"Tesis ini membahas kesetaraan gender dalam novel Suluk Sang Pembaharu (2004) karya Agus Sunyoto dengan mencermati isu gender dan sudut pandang di dalam teks. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif analitis. Sementara itu, teori yang digunakan adalah teori gender dengan mencermati sudut pandang di dalam teks. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperlihatkan kesetaraan gender dalam novel Suluk Sang Pembaharu (2004) yang dihadirkan untuk merekonstruksi figur Syaikh Siti Jenar melalui pendekatan gender. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan teks berhasil menampilkan konstruksi perempuan kuat melalui tokoh Nyi Indang Geulis dan Nyi Mas Gandasari. Narator juga berhasil merekonstruksi sosok Jenar melalui pemikirannya yang menyuarakan nilai kesetaraan, khususnya dalam hubungan antara laki-laki dan perempuan, sesuai nilai-nilai Islam.

This thesis analyses gender equality in a novel by Agus Sunyoto, Suluk Sang Pembaharu (2004), by taking a closer look at the issue of gender and point of view in the text. This study uses descriptive analytics method. Meanwhile, the theory of gender is used in the analysis by looking at the point of view (POV) in the text. This study aims to reveal how gender equality in the novel Suluk Sang Pembaharu (2004) has been given to reconstruct the figure of Syaikh Siti Jenar by gender approach. Results have shown that the text has successfully displayed the construction of powerful women through the characters of Nyi Indang Geulis and Nyi Mas Gandasari. The narrator has also managed to reconstruct the figure of Jenar through his thoughts that voice the value of equality, especially in the relationship between male and female based on Islamic values."

"Skripsi ini meneliti bagaimana unsur-unsur ekuivalensi terkait makna denotatif novel berbahasa Jerman Der Vorleser diterjemahkan ke dalam bahasa Indonesia dengan judul Sang Juru Baca. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif yang berfokus pada hasil terjemahan dan sejauhmana fungsi komunikatif bahasa dipertahankan dalam hasil terjemahan tersebut. Dari hasil analisis korpus data, ditemukan bahwa bukan hanya padanan makna kata dan ungkapan secara leksikal yang dapat mewujudkan ekuivalensi dan efek komunikatif dalam karya terjemahan., melainkan juga konteks, struktur kalimat, dan suasana yang ingin dibangun penulis.

This thesis reviews how the equivalence elements particularly the denotative meaning in the German novel Der Vorleser translated into Indonesian language with the title Sang Juru Baca. The research is conducted qualitatively and focused on the result of the translation regarding how far the communicative functions of language being maintained within the translation. The result of the analysis reveals that the lexical meaning of a word or term is not the only factor affecting the equivalence and communicative effect of a translated text, but also context, structure of sentence, and the atmosphere which the author would like to build."

"ABSTRAKPada skripsi ini, topik penelitian yang diangkat adalah kesepadanan penerjemahan kata makian dari bahasa Jerman dalam novel grafis Der Boxer ke dalam novel grafis bahasa Indonesia Sang Petinju. Dalam meneliti, peneliti menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif disertai penggunaan beberapa literatur. Peneliti menganalisis kesepadanan makna kata makian dalam teks sasaran dengan menggunakan teori kesepadanan dinamis Nida, yaitu dengan melihat kesamaan fungsi dibantu kesamaan referen yang dituju oleh kata makian dalam teks sumber maupun teks sasaran. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan dari 12 buah kata makian yang berbentuk kata dalam teks sasaran, 2 kata makian diantaranya masih belum sepadan. Fungsi kata makian yang digunakan dalam kedua novel grafis, yaitu 1 menghina lawan bicara dan 2 mengungkapkan rasa amarah mereka terhadap lawan bicara.

ABSTRACTThe topic of this research is focused on equivalence of swear words translation from German graphic novel Der Boxer to Indonesian graphic novel Sang Petinju. In researching this topic, researcher uses descriptive qualitative method using several literature source. The data analyzed by the dynamic equivalence theory from Nida and Taber, which is using the function from the swear word itself to compared the swear word from source text into target text with the support from the reference of the swear word. Researcher find out there are 16 swear words from the source text and 2 of them are not equivalence based on their function in target text. The function of the swear words that used in this both graphic novel are to insult other people and express someone emotions to other people.Keywords Graphic Novel, Translation, Swear Word, Equivalence, Function of Swear Words."
