceptance and assertive behavior without an intervening variable was 0,468, while the value of the relationship with self-esteem as an intervening variable was 0,078. These results mean that social acceptance has a direct relationship to assertive behavior for students of the Social Welfare Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Indonesia class of 2019-2022. In addition, the results also show that there is a relationship between self-esteem and assertive behavior, which is equal to 0,369. From these results, it can be concluded that the implementation of Social Skills Training (SST) is right on target and Social Skills Training (SST) is important for students to participate in."

"Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melihat gambaran penerimaan diri sebagai manfaat pendidikan psikologi pada mahasiswa psikologi jenjang sarjana. Penerimaan diri adalah kondisi dimana seseorang benar-benar menerima dirinya tanpa tergantung penerimaan orang lain (Ellis,1997). Manfaat pendidikan psikologi dilihat dengan pertanyaan terbuka tentang manfaat pendidikan psikologi. Penerimaan diri dengan menggunkan alat ukur Unconditional Self Acceptance Questionnaire (USAQ) (Chamberlain & Haaga, 2001). Penelitian ini dilakukan pada 179 orang mahasiswa jenjanga sarjana Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Indonesia angkatan 2009, 2010, 2011, dan 2012. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh adalah tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara skor penerimaan diri sebagai dampak pendidikan psikologi pada setiap angkatan mahasiswa (p=0,582).

This study is conducted to see the description of self-acceptance as the benefit of Psychology Education for undergraduate psychology students. Self-acceptance is a condition where a person truly accept himself (Ellis, 1997). Benefit of psychology education is measured by open-ended questions. Self-acceptance is measured by Unconditional Self Acceptance Questionnaire (USAQ) (Chamberlain & Haaga, 2001). Study was conducted on 179 undergraduate students, University of Indonesia in grade 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012. Result of this study , there is no significant differences between the scores of selfacceptance as the benefit of psychology education to students in each grade (p = 0.582)."
