"Skripsi ini membahas pengaruh institutionalized heterosexuality terhadap karakter-karakter termarginalisasi di Glee, serta strategi-strategi yang digunakan oleh karakter-karakter tersebut untuk bertahan dan mensubversi nilai-nilai tersebut. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan analisis tekstual yang berfokus pada perkembangan karakter perempuan dan karakter non-heteroseksual. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Glee menampilkan institutionalized heterosexuality sebagai nilai-nilai yang represif, kuat, dan kasar. Kemudian, Glee mempromosikan penerimaan dan penghargaan diri sebagai sebuah alternatif alih-alih mematuhi nilai-nilai institutionalized heterosexuality. Melalui dua poin tersebut, Glee mensubversi institutionalized heterosexuality.

This mini thesis discussed the influence of institutionalized heterosexuality to the marginalized characters in Glee and the strategies used by the characters to survive and subvert the norms. This is a qualitative textual analysis research which focused on the character development of the female and the non-heterosexuals.

This research found that Glee portrays institutionalized heterosexuality as repressive, powerful, and violent norms. Moreover, Glee promotes the self-acceptance and self-embracing as the alternative instead of conforming the institutionalized heterosexuality. Through these two points Glee subverts the institutionalized heterosexuality."

Hasilpenelitian ini menyarankan marketer agar mampu memilih endorser yang tepatuntuk menggunakan produknya dalam product placement yang ditampilkan dalamsebuah serial drama, karena aktor memiliki pengaruh yang cukup tinggi baikterhadap attitude toward brand/product, maupun purchase intention.

ABSTRACTThis study focused on the effect of Samsung Galaxy SIII smartphone productplacement, in Korean drama series entitled "To The Beautiful You". This researchis descriptive quantitative research design. The results of this study showed thatbrand awareness and attitude toward drama have insignificant effect on attitudetoward the brand / product, while the attitude toward the actor and attitude towardproduct placement significantly influence the attitude toward the brand / product.Attitude toward actors and attitude toward brand/product significantly influencepurchase intention. "Tesis ini membahas keterkaitan hubungan kekuasaan dengan kekerasan terhadap homoseksual yang terjadi di lingkungan sekolah. Metode analisis penelitian ini adalah kajian atas strategi representasi dalam adegan dan dialog serial TV Glee dengan berlandaskan pada teori wacana dan seksualitas Foucault, serta konsep gender Connell. Bentuk kekerasan yang disinyalir kerap dialami oleh homoseksual adalah kekerasan berbasis orientasi seksual, sehingga homoseksual selalu berada pada posisi tertindas dan bercitra negatif. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa kekerasan yang dialami homoseksual tidak hanya kekerasan berbasis orientasi seksual, tetapi juga kekerasan karena karakter di luar normal pada diri homoseksual, khususnya homoseksual laki-laki (gay) yang memiliki karakter feminin. Kondisi ini menjelaskan bahwa homoseksual tetap berada pada posisi tertindas namun ketertindasan ini justru berujung pada pembentukan citra positif pada kaum homoseksual.

This thesis discusses the correlation between power relation and violence against homosexuals in school. The study of the strategies of representation is used as the analysis method in analyzing the TV series scenes and dialogues based on the theory of Foucault’s concept of discourse and sexuality, and Connell’s concept of gender. Homosexuals have always been oppressed and stigmatized, and the form of violence that is allegedly faced by homosexuals is sexual orientation based violence.

The results of this research prove that not only do homosexuals suffer sexual orientation based violence, but also violence due to the homosexual character that is considered outside of the normal manner, particularly male homosexual (gay) with feminine character. These conditions explain that homosexuals remain oppressed, but still manage to build positive image."

"ABSTRAKDanny Phantom 2004 - 2007 adalah sebuah serial animasi yang menceritakan tentang seorang remaja, Danny Fenton, yang mengalami kecelakaan yang menjadikannya manusia setengah hantu, dan menggunakan kekuatan hantunya untuk melawan hantu-hantu di kotanya bersama dengan dua sahabatnya, Sam Manson dan Tucker Foley. Pandangan analisis dalam penggambaran Sam Manson dapat lebih jauh mengeksplorasi tentang representasi perempuan mengenai pembentukan dan penolakan terhadap stereotip. Melalui analisis tekstual, kita dapat menemukan lebih banyak wawasan tentang bagaimana stereotip gender dilanggengkan di dalam kartun tersebut dan kemudian dibalikkan. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menunjukkan bagaimana Sam merepresentasikan pemberdayaan perempuan dengan penolakannya terhadap stereotip-stereotip yang diabadikan oleh karakter wanita lainnya di dalam kartun tersebut. Dengan sikap Sam yang kontras dibandingkan dengan karakter-karakter wanita lain dan membalikkan peran gender, Butch Hartman sebagai penulis berhasil menumbangkan stereotip dalam seri Danny Phantom.

ABSTRACTDanny Phantom 2004 ndash; 2007 is an animated series about a teenager, Danny Fenton, who went through an accident that made him a half-ghost, and later used his ghost power to fight ghosts in his town along with his best friends, Sam Manson and Tucker Foley. Analytical view of the depiction of Sam Manson can further explore about female representation regarding forming and breaking stereotypes. Through textual analysis, we can find more insights about how stereotypes are perpetuated by the society within the show Danny Phantom and subverted. This paper aims to show how Sam represents women empowerment by breaking the stereotypes perpetuated by other female characters in the show. By Sam rsquo;s contrasting attitudes to other female characters and reversing gender roles, Butch Hartman as the author is successful in subverting stereotypes within the Danny Phantom series."

"Pornografi hari ini masih terus berkeliaran di ruang media digital sehingga dapat dikonsumsi oleh remaja yang tidak seharusnya mengonsumsinya. Pornografi tentu menjadi berbahaya jika dikonsumsi remaja karena berpotensi memberikan dampak yang tidak diinginkan. Dampaknya yakni mulai dari yang ringan seperti kecanduan, hingga yang parah yaitu melakukan apa yang dilihatnya dalam pornografi. Tujuan kajian ini yaitu untuk melihat fenomena terpaan pornografi, fase-fase dampak yang dirasakan, bagaimana pornografi menjadi role model di kalangan remaja, hingga bagaimana pornografi dapat berpengaruh terhadap gaya dan perilaku dalam hubungan romansa atau percintaan remaja. Kajian ini menggunakan metode kajian literatur untuk melihat berbagai fakta dan data terkait fenomena dan dampak terpaan pornografi di ruang media digital terhadap remaja. Terdapat empat pola pembahasan yang ditemukan dalam kajian ini, yaitu: (1) Terpaan Pornografi terhadap Remaja di Ruang Digital, (2) Dampak Terpaan Pornografi: terjadi secara bertahap, (3) Pornografi sebagai Role Model: pandangan terhadap seks dan kecenderungan berperilaku seksual, dan (4) Gaya Berpacaran Tidak Sehat sebagai Akibat Pornografi.

Today's pornography still roams the digital media space so that it can be consumed by adolescents who shouldn't be consuming it. Pornography certainly becomes dangerous if adolescents consume it because it can potentially have unwanted effects. The impact ranges from mild, such as addiction, to severe, namely, doing what is presented in pornography. This study aims to look at the phenomenon of pornography exposure, the phases of the perceived impact, how pornography becomes a role model among adolescents, and how pornography can affect the style and behavior in romantic relationships or adolescent romance. This study uses the literature review method to look at various facts and data related to the phenomenon and impact of pornography exposure in the digital media space on adolescents. There are four patterns of discussion found in this study, namely: (1) Exposure to Pornography on adolescents in the Digital Space, (2) The Impact of Exposure to Pornography: occurs gradually, (3) Pornography as a Role Model: views on sex and sexual behavior tendencies, and (4) Unhealthy Dating Style as a Result of Pornography."

Gender stereotype is an attitudes or behaviors of a 'typical' man or a 'typical' woman. Gender stereotype itself often depicted in movies in such different ways, some are tolerable and some are not. This article aims to discuss about how the idea of gender stereotype construct the characters and emotions in a film titled Inside Out 2015 Although there a lot of scholars who have discussed the movie from psychoanalytical point of view, not many have analyzed the movie based on the gender stereotype on the characters. This article expects to inform the reader that there are many elements that can be analyzed to prove that gender stereotype constructs the characters in the real life, and the emotions inside the characters' head."

"ABSTRAKIndustri Hollywood memiliki sejarah panjang yang tidak luput dari keberadaan seksisme dan perlakuan tidak adil terhadap wanita. Untuk mengkritik hal ini, Laura Mulvey mempublikasikan essai pada tahun 1975 yang berjudul ldquo;Visual Pleasure and Narrative Cinema rdquo;, dimana Ia menuangkan teorinya tentang keberadaan lsquo;tatapan pria rsquo; atau yang disebut sebagai Male Gaze. Melalui essai ini, Mulvey menyampaikan prespektifnya mengenai perlakuan kurang menyenangkan yang harus dihadapi wanita baik dibelakang maupun dihadapan layar dan mengkritik bagaimana mereka seringkali dianggap: sebagai tidak lebih dari objek pemuas tatapan laki-laki. Walaupun peran wanita dalam film-film kontemporer telah berkembang sejak zaman itu, Hollywood masih belum sepenuhnya bebas dari Male Gaze. Walaupun film tersebut mengandung banyak unsur Male Gaze, Para kritik memuji cara alur ceritanya yang inovatif dan karakter-karakter perempuannya yang kuat. Walaupun begitu, analisa lebih dalam akan film ini mungkin akan membuktikan kebalikannya. Paper ini akan mencoba untuk mengidentifikasi dan mencari alasan dibalik penggunaan Male Gaze dalam film ini. Paper ini juga akan mendiskusikan pesan-pesan subliminal yang disampaikan film ini dan bagaimana pesan tersebut dapat terlihat mendukung pemberdayaan wanita namun sebenarnya justru melestarikan ide-ide tertentu yang merendahkan mereka. Selanjutnya, paper ini akan membuktikan bahwa salah satu dari ide yang disampaikan oleh film tersebut adalah seksualitas wanita, yaitu bagaimana hal tersebut digambarkan sebagai sesuatu yang positif dan pada ujungnya sebagai sesuatu negatif. Paper ini akan mencoba melakukannya dengan menelaah teks film dengan menggunakan mise-en-sc ne, teori perfilman, dan teori Male Gaze karya Laura Mulvey.

ABSTRACTHollywood has had a long history of sexism and wrongful treatment of its women. To critic this, Laura Mulvey published her widely renowned 1975 essay ldquo;Visual Pleasure and Narrative Cinema rdquo;, in which she conceived her theory of the Male Gaze. Through it, Mulvey disclosed her perspective regarding the treatment of women behind and in front of the screen, criticizing the way they are often regarded inside of the film industry: as mere objects for male viewing pleasure. Although the role of women in contemporary movies has matured significantly since then, Hollywood is not yet free from the male gaze. More than two decades after Mulvey rsquo;s essay was published, John McNaughton released his erotic-thriller Wild Things 1998 . Although the picture contains a heavy dose of male gaze, it is excused for doing so on the grounds of using it innovatively. While it is sexual, the movie was still applauded for having strong female leads and endorsing female empowerment. Even so, a thorough look might point out why that might not be the case. The paper intends to not only identify and seek meaning behind the film rsquo;s brazen use of Male Gaze. The paper also tries to discuss the subliminal messages used in the movie that perpetuates certain ideas that demean and objectify women under the guise of, or while simultaneously, praising them. This paper further argues that one such idea is the ambivalence of female sexuality or how the movie at one time celebrates yet ultimately condemns it. This paper will attempt to do this by analyzing the text and the scenes of this film using mise-en-sc ne, film theory, and Laura Mulvey rsquo;s theory of Male Gaze."

"ABSTRAKArtikel ini menampilkan gambaran harc lement de rue di Paris melalui sekuen Quais de Seine dalam film Paris je t 39;aime. Film tersebut mengangkat cerita tentang perempuan-perempuan yang mengalami pelecehan seksual di jalanan, baik melalui tindakan maupun ucapan yang bersifat menggoda yang dilakukan laki-laki tidak dikenal. Pada dasarnya harc lement de rue di Paris melalui unsur sinematografi dan naratif film dilihat dari kategori , bagaimana pelecehan terjadi, dan siapa pelaku serta korban yang terlibat dalam film Paris Je T 39;aime pada sekuen Quais de Seine. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif yang didukung oleh teknik pengumpulan data yaitu studi kepustakaan. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa secara umum korban harc lement de rue adalah perempuan dari berbagai ras. Pelaku adalah laki-laki yang berasal dari berbagai ras. Dalam artikel ini juga ditemukan bahwa harc lement de rue tidak hanya menyinggung aspek seksual namun terdapat pelecehan agama yang dialami seorang tokoh perempuan muslim.

ABSTRACTThis article presents the depiction of harc lement de rue that is shown in Quais de Seine sequence in Paris je t 39;aime movie. The movie portrays the story of women who are harassed in the street by male strangers calling her a nasty words based on reality which frequently happen in Paris. Harc lement de rue is harassment in the street, especially sexual is portrayed through both verbal and physical harassment which often go hand-in-hand. The objective of this study is to find out harc lement de rue in Paris focusing on Quais de Seine sequence in Paris je t 39;aime film. The cinematography and narrative elements found in the film show types of harassment, how the harassment happens also the perpetrator and the victim of harassment. The method used in this research is qualitative research supported by library research for the data collection. This research shows that the victim of harc lement de rue are generally women from various races. Meanwhile, the perpetrators are males from various races. In addition, this research reveals that harc lement de rue does not only elevate sexual aspect but also religious harassment in a muslim woman character."

Representasi dimana karakter wanita-wanita ini hanya berada di dalam cerita hanya untuk membantu tokoh protagonis pria untuk melanjutkan hidupnya, memberikan alasan untuk hidup sedangkan karakter wanita tersebut hanya stagnan. Bentuk misogini yang implisit ini dapat memengaruhi wanita-wanita muda yang sedang dalam tahap pencarian diri.This research elaborates on how Manic Pixie Dream Girl is a Hollywood trope that romanticises the male gaze and how male writers see female characters, orchestrating them in a way that they only serve purpose to the male protagonist and to submit to his needs so that he can advance in his own life while the female character stays stagnant in her life. In this research, we challenge how females are represented in the current film industry where it`s filled with male creators and not enough female filmmakers. There has yet to be a coherent study that deeply explores this trope and the danger it imposes to impressionable young females who are in the phase of finding themselves. This subtle yet powerful form of misogyny is deeply rooted in the lack of female filmmakers, thus the portrayal of women is only that of the thought of male filmmakers."
