"Arsitektur dan puisi adalah bentuk seni yang menggunakan kreativitas. Ini adalah studi tentang hubungan antara puisi The Act of Jan Palach oleh David Shapiro dan The House of Suicide dan The House of the Mother of Suicide oleh John Hejduk. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Alan Simpson dalam analisis komparatif. Kesamaan dalam konsep, sikap dan kualitas transendental merupakan faktor dalam analisis komparatif. Penelitian ini juga menyelidiki puisi sebagai sumber inspirasi. Dalam studi kasus, ada hubungan kuat antara arsitektur dan puisi.

Architecture and poetry are forms of art that use creativity. This is a study of the relation between the poem The Act of Jan Palach by David Shapiro and The House of the Suicide and The House of the Mother of the Suicide by John Hejduk. This study applies Alan Simpson rsquo s method of comparative analysis. The similarities in concepts, attitudes and transcendental quality are the factors in the comparative analysis. This is also an investigation of the use of poetry as a source of inspiration. In the case study, there is a strong relation between architecture and poetry."

"Skripsi ini membahas konsep “ide” dan “ideal” yang digagas oleh Plato dan menerapkannya ke dalam arsitektur. Alur pembahasannya dimulai dari penelaahan konsep ideal yang sebenarnya eksis dalam pemahaman masyarakat awam dan bagaimana konsep ini awalnya diperkenalkan oleh Plato. Berikutnya, penerapan konsep ini dalam arsitektur akan mengacu pada zaman Vitruvius yang memulai diskusi tentang bidang ilmu arsitektur. Pengerucutan pembahasan adalah dalam ide yang digagas Vitruvius mengenai arsitektur yang indah. Arsitektur yang indah adalah yang menerapkan prinsip-prinsip proporsi dan simetri dalam rancangannya. Kemudian, untuk melihat dengan jelas hadirnya prinsip keindahan ini, pembahasan akan mengerucut lagi ke media representasi ide arsitektur yaitu foto. Foto memiliki dualitas dalam posisinya terhadap teori Plato. Foto bisa dinilai ideal, tapi pada saat yang sama mustahil ideal. Terlepas dari manfaat-manfaat yang dirasakan lewat penelaahan teori ide Plato dan fotografi, penalaran dan logika Plato memiliki kekurangan. Fotografi ternyata terikat konteks yang membuatnya menjadi media representasi yang penerapan ide dan idealnya berbeda dengan gagasan Plato. Akhirnya, setelah menganalisanya berdasarkan teori ide Plato, kita sampai pada satu kesimpulan. Logika Plato berlaku selama cakupannya adalah manusia dan pikirannya.

The focus of this study is discussion about the concept of “idea” and “ideal” initiated by Plato and then apply it into the architecture. The flow of the discussion starts from a review of the concept of the ideal that truly exists in the understanding of ordinary people and how this concept was originally introduced by Plato. Next, the application of this concept in architecture will be based on Vitruvius who started the discussion about the architecture. The convergence discussion is the idea initiated by Vitruvius about what makes architecture beautiful. Architecture that is beauty applying the principles of proportion and symmetry in its design. Then, to see clearly the presence of this beauty principles, the discussion will be pursed again to the representation of the architectural ideas through photo. Photos have a duality in the theory of Plato's position. Photos can be considered ideal, but at the same time impossible ideal. Regardless of the benefits through the study of Plato's theory of idea and photography, Plato’s logic has its drawbacks. Photography turned out to be bound to the context that makes its application about idea and ideal different from Plato. Finally, after analyzing it based on Plato's theory of idea, we arrive at a conclusion. Plato’s Logic scope is valid only for human and his mind."

"Fenomena kaki lima di kota besar adalah bukti tentang peningkatan kebutuhan pangan masyarakat perkotaan. Namun kemunculannya sering mengganggu keutuhan ruang-ruang publik. Dengan kompleksitas yang terjadi di antara ruang-ruang publik dan subjek yang terlibat, kegiatan kaki lima menjadi menarik untuk di telusuri dari konteks ruangnya. Ketika ruang publik terinterveni, interioritas dari kawasan tersebut menjadi dipertanyakan. Berdaarkan teori interioritas yang digagas oleh McCarthty (2005) pembahasan interioritas coba dijelaskan dari poin-poin yang meliputi; kontrol, batas, eksterioritas, habitat, tubuh, waktu dan atmosfer. Poin-poin tersebut kemudian coba dijelaskan melalui penggambaran diagram yang dibagi menjadi dua kelompok yakni dari segi kualitas dan dimensi. Dengan demikian diharapkan interioritas dapat digambarkan dan dideskripsikan antara ruang membran eksterioritas sebagai penyelubungnya.

The phenomenon of street vendor is the impact of a crucial need for food. But the appearance of them are often interfere the integrity of public space. In the compe xity between public spaces and subject who involved, the activity of street vendors would be interesting to be followed espsecially about the interiority of its. Based from McCarthy (2005) interioirty are about control, boundary, exteriority, habitation, body, time and atmosphere. In this thesis the points from McCarthy would be descibed through depiction diagrams are divided into two groups; the quality and dimensions. It is expected to describe the interiority in the exteriority that unveil the cell."
