"Skripsi ini adalah penelitian mengenai gaya bahasa dan makna yang terkandung dalam sebelas lirik lagu karya Muse dalam album keempat mereka, Black Holes and Revelations. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan stilistika. Selain itu, digunakan juga teori semantik, serta penjelasan gaya bahasa atau majas, puisi, lirik, dan lagu untuk melengkapi interpretasi lirik dalam skripsi ini. Tujuan dituliskannya skripsi ini adalah untuk menjelaskan macam-macam gaya bahasa yang terkandung dalam lirik-lirik lagu Muse dalam album Black Holes and Revelations serta untuk mengilustrasikan korelasi gaya bahasa yang terdapat pada masing-masing lirik lagu dengan makna yang mungkin terbentuk. Temuan skripsi ini adalah: (1) Dalam setiap lirik lagu terdapat gaya bahasa semisal majas sebagai bentuk yang digunakan penyair untuk mengekspresikan keindahan estetika dari karya-karya yang dibuatnya, (2) Makna lirik lagu dapat dipahami dengan adanya pemahaman mengenai gaya bahasa yang dipilih atau digunakan penyair dalam menulis karyanya, (3) Sebagian besar lirik dalam album Black Holes and Revelations bertema politik serta mengkritik kebijakan pemerintah tentang perang. Hasil penelitian diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi dalam memahami gaya bahasa yang digunakan pencipta lagu dalam menyuarakan opininya sekaligus menyampaikan pesan terhadap pembacanya atau pendengarnya.

The focus of this study is about the language style and the meaning behind those eleven song lyrics on Muse’s fourth album, Black Holes and Revelations. This study used qualitative method through stylistics approach and contains an explanation of semantic theory, figures of speech, poem, lyric, and song to complete the interpretation of the eleven lyrics. The purpose of this study is to show language style in the lyrics, and to illustrate the correlation between the language style and the meaning in the lyrics. The results of this study are: (1) every song lyris has its own language style chosen by the songwriter to express the aesthetic side of the lyric, (2) the meaning of each lyric can be understood with the understanding of language style that is chosen by the songwriter in his work, (3) Most lyrics in Black Holes and Revelations are political and criticize the government’s policy of war. This study is expected to be a contribution to understand language style used by the songwriter to express his opinions as well as to deliver a message to his readers or listeners."

"Makalah ini membahas mengenai makna denotasi dan konotasi yang muncul dalam parfum yang dibuat oleh seorang pria yang berasal dari Belarus yang berkolaborasi dengan majalah Leaders, yaitu Vladislav Rekunov. Parfum tersebut adalah parfum " Leaders Number One Inspired by Vladimir Putin" yang merupakan parfum yang terinspirasi oleh sosok presiden Rusia yaitu Vladimir Putin yang telah mengabdi lebih dari 15 tahun dan memiliki kepribadian yang tegas, tangguh, berani dan elegan. Tujuan penulisan ini adalah untuk menjabarkan makna-makna yang terlihat didalam bentuk parfum "Leaders Number One Inspired by Vladimir Putin" menggunakan teori semiotika denotasi dan konotasi milik Roland Barthes. Adanya unsur-unsur denotasi dan konotasi didalam parfum akan digunakan untuk membuktikan bahwa melalui teori denotasi dan konotasi milik Roland Barthes terdapat kesesuaian antara pesan yang disampaikan pembuat parfum kepada pembeli.

This paper discusses the meaning of denotations and connotations that appear in perfumes made by a man from Belarus who collaborated with Leaders magazine, namely Vladislav Rekunov. The perfume is "Leaders Number One Inspired by Vladimir Putin" which is a perfume inspired by the Russian president, Vladimir Putin who has served more than 15 years and has a firm, tough, brave and elegant personality. The purpose of this paper is to describe the meanings seen in the form of perfume "Leaders Number One Inspired by Vladimir Putin" using the theory of semiotic denotations and connotations of Roland Barthes. The existence of denotation elements and connotations in perfume will be used to prove that through the theory of denotation and connotation of Roland Barthes there is a match between the message conveyed by perfume makers to perfume buyer."

"Saat ini penerjemahan telah menjadi kegiatan sehari-hari. Selain teks-teks dan artikel ilmiah, penerjemahan puisi berbahasa asing juga sering dilakukan oleh banyak penerjemah. Namun, penerjemahan puisi tidak sama dengan penerjemahan teks-teks bahasa asing lain. Puisi merupakan karya sastra yang unik, saat menerjemahkan penerjemah tidak hanya harus mempertahankan makna puisi namun juga harus mempertahankan bentuknya. Dalam tulisan ini akan membahas tentang pergeseran struktur dan makna dalam puisi terjemahan. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan studi kepustakaan terhadap buku yang relevan dengan topik ini.

Nowadays, translation already become a daily activity. Beside science texts and articles, foreign-language poetry translation often done by many translators. However , poetry translation is different with other foreign-language texts translation. Poetry is an unique literature work, translator have to maintain not only structure but also poetry's meaning. This paper will discuss about structural and meaning shift in translated poetry. The method used is qualitative method with a literature study of the book which relevant with the topic."
