"Saat masa Perang Dingin, Amerika Serikat dibawah kepemimpinan Presiden Harry S. Truman berusaha untuk membendung pengaruh komunisme Uni Soviet. Salah satu upaya Pemerintahan Truman saat itu adalah mengadakan hubungan politik luar negeri dengan Kuomintang dan mendamaikan pemerintahan tersebut dengan Partai Komunis Cina untuk mewujudkan unifikasi Cina. Meskipun demikian, upaya tersebut berujung pada kegagalan yang ditandai dengan dikuasainya Cina oleh PKC dan terusirnya Kuomintang ke Taiwan. Penelitian tugas akhir ini akan mengkaji kebijakan politik luar negeri yang diambil oleh Presiden Truman saat melakukan hubungan politik luar negeri dengan Pemerintah  Republik Cina selama masa jabatannya dari 1945 hingga 1953 yang dikaji melalui metode sejarah dan pendekatan politik internasional. Hasil dari penelitian adalah bahwasannya Presiden Truman berusaha untuk memperkuat kedudukan Kuomintang melalui bantuan luar negeri dan mendamaikan Kuomintang dengan PKC. Meskipun demikian, upaya tersebut tidak berhasil dan berujung pada jatuhnya Cina ke tangan komunis pada musim gugur 1949 dan terusirnya Kuomintang ke Taiwan. Selain itu, Pemerintahan Truman juga mendapat kritikan dari rakyat AS atas kegagalannya di Cina. Meskipun demikian, Pemerintahan Truman tetap melanjutkan upaya untuk melindungi Pemerintah Republik Cina dari pengaruh komunisme yang berkembang saat terjadinya Perang Korea dan intervensi Republik Rakyat Cina.

During the Cold War, the United States under the leadership of President Harry S. Truman tried to stem the influence of Soviet communism. One of the efforts of the Truman Administration at that time was to establish foreign policy relations with the Kuomintang and reconcile the government with the Chinese Communist Party to achieve Chinese unification. Even so, these efforts ended in failure which was marked by the control of China by the CCP and the expulsion of the Kuomintang to Taiwan. This final project research will examine the foreign policy policies taken by President Truman when carrying out foreign policy relations with the Government of the Republic of China during his tenure from 1945 to 1953 which are studied through historical methods and international political approaches. The result of the research is that President Truman tried to strengthen the position of the Kuomintang through foreign aid and reconcile the Kuomintang with the CCP. However, these attempts were unsuccessful and led to the fall of China to the communists in the fall of 1949 and the expulsion of the Kuomintang to Taiwan. In addition, the Truman Administration also received criticism from the US people for its failures in China. Nonetheless, the Truman Administration continued its efforts to protect the Government of the Republic of China from the influence of communism that developed during the Korean War and the intervention of the People's Republic of China."
