"ABSTRAKThe quality of housing constitutes the physical condition of housing as well as the perception and actions of the occupants. Assessment of housing quality tends to be based on the physical indicators of the housing environment with less attention to the occupants? understanding of housing quality. This study explores the housing quality from the point of view of the occupants especially in relation to the concept of ?healthy housing?. A structured interview wasconducted with a number of occupants living in high-density urban housing in order to reveal their understanding of the?healthy housing? concept. The study found the existence of a gap between the occupant?s perception of the healthyhousing quality and the factual physical condition of their housing. The occupants tend to evaluate their housing as having good quality, despite the facts found from the observation that some physical requirements of ?healthy housing? have not been satisfied yet in most houses. This understanding of ?healthy housing? is primarily related to the aspect ofcleanliness, while other aspects of healthiness do not seem to get enough attention. These findings become the basis ofthe discussion on the extent to which the perspective of the occupants should be incorporated in developing programmes for urban housing quality improvement. "

"Hunian berimbang merupakan salah satu langkah pemerintah dalam menyediakan hunian bagi masyarakat berpenghasilan rendah (MBR). Filosofi utama dari adanya hunian berimbang ini adalah untuk menjaga keserasian sosial dalam masyarakat, melalui hidup berdampingan diantara beragam strata sosial dalam satu lingkungan. Filosofi ini sejalan dengan prinsip inklusivitas. Selama ini, parameter inklusivitas hanya terfokus pada keterjangkauan (affordability). Penulis mempertimbangkan bahwa aksesibilitas (accessibility) merupakan aspek spasial yang juga sangat berpengaruh untuk memenuhi prinsip inklusivitas. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan, parameter inklusivitas terdiri dari keterjangkauan (affordability) dan aksesibilitas (accessibility). Namun, apakah perumahan dengan aturan hunian berimbang sudah memenuhi prinsip inklusivitas? Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi sejauh mana prisip inklusivitas diterapkan pada perumahan yang dibangun dengan aturan hunian berimbang, khususnya secara aksesibilitas (accessibility). Penulis menggunakan metode penelitian campuran dengan data yang diperoleh melalui wawancara dan observasi lapangan. Melalui proses penelitian, penulis menemukan bahwa secara finansial tidak semua MBR dapat menjangkau harga rumah di perumahan dengan hunian berimbang. Secara fisik, perumahan hunian berimbang aksesibilitasnya tidak mudah. Maka dari itu, perumahan dengan aturan hunian berimbang memenuhi prinsip inklusivitas dari segi keterjangkauan (affordability) tetapi belum memenuhi prinsip inklusivitas dari segi aksesibilitas (accessibility).

Balanced housing is one of the government's steps in providing housing for low-income people. The main philosophy of the existence of balanced housing is to maintain social harmony in society, through coexistence among various social strata in one environment. This philosophy is suitable with the principle of inclusivity. So far, inclusivity parameter focuses on affordability. Author consider that accessibility is a spatial aspect that is also very influential to fulfill the principle of inclusivity. So it can be concluded, inclusivity parameters consist of affordability and accessibility. However, does housing with balanced housing regulations already meet the principle of inclusivity?

This study aims to identify the extent to which inclusivityis applied to housing constructed with a balanced housing regulation, especially in accessibility. This research uses mixed methods research with data obtained through interviews and observations.

Through the research process, the author found that financially not all low-income people can reach housing prices in housing with balanced housing. Therefore, housing with balanced housing regulations meets the principle of inclusivity in terms of affordability but has not yet fulfilled the principle of inclusivity in terms of accessibility."

"Skripsi ini membahas mengenai batas (boundary) yang tak hanya sebagai elemen fisik namun juga non-fisik yang terkait dengan aktivitas. Hunian dengan lahan yang terbatas (minimal) menjadi studi kasus dalam melihat hal tersebut. Pembahasan mengenai batas dilakukan dari dua sisi, batas sebagai elemen penyusun arsitektur dan batas yang terbentuk sebagai respon manusia terhadap apa yang dihadapinya. Pada akhirnya, sebuah fleksibilitas dari batas bisa digunakan untuk mencapai solusi dari hunian tersebut. Hal ini tentunya juga membuka peluang akan makna dari batas itu sendiri.

his thesis discusses about the boundary that is not only as a physical element, but also non-physically associated with the activity. Minimal housing as a case study to see it. The discussion of the boundary will be done on both sides, as the element of architecture and boundaries that are formed as a human response to what he faced. In the end, a flexibility of the boundary can be used to achieve a solution of minimal housing. It is also becomes an opportunity to see other meaning of it."
